The only hotel I will stay in Florence from now on. We spent 5 days there until yesterday 12/05/23, our Most Important thanks is to Margarita, she is the most helpful, valuable and respectful staff you can possibly want. The manager (Trini) was Excellent as well, she explained the history of the hotel, the art in the walls and gave all the information needed during our stay. Breakfast staff in the restaurant is outstanding, food is delicious and so well served. I was book ppl for one night only and as soon as I got there, desired to stay the entire week. The Room!! It Was the room of a princess. The Art, history, clean lines and beauty + the BEST location to all historic places!!

Location, location, location! This place is perfectly situated for everything! It’s very clean, the rooms are very spacious, the staff at the front desk will go above and beyond! They’ll even pack you a breakfast to go, if you plan on starting early to see something outside Florence- they OFFER to do it, we didn’t even think to ask! They’ll help you any way they can, they’ll try to fix an issue or find a work around!

The one part that was not positive, was the breakfast room manager- it’s a woman, and she only asked people of color which room they were staying in. We were there multiple days, never noticed her ask a white person that question- but every time a person of color showed up to have breakfast, she would want to know which room they were staying in- even if the person had been asked that same question the previous few days. In 2025, she really should be more aware to how her actions might be perceived. Either ask everyone, or no one.

First off the staff at this hotel are so professional, friendly, accommodating, and informative. I honestly consider them friends now. I absolutely loved this Boutique style hotel. The breakfast was perfect. I drink only decaf and the staff were more than accommodating, making me a decaf cappuccino every morning … When you don’t have to ask for it, and they remember what you like...you know you’re in the right place . The location of this hotel was perfect. My daughter was studying at the Florence University of Arts and it was a very short walk. It also was a perfect location for the Duomo, shopping, restaurants, and museums. No need to rent a car!

Honestly, There isn’t anything I did not like.

It was a charming room with a large tub. Interesting property & interior. Quite liked the original art in the room and corridor. The included breakfast was pleasant enough. Nothing amazing. Scrambled eggs not great. The room was spacious in comparison to other rooms I’ve stayed at in Europe. Staff was friendly. There were free candies and Prosecco to sample near the well functioning elevator. The room view had a lovely courtyard. The room was a bit noisy one night from a next door room but otherwise it was fairly quiet. The location was quite central.. I found the room quite clean too. I would recommend.

The hotel is very comfortable with large rooms and a comfortable bed. We were treated with Prosecco and little cakes while we waited for our room to be ready. Our room was one of the largest I have ever been in while in Europe with double sinks and a huge tub in the bath. The people at the desk were very helpful.

A continental breakfast was provided with quite a variety of foods (unfortunately some were less than warm). It took us until the last day to understand the A/C system. Windows and the wooden doors covering them must be closed for it to work. We called daily about it, but didn’t know that the wooden doors had to be closed.

We could not be happier with our stay at Il Guelfo Bianco. From easy booking online to the amazing staff (Both Francescos, Margherita, and Carlo at Front Desk, and Umair at Breakfast) our vacation was much more enjoyable because of our accommodations. Everyone we encountered was wonderful and eager to make our stay comfortable. They even provided an extra hair blower and electric tea kettle. Also, the breakfast was so good and fresh each day. We loved the yogurt, fruit, cereal and cappuccino machine.

We would have loved a full length mirror in our room 203. The one in the bathroom could only be used once inside with the door closed. Also, the scrambled eggs were a bit dry and we would have liked another hot option like oatmeal/porridge or waffles. Also, a non-dairy milk option would have been nice. Definitely nothing that would keep us from going back again. :)

Our room, 120, was quirky! 5 stone steps between toilet and sleeping area - not for everyone and perhaps guests should be asked if that's ok beforehand. No safe in spite of that being advertised. Would be good to have a small shelf in shower area to put toiletries on instead of having to reach down to the floor for shower gel, shampoo, conditioner. A lamp at each side of the bed would also be good.

The location was close to all the main sites and is in a safe neighborhood. The room was a good size for 3 people. The air conditioner worked fine after I asked the front desk to turn it up. The breakfast was very good except for the scrambled eggs that were always crumbly and dry. Good thing there were hard boiled eggs. The front desk printed out our boarding passes for us and called a taxi for us. They also gave restaurant recommendations. Glad there is an elevator even though its small.

The partial shower door. A lot of hotels in Europe have the smaller doors so the floor would always get wet if you didn't aim the shower head towards the opposite side.

The hotel is very conveniently located within walking distance of the Duomo and David. It was about 10-15 min to the train station, which was how we arrived. It is just outside the pedestrian area, but if you head either north to the Gallery or south towards the Duomo, you're in a beautiful car-free zone in minutes. There is a little market/grocery-convenient store across the street. Breakfast was delicious and fresh. We ate it inside rather than in the cute courtyard because it was so hot while we were visiting. AC worked great!

comfortable bed, excelent stuff, italian part of the breakfast was excelent(pastry , caffe, mozzarela di buffala, prosciuto, welcome proseco...) You can skip the eggs. The big bonus for the entire environment are are paintings on the walls allaround. Nice exhibition of modern art. We truly enjoyed this unexpected gift in this antic and authentic Firentine hotel. Bravo🤩

please try to accomodate older guests ( we were two couples 70+ ) on the level with elevator without additional stairs to get to the assigned rooms.
