Whitworth Locke is a gorgeous, boutique spot. The location was perfect - beside the Gay Village, 10 mins walk from the Nothern Quarter & less than 20 mins walk from the gig venue (Academy 3). The decor was beautiful, our room was comfortable & clean. All the staff were very friendly. Shout out to the lovely concierge who checked us in & out - Grace - could not have been more helpful. While we didn't try the onsite restaurant, the coffee shop was great. Overall, it was a lovely experience staying at the Locke, and I would return.

We had a basement room, which unfortunately is not soundproofed against the noise carrying from upstairs guests - not great to be woken before 9 am on a Sunday / holiday away! The concierge (Grace!) did provide some drinks vouchers as an apology for the noise. And, a minor point: I appreciate the room.lighting is designed to create a cosy, chilled-out atmosphere. However, it was not great for putting on make-up! Even a light on both sides of the bathroom.mirror would have made a difference.

Hotel itself is beautiful and the bar area/restaurant is really good. Rooms are nice and homely and the shower has great water pressure. The curtains are great at black-out so makes the room extra dark at night. Location is perfect to get everywhere easily. Overall a really good stay and we enjoyed it very much

Rooms were a bit dark by the bed area even with the curtains open and all the lights on so was difficult to get ready in the evening. Lighting also wasn't great for doing makeup in the bedroom or in the bathroom but I'd say these were only minor inconveniences as everything else was so good. Cafe is quite expensive for breakfast items so would suggest to go into the city centre for something cheaper. Beds were also a little hard for both of us and the shower made a loud explosion of water in the middle of the night even though it was turned off - this happened most nights

The service was absolutely the highlight. Every person I came into contact with was helpful and friendly, in a very genuine way. Reception booked a taxi for me to the office I was visiting and I had an unexpected issue, and I let them know, just because I would want to know if I was using an outside service. They were so helpful and called the company resolved the issue immediately, and gave me a free breakfast, which I didn't ask for or expect. The service was most definitely the stand out of the trip. The hotel is very centrally located, an older building which is recently renovated with nice modern rooms, and the gym is very well equipped.

The only thing which would be difficult in summer is that there is no air conditioning, which is not possible in a heritage building like that. However they have large fans which help out a bit. It would be a bit uncomfortable if it was during a heat wave.

Gorgeous aparthotel in a fantastic location. The rooms are really well equipped, even the cheapest ones. Hobs, fridge, washing machine, dishwasher, sink etc - it's a fully functioning kitchen! The whole place inside and out is very aesthetically pleasing, the reception area/bar/lounge has a lovely atmosphere and a notably wonderful smell. The staff are super friendly and helpful.

I note other people have taken umbrage with street noise and drunken revery being audible in the rooms. Whilst I have never heard a peep from the street whilst staying there, it's a city centre hotel in an area with a lot of bars, if you don't like noise, perhaps staying so centrally isn't for you.

Probably my favourite hotel, it’s like being at home with a little more luxury. The beds are insanely comfy, the facilities mean you can cook and prep lunch if you’re there for a few days. Showers are great and the toiletries are lovely. So we’ll resigned and the aesthetic is perfect. It’s nice having independent coffee shops and bars on site rather than the generic in-house food and drink you get at bigger chains.

There isn’t a number to call reception from your room if you have an issue and the reception is a public bar, so you have to walk through people dressed for a night out when you’re looking ready for bed to speak to reception. Apart from that, no faults.

The room was quaint and tidy with all of the niceties one might hope for, tea pot, glasses, cookware, TV, fans (and I got an extra!). The site had laundry which was a big bonus, and it was free. Reception was always helpful.

It was hotter than hades with two side windows that were tricky to open. I had to climb into the outcrop to open the lever and push the windows out. The fans were quite large for this space and didn't provide easy use, but I made it work. Lucky there were two fans, one to draw air in and the other to draw air out. Night sleeping was good.

The location was great. We were pleased about how easy and quick it was to get everywhere we wanted to go by foot and by Uber which was also a great price to everywhere. The hotel exceeded all expectations, I was already excited to come and stay after seeing it online but the whole vibe was amazing. A bar, a cafe and restaurant onsite - we ate at the foundation cafe for breakfast both mornings and both times we enjoyed! We went to the gym one morning which was so well equipped! The room was amazing, it was probably the cleanest hotel I’ve ever stayed it lol. (It was also equipped with great facilities for cooking/washing your clothes etc. The room was BEAUTIFUL - it was really a vibe to stay in and we both enjoyed it thoroughly. It also had a very homey feeling which was so lovely! The whole hotel was so beautiful, such a high end cool vibe. The staff was so great, the most friendly and relaxed vibe and so lovely and knowledgable about the area. They were so helpful! And lastly, the place smelt incredible, everytime we walked in we were like wow! Would definitely stay again!

Amazing!!This place is such good value for money. The place was stunning in the lobby and the room was just as pictured. The reception staff were so helpful and really made our stay amazing. This is directly across from canal st and was round the corner from the theatre which was the reason for our journey. We also went into the heart of Manchester and it was only a quick walk to most restaurants. Will be back here!!

I liked the approach to sustainability however there was no 'normal' milk provided in the room. Me being fussy, I didn't like the oat water you provided which meant I couldn't have a cup of tea in the morning. That would have made my stay unfaultable!!

We liked the room and the mattress was exceptionally comfortable. One of the two guys from the night shift was lovely and he helped us with checking in, etc. We had an issue (we arrived quite late and the bed wasn't made up for the 3rd person in the room), but it was absolutely amazingly resolved by the manager the next day, while we weren't the most satisfied customers. All in all, we are definitely going back to this location, because 99% they tried everything they could to make us a memorable stay.

One of the guys from the night shift didn't want to/couldn't resolve our issue, with the room, and didn't even want to place us in another room, while he was stating that we should've let him know 24 hours before, while we booked 12 hours before we arrived, we didn't accept this reasoning, but at 1am, there wasn't much we could do and my mom had to sleep in a trundle bed, which was made up when we were in the room. But the story ended up with us being happy customers, while the manager next day resolved the issue with offering us a discount and free breakfasts!
