Palermo is an ancient city and nothing helps you appreciate that more than the fact that the B&B is in a building that dates back to the Phoenicians, (6th century B.C.) Vestiges of the punic wall are still visible. Marica is an elegant and gracious hostess and she blends the ancient with the modern into a fabulous and comfortable stay. Cooking is her passion and she treated us to Scaccia Ragusana, a traditional savory flat bread from southeastern Sicily, which was the best we had in all of Sicily, to include Ragusa. She also prepared the traditional Sicilian almond granita for us, (delicious.) The location is superb, just steps from Via Maqueda, which represents the main axis of the historic centre and provides access to a number of historic sights- only eight minute walk to the Teatro Massimo. You'll also be able to easily access markets and enjoy the famous Palermo street food. If you're a fan, it's a perfect location to embark on the Rick Steves' Palermo City Walk and his recommended Streaty Food Tour. Our room was spacious, beautifully decorated, with a comfortable bed, chic, modern bathroom and outdoor patio. We rented a car and the parking provided is exceptional and secure. Warning, Google maps is useless in Palermo, but Marica provides excellent directions. We stayed two nights and in addition to the historic centre, it was an excellent location to explore Mt. Pellegrino for fabulous views and Mondello Beach, to enjoy the eclectic art nouveau style villas, some by Ernesto Basile, the architect of the Teatro Massimo.There is an abundance of graffiti in the neighborhood, to which I think most Americans, (like us,) are unaccustomed and may find concerning, but do not let that alarm you - the location is extremely safe, upscale and quite posh. Take Marica's recommendation to venture three minutes from the B&B to a traditional, family run trattoria for dinner and partake of the gelato across the street for dessert.

This place has definitely hit the spot and went far beyond my expectations in all areas - sophisticated yet comfortable home, indeed a special atmosphere, coziness and above all the hospitality of the owner. I would give it 11 out of possible 10 scale mark. Definitely stay there with breakfast included and enjoy unforgettable experience that will stay with you forever. You will fall in love with Palermo and big part of it will come through the experience of staying at 'Atmofere Punuche' which is also in the heart of the city yet this gem is hidden in a quiet and magical street lit with colorful lanterns lights. Best thing I could do for my Birthday was to stay there....-)

Our host was amazing and provided an outstanding service. Her love of ensuring her guests we comfortable was appreciated. Freshly cooked breakfast varied each day with a taste of Sicilian cuisine made it extra special. Highly recommend staying here.

There was nothing not to like about the property. Lots of room and comfortable, however if you get a taxi do ensure that they take you right to the front door of the accommodation because this is possible. Be prepared to walk up a hill of about 50 metres from the Main Street to the accommodation. Look out for a large wooden door and better signage to say you have arrived would be helpful

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this amazing accommodation in Palermo, and I must say it was an experience I'll cherish forever. The location was perfect in the old part & in the middle of plenty of bars & restaurants. It was up a side street so was very quiet & easily walkable to all the touristy bits of Palermo.Breakfast was very nice, bowl of chopped fruit & croissant with butter & variety of jams. Second morning we got a roll with ham, cheese & sundried tomatoes & 3rd morning it was a flatbread/wrap heated with cheese & ham. A coffee machine was available all day with biscuits. The host was very knowledgeable about the area & recommending restaurants etc.

There was a mesh screen on the bedroom window I imagine for flies/mossies & we were also on the street level but it meant we could not see what was outside. We were out all day so it wasn’t really a problem. We did notice the fitted under sheet on the bed had been mended but very badly & a tile had come off in the shower.

We stayed at the B&B for 2 nights with another couple. Atmosfere Puniche B&B is like an art museum! Our host Mariangela has it decorated so beautiful with so much unique and beautiful furniture and art! She is such a gracious host and really loves to have people at her B&B. The breakfasts were great and different each morning! It was a little chilly weather so we sat inside for our breakfast. We did invite some friends over to see her beautiful home and we sat out on the patio. She gave several recommendations on sites to see and a restaurant which we enjoyed. Mariangela was the best host and always wearing a smile! Would totally recommend staying at her B&B!

This is a fabulous B&B in the heart of Palermo and we cannot recommend it highly enough. Our host, Marika, and her staff were fantastic. They were very warm and welcoming, made us feel at home and nothing was too much trouble. Our room (and the entire B&B) were extremely comfortable, spacious and very clean. Marika is also an amazing chef. We enjoyed fabulous breakfasts which were freshly prepared and different every day. The location is perfect to explore the city and Marika made great recommendations on where to visit and eat. A real gem in the heart of Palermo and we would thoroughly recommend this B&B for a stay in Palermo. Thank you Marika, we will be back!

It was our absolute delight to be welcomed so warmly into Marika’s beautifully restored home/b&b in the heart of Palermo city. Everything about the house was just perfect, from Marika’s love for it's history (there is a restored byzantine baptismal font) to her love of art which is ever present in the wonderful décor throughout. Our room was spotlessly clean and extremely comfortable. Marika is the perfect host, from her cooking (she made a special dairy free breakfast for me) to her restaurant recommendations (we returned to one recommendation 3 times!!). This b&b is perfect, my only regret is that we only stayed one night. Thank you again Marika, we will definitely return.

What an amazing place! Marika is the most fabulous host & the pictures really don't do justice to the space, it's truly magical. Breakfasts were extraordinary, she makes different things every day & is an excellent cook. Great to sit & meet other guests, like staying with your favourite family. Location is quiet but very central to all the sights. Lots of nice places to eat & drink around the corner.

The room we had didn't have a view but it didn't matter because inside the flat is so gorgeous, there is a wonderful living room & terrace to use along with other guests.

What a find. Palermo is a fantastic city, full of contradictions, noisy, exciting, dirty, stunning, so rich in history and the food!!! Honestly, I can say it is the best city we have ever visited. Atmosfere Puniche is a real haven, located bang in the centre of the old town. Quiet, very comfortable, luxurious with a delightful courtyard garden. However what makes this place wonderful is Marika, so friendly, so funny and nothing is too much trouble. The breakfasts are outstandingly good, made with quality Sicilian ingredients. This is truly a special place, you will not regret booking.
