I stayed here the night before a conference in Athlone with a friend. The location is beautiful opposite the water. We ate in the waterside bar in the evening and ate breakfast in the morning and both were very tasty. The room was very good value too. All of the staff were lovely.

The room was very warm at night with no air conditioning.

Our stay at Hodson Bay was fantastic. The room was quiet, overlooking the Lough and was spotlessly clean. The food was excellent, particularly in the L'Escale restaurant. Above all, the staff were wonderful, from front desk to waiters and waitresses and management. In particular, James Mannion and Dean McKenna and Martin (restaurant manager) went out of their way to make sure everything was as expected. Their staff were fabulous: engaging, polite, friendly and very efficient. We look forward to our next visit.

The breakfast room was a tad noisy and extremely busy but this was school holiday time and there were many families with very excited children! The staff coped brilliantly !!

When we arrived carparking was impossible anywhere close to the hotel. We were on Motorcycles and we enquired if we could park them around the back for security ( as we were aware others had done previously). However a member of staff was summoned to ask if this was possible but he was very dismissive and told us it wouldn't be possible as work was going on. He wasn't able to suggest any alternatives and left us to try and find somewhere ourselves. In the end we found a secure place just outside the bar dining room which was ideal but I don't know why the staff member couldn't have helped or even suggested this spot.

The Hodson Bay Hotel is in a fabulous scenic location and employs staff who are professional, friendly and trained to a very high standard. It is a fabulous place to stay - highly recommend. Room was amazing - adult only wing with waterfront view. Room was huge, fabulous bathroom and room was so comfortable.

Online check-in does not make any difference - you still have to complete forms and queue. Room was not ready, had to wait 45 minutes and then queue again for the keys! Will not bother with online check again. A cleaner knocked on our door 15 mins before checkout to tell us to checkout. Felt this was unnecessary to be honest and unprofessional.

Very comfortable place. We had a quiet room, so we were not disturbed by the wedding. Good location not far from Athlone - by car. Beautiful place in front of the Lough Ree. Good breakfast with choice. A very pleasant stay.

The Brasserie : maybe the ceiling could be designed to absorb the noises. It is difficult to enjoy the dinner when there are too many customers. Large public parking : free but most of the time overcrowded in Summer. You have to be patient to find a place or change your arrival time...

The staff were absolutely exceptional. It was a 5 star service from start to finish. From the bar staff a huge thank you to Robbie, Shane, Sam and Mr Portugal ♥️ you all made our stay so incredibly amazing with your speed and friendliness. The massages in the spa OMG!!!!! THANK YOU to Olga and Victoria and of course Irene and her team. The best service I have ever known. The girls on reception Jennifer and Mary thank you so much. A huge thank you to the chef's. The food was absolutely out of this world. We dined the second night in the restaurant was the best I have ever experienced. It was fine dining with the most incredible food experience. The cocktail class and wine class thank you for a fabulous experience. The breakfast staff could not have been more helpful. Thank you for the best coffee. Overall we can't wait to come back see you soon.

This Hotel is located near the water and is simply superb. The staff are more than helpful and can't do enough to ensure that your stay is a pleasant one. Our room was in the newer part of the building, above the leisure centre. It was fantastic with great views over the water. It was both clean and of a good size for the price paid.

Not much. The only fault we encountered was that the bathroom (which was large and well made with quality fittings) was dark due to some of the lightbulbs had stopped working. Other than that we had nothing to complain about.

The room was spacious clean and comfortable.Beds were excellent. Breakfast was delicious and we got room service. The facilities offered by the hotel were excellent. Staff were courteous and efficient. View from the front of the hotel was stunning.

Our room faced the back of the hotel although they had placed a blind at the lower back of the window we looked out onto the air ducts and vented roof below maybe some window boxes or plants to cover or improve the view. No air con in the hotel fans were provided.

Last minute extra night added to our trip so we chose here. We were in the "Adult only wing" and only that we went down to breakfast the next morning you wouldn't have known the hotel was actually very busy with families and children of all ages, our room was so quiet! There was a gorgeous jacuzzi bath in our room also. We both had lovely treatments in the spa. The pool is also lovely and good to know there are adult only slots for the pool too.

The room was massive and beds very comfortable room very clean. Dinner in the restaurant was exceptional and great value. Cocktails in the bar were good and staff very courteous. Had a massage in the spa which was excellent.

The room was costly for one night and no view of the bay. Couldn't check in early even though I had a spa appointment booked and it would have been easier to put my things in the room and relax after my massage so they were inflexible regarding that.
