Customer service was great. The breakfast was great with excellent service. The location is convenient to the train station (Note, the hotel is opposite exit of the Cathedral). It was great for what we needed in a short stay.

I know it really doesn't matter in Cologne, but there is no air conditioner in the room. I suspect 11 months out of the year you do not need cold air conditioning, but our room was a little warm. Just know that if you book in the summer, it may be warm. We had to leave the window open at night, but then you have to hear the street noise. It wasn't too noisy, but it was there.

No signs of mold growth... Considering it's a family grown business (or that's what my impression was), it has been superb in keeping up the place well - maintained. The tub was a PLUS - I wanted to soak in it after a long day walking but was too tired to do so 😊 And Of course, the centrality of the location. Lastly, David, who received us, welcomed us personally with our names even upon arrival at the door!

I expected much for breakfast based on the reviews but it was still good because the staff were very, very accommodating and friendly.

The breakfast was great. My room was very quiet. The hotel was old-fashioned in some ways, but spotless and it looked recently refurbished.

The location was great - so close to the railway station and the dom. But it was also slightly edgy and as a lone woman I didn't feel that comfortable on the walk between the station and the hotel. I thought air conditioning would be standard in all rooms - there was one in the room, but I had no controller - and I think that was because I didn't pay for the 'extra comfort' room.

The breakfast was fantastic. Anything you may want for breakfast was available. The hotel is only a 3 minutes walk from the train station. Many of the attractions of Cologne are very close and you can easily walk to them. Another real plus was the front desk is staffed 24 hours. You can leave your room key with them and pick it up when you return.

The only thing I missed was having a coffee/tea service in the room. I like to make tea as soon as I get up. They have WIFI, however the password is not very safe.

The staff was accommodating and fulfilled any additional wishes. When my travel companion fell ill and needed to be in bed all day, we were helped a lot when the staff provided additional food and towels. Thank you so much.

The shower was very odd. When we left the shower on to wash our head, the drainage would log up and leave a peddle of water outside the washing area. Please fix that issue or redesign the shower to hold a larger amount!

Really friendly staff, we felt very welcome! Staff gave us good tips for dinner and travel within the city. The room was very comfortable with air conditioning, which was welcome on a very hot day. The location is great, near the railway station and Dom. Quiet neighbourhood, easy walking distance to the city centre. We were able to leave our luggage on the day of departure and use the lounge when we were waiting for our train. Super breakfast!

The breakfast is extremely good and David and the staff were very helpful. The location is superb, just a few minutes walk from the station and cathedral and neighbourhood felt safe to walk at night. The room I was given had air-conditioning which was great as it was over 30 degrees each day.

I would have liked tea and coffee making facilities, but that wasnt a huge problem.

Excellent location, really friendly and helpful staff, clean room, working air conditioning. I had to leave early to catch a flight on the last day and would miss breakfast, but the staff were able to sort me a pack-up brunch/lunch to take with me.

The Hotel has very convenient location, just few steps to Köln Hauptbahnhof, this is old school classical german hotel from the elevator to general decoration you can feel this. Breakfast was quite sufficient and all served food are fresh and delicious. Staff is very friendly.

Rooms are very small and there is no complimentary coffee & tea in the room. I stayed during the carneval time, I have to pay more than 5 stars hotel price.

Perfectly located for arriving by train late at night - a few minutes walk from the main station. A good range of delicious breakfast choices and good coffee. Bed was comfortable and bathroom clean. From reception through breakfast waitresses to cleaners, all the staff I encountered were friendly and helpful. Everything felt very mindfully planned. I would happily stay at Hotel Ludwig when passing through Köln in future.

Just a minor thing and not a big deal for me because I was only passing through briefly and didn't need it, but the wifi password wasn't automatically provided. I think you need to ask for it at reception.
