Double room. Very spacious. Shared with my sister. Very comfortable and great pillows. Very modern rooms with touch switches for lighting, curtains and privacy. Large window with views but not of the harbour. Easy train from the airport to Circular Quay then ferry ride to Pyrmont Wharf. Short walk to the hotel. Quiet and picturesque area close to all attractions. Great restaurants in the Star complex and the hotel. All staff went above and beyond starting with the security guard outside the building who I asked for directions. He took my bag and escorted me all the way to the concierge. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Best I’ve ever encountered. Dressing gowns and slippers supplied and beds turned down with a treat on the pillow. Felt very spoilt. Would definitely recommend this hotel for something a bit special.

Only slight problem with the double room would be the open plan bathroom. Great double sink and seperate toilet but no door so not private when stepping out of the shower. Very small issue which would never prevent me returning.

Very spacious, room includes ironing board and some extra pillows, bath products smells great, room service is terrific as they clean your room twice a day! automated curtain via a button, free wifi, great simple rain water shower with shower hose too. Love the coffee maker with capsules and milk, plus some tea alternatives. Hotel shavers are available upon request. The Star's harvest buffet was perfect for brunch!

Need more drawers in the room, huge bedside table without a drawer is a bit useless, things are cluttered all over. TV settings needs capability to lower the brightness, too bright when the room lights are dimmed. There is no door between the bathroom sink and bedroom which is not great with little kids as they can slip.

AMAZING service and beautiful decor. We stayed in one of the Jewel Suites at The Darling- absolutely stunning. The highlight of the Star is the friendly staff. This is really what makes the experience 5-star. We had the pleasure of having Yvette and Ian looking after us throughout our stay, and they went out of their way to congratulate my partner on his graduation, complete with some beautiful gifts sent to our room! The Spa at the Darling is something you just HAVE to try. We walked out feeling completely refreshed and relaxed and it was absolutely the best way to start off our day. As someone who values top-tier customer service and venue cleanliness, I rate this hotel an easy 5 stars. The level of care is outstanding and the experience is one to remember.

Honestly can’t think of any negatives!

We stay at the darling every year for my birthday. It’s always so welcoming when you first get there till the time you leave. The facilities are so clean , the food is exceptional and overall 10/10 every time we stay. The staff are absolutely amazing , always smiling and so happy to help with whatever you need during your stay, nothing is ever too much,they surely do go above and beyond for their guests. Yvette was amazing who checked us in on arrival , not only did she get us into our room for a 10am check in but also upgraded our room for no extra charge. Yvette also said when we return she will look after us again which I am so happy about as she was just a delight .

I couldn’t think of 1 thing we didn’t like . Everything was absolutely amazing and cannot wait to return for another getaway at the darling at the star sydney.

The room was impeccably clean and neat. I liked the ultra-modern electrical “touch” switches, especially the electrical opening/closing of the curtains. Similarly, instead of a “Do Not Disturb” sign, there was a “Privacy” switch which lit up a small light outside the room for the housekeeping staff. I had to eat my own diet breakfast in my room and the hotel facilitated this by giving me plates and cutlery. The shower (handheld as well as rainfall) worked well. There is a food court servicing the three adjoining hotels and casino.

We were travelling for our honeymoon and were lucky enough to be upgraded to the Adored Suite. It was absolutely beautiful and we could not fault anything from the stay. When we were checking out, a lovely man from the Valet team took our bags and offered us some complimentary chocolates which he spent time and effort sourcing for us. A small gesture, but his genuine kindness was very much appreciated. I’m not sure of his name, but his efforts should not go unnoticed. A fantastic stay, and all staff we met were phenomenal.

EVERYTHING. We were upgraded to The Jewel Suite. When you walked into the room everything was automated. The blinds opened, the lights turned on. Room was spacious and beautiful. I loved the bathroom and the deep bath. The walk in robe was very impressive. I loved that the bed side tables had a built in mobile phone charger. The little sensor in toilet was handy. The shower was huge and one of the best showers I’ve been in. I loved that you could slide the bedroom doors and bathroom doors closed but they didn’t feel like doors, it just felt like the doors were walls.

An array of diverse options of sites to see, places to shop, and restaurants to eat at. All within 45 minutes of walking or even less if you use public transportation. I could not have chosen a better location. The staff was extremely helpful.

The gym/fitness center wasn't 24/7 due to it being attached to the spa. This is the first hotel I've been to that had a gym that wasnt open 24/7. Also, since living abroad I've gotten used to their being a facilities to do laundry at the hotel. They didn't advertise themselves as having this so I'm not too upset.

The suite was super-duper, with the best bed I have ever had in a hotel. I mean the BEST. The linen was sumptuous and the room was perfect for me. The turn down room service was a very nice touch and the staff could not have been more helpful or professional.

I was surprised there was no speaker to plug phone into for music or podcasts. On a highly personal note, not for all I know...I would appreciate if hotels didn't assume everyone drank alcohol, and provided real milk in the fridge and a tea pot with loose tea as an option.

I think this is my new all time favourite hotel. I have stayed in 5 star hotels on multiple occasions and I feel that this is the first one to really feel like 5 star quality and service. The staff were lovely, the hotel is beautiful, the rooms are plush, modern, delightfully automated (I'm definitely putting a sensor night light in my toilet now) and so comfortable. The turn down service was a nice surprise when we returned to our room after seeing Wicked (which I also highly recommend). The perfect place to stay if seeing a show at The Lyric - so convenient not having to worry about parking, traffic, or public transport after the show. We ate at Cucino Porto before the show - also very convenient, definitely make a booking if there is a show on that night - the food was okay, the service at the restaurant was disappointing - our waitress was lovely but she was spread too thin, I would try the other restaurants if I was to stay again. The light rail having a stop at The Star is also very convenient, easy to get around through the CBD or to a station to catch trains.

The only thing we didn't like, was that we couldn't stay longer.
