location and the staff. They were both absolutely fantastic. All the staff were so friendly and helpful. the location is literally 3 min walk from the Louvre. 15 mins from Notre Dame. The room was big, very comfortable.

the pre-payment on your card. I had 300 euros pre-authorised on my card when I made the booking. I then payed for the room upfront on arrival, plus another 100 euros pre authorised on the card, followed by the 69 euros I was due them for mini bar usage. an awful lot of unnecessary pre-authorisation in my opinion.

Absolute the nicest people at reception and breakfast room. Weather rubbish and windows (in an old property in a busy city ) don’t close ? never mind we change your room. No coffee machine in your room? no problem we bring you a kettle ! key doesn’t work after several attempts ? it’s OK we come and open for you and make sure we have you all sorted

decor is of a certain taste - Alice in Wonderland mean Queen springs to mind - all the more reason to go out and explore !!

The lack of restaurant and bar facilities. The description said the hotel had both but there really wasn’t. The rooms were not soundproof!

The hotel accommodations were perfect for families. Our room was spacious and our daughter's room smaller but perfect for her. Staff was fantastic! friendly and willing to help. Breakfast was very good too. Location couldn't be better. We are already planning another trip to Paris and we will be staying here!

The tube / shower in our room was very deep (soaking tub/shower) and there were no handrails. It was very slippery. My husband didn't feel safe taking a shower there but it wasn't that much of a problem because he used the shower in our daughter's room. They should put handrails in the shower.

Excellent location, within a walking distance to main attractions and activities. Staff is incredibly attentive and friendly. Makes their best to make you feel comfortable. The room was relatively large for Paris, and clean. The breakfast was excellent and rich Definitely worth the price Thank u Empire for a great stay!

We chose this hotel for the location in the second district and proximity to multiple metro lines to access the entire city. The room size was excellent with plenty of room for luggage and areas to stretch out. The bathroom was also a great size with a large tub and heated towel rack. The bed was also very large but firm.

The temperature control stopped working on the 2nd night we were there, unknown to us. We just thought that we were not able to get the room temperature right with the thermostat. Turns out there was an issue and they came on their own to our room to fix it. The only other issue was the 2nd elevator shook when disembarking and that was a little unsettling when we used it every day.

the convenience factor was incredible! we were central to most places, and there were so many stores, restaurants, and of course the Louvre which was within 5min walking distance!

the air conditioning is wired not individually per room, so there is no way to turn on AC if we wanted since they shut off the function during colder times. it was a minor inconvenience and really not much could have been done with how the system was configured, but would have been nice to control the room temp more readily as it did get stuffy at times.

The location is perfect – a walking distance from many city attractions, supermarkets, shops, restaurants and more. The staff was very hospitable and friendly. Breakfast was good with a decent variety.

The hotel is not accessible by car! I didn't find any mention of that in the reviews I read, and had to find out the hard way. Apparently, two yeas ago, the city of Paris closed Rivoli street (the main road leading to the hotel) to car traffic except for taxis, buses and emergency vehicles. We arrived with a driver from a private company, which could not access the hotel location, so we had to get out and walk to the hotel for about 200 meters. Not a disaster, but certainly not fun with luggage. Also, a minor nuisance – there are no clothes hangers in the shower.

I had a very good time at the city and the Hotel! The hotel staff was amazing, me and my family got such a warm welcoming to the hotel! we started the stay with a very big smile! The hotel is nice and gave us a great, relaxing breakfast. The hotel is in a very centric location at the very heart of Paris, many great locations in a walk distance from the hotel! All of this in addition to mentioning the hotel is a 5 minute walk from a big metro/train station, we took a train from the airport straight to the hotel!

Extraordinary location! The staff is amazing and bent over backwards to help us. We had fabulous, spacious rooms. A terrific hotel in the 1st arrondissement!

The lighting in the hallways is motion sensor (love it from an environmental perspective!) but was difficult to turn on, and when lit was very, very dim. Made the hallway seem unwelcoming even though the rooms are lovely, clean, and spacious. If the hotel changes this lighting plan I would give it a 10/10!
