The location was perfect. A couple of minutes walk from the main station and underground. The other side of that is the compact centre of Cologne and the cathedral. In fact, you could see the cathedral from the entrance to the hotel. Staff were unremittingly nice and helpful. I speak hardly any German, everyone there spoke English. In a fairly quiet street. My room was basic but comfortable and quiet. Breakfast buffet was modest but quite diverse. Perhaps it's local cuisine, but there were things like meatballs and spicy sauces along with the usual cheeses, meats, and so on. Lots of little dishes with Pickles in them or yoghurt and so on. It was all very nice.

Room could have been a bit cleaner. Lots of grit and stuff on the floor. Had to wipe my feet before getting into bed. I didn't try asking for housekeeping to give it a clean, Their system is not to do so until you leave. Ended up cleaning it myself. Bathroom a bit gunky in the corners. Smelled a bit when I arrived.

Really close to HBF and the Dom, not too far from the main area either. Close to the Rhine river which is nice to walk along. The staff are really lovely. The hotel also has one of the best breakfast buffets. They allocate each guests into different time slots so we would all get a table. They also give you a menu for eggs - eggs your choice made fresh. The room is small but clean and the bed is comfy. Very simple hotel with minimum facilities but still a cute room.

Minimum facility, no kettle or mini fridge. Not sure if this is normal for Europe. Small room and also small bathroom which doesn’t bother me but the bathroom was quite humid even when i turn the fan on extensively. Sometimes after flushing the toilet it can take a while for the water to stop which would worry me as I thought i broke it.

Good variety for breakfast, including vegan options and freshly made omelette à la carte, great location (I'd think main station is a bad area but no, lovely architecture, not noisy).

I was a little confused because although I had booked a room I received a studio. While this may sound as an upgrade, I did not know how I felt about that. Maybe I should have refused it. The studio was on the ground floor which is always a little weird, the walls were extremely thin and the pantry kitchen was not fitting the rest of the room's style. Also, standard "hotel" appliances, like a tresor, were missing.

Very central location, 3-5 minutes walking distance to the main train station and the Cologne Cathedral. Hotel staff was kind and helpful. The room and bathroom was clean and tidy. Towels and bedsheets were also very clean. There was a small LCD TV on the wall (which I didn't use). I felt safe in terms of the street the hotel was located.

I stayed in the 1 person room in the ground floor. Considering the price point, the room have everything necessary. But the interior design was a little bit outdated. But it is not a big deal for me as a solo traveller staying only 1 night. It's more than enough considering the price I paid. My room had a window but it was opening to a gap (like a tiny courtyard) which means not much sunlight during day.

The bed was super, so comfortable. Everything was spotlessly clean. Staff were friendly and efficient . Located close to city centre and main train station.

Missed having reception area and breakfast room in the building, left the place a little soulless. Breakfast at sister hotell nearby was beautiful though. Lift was out of order during our stay. No little sweets left on pillows or slice of cake in room as per previous visits

Good location close to the Dom. Good breakfast with a huge selection - from Cornflakes to Jaffa cakes. Our room was comfortable and quiet.

Breakfast is served in a neighbouring hotel just up the road. It's fine but busy so they have several sittings. No problem for us but it's not as flexible as other places. You are in the city centre so some street noise is inevitable. Lots of roadworks too so navigating there by car was tricky. Our room was a little bit tired.

Hotel Domstern is located in a street which is 5 minutes walk from the Cologne Central Railway Station, and the Dom is is walking distance as well. The check-in place is in another building with the breakfast place but very close to the accommodation. Its room are well decorated with exquisite wallpaper and furniture, which shows an unique taste. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet is small in its size but supply German food including sausage, cheese and pickles with a characterized “egg manu.

Ideal location, only a few minutes walk from Köln Hbf train station and the Cathedral. Good breakfast - they offer eggs cooked fresh, I had omelette with bacon which was really nice. Room was clean, good shower and ideal for solo traveller.

Basic room, no fridge, no kettle, it does have a hairdryer though. Awful pillows. In the morning I had the cleaner knock on my door twice which was an inconvenience. The check out is 11am which I was making the most of as I had an evening flight. The cleaner knocked on my door at 09:15 to see if I was still there. At 10:10 the cleaner again knocked on my door; I was getting changed and I heard her starting to unlock my door so again I answered and told her I’m leaving in half hour. There isn’t any ‘do not disturb’ hangers for the door.

Breakfast was excellent, the team worked well & efficiency & with justification as nothing at all was negative

I could say the room was small but you have to remember you are in the centre of town & why would you really need anything larger, it would cost significantly more.Garage parking is secure Reception staff very helpful. I will certainly be recommending my friends to stay if they are visiting KOLN. Thanks…. Glyn, England.

Being little more than five minutes on foot from the station, yet on a very quiet street is a definite plus. The spacious lobby area is elegant and stylish and creates an excellent first impression. The hotel is, like many city houses, tall and narrow - thankfully, there is a lift to help reach the upper levels. I had a single room - not spacious, but perfectly adequate and attractively decorated. The bed was comfortable, and closer to a small double-bed in size, than a single. The bathroom, while not the largest, had plenty of space around the sink, and a generous-sized and strong shower - very welcome given the temperature and humidity. Breakfast (served in the sister hotel - Domspitz (No.25) -150m away) was exceptional, with a huge variety on offer - lots of unusual and interesting things, both savoury and sweet. Bread, rolls, croissant , mini-muffins, a range of fruit-juices and a large bowl of fresh fruit-salad, with 2 bowls of lovely yoghurt were just some of the delicious things on offer .Eggs in various guises were offered, and prepared very quickly. One couldn't fail to be impressed - an excellent start to the day..

Because of the weather, the room was very warm and a little stuffy, despite having the windows wide open. Air-conditioning would have been great. It wasn't a big deal, but the reception is in the sister hotel - Domspitz, at No. 25. There's only 150m between the two hotels, but some information about where to check in would be helpful - most people would pass No.25 on the way to the Domstern, and the single traveller would have to retrace their steps, taking luggage with them. However, the young man on the receotion was, like all the staff, cheerful, friendly and welcoming. .
