Il Belvedere is located in small town called Torno on the shores of the Lago di Como. Location of the hotel is right on the shore and you have a look on the small marina with boats. Room had a lake view on the forementioned marina. Staff is exceptional: a) we were a bit late after the check-in time because of a crash on Milano highway but there were no problems, they even helped us with carrying luggage from the car to the hotel because parking lot is hundred meters from the entrance to the hotel, b) we were able to reserve a late dinner, c) on the short notice they helped us with printing tickets for Fiera Milano. Great service all together. Restaurant is cozy, dinner meals were delightful and wine was good. I would recommend it if you want to be away from the bigger cities like Milano or Como, right at the lake, with great view on the lake and surrounding mountains.

The best service I’ve received in a hotel anywhere. The staff were friendly, attentive and genuinely appear to enjoy helping every guest have the best experience. The bedroom and bathroom were spacious, there was an elevator for bags, 2 restaurants, a great pizza place (hole in the wall) and a bar + ferry nearby. The continental breakfast in the morning every day was great and I recommend the veal Milanese + Ben Rye dessert wine for dinner. Top tip - make sure to call the hotel in advance with your exact arrival time to get a small jeep to pick you up as it’s difficult to access the hotel down a steep hill).

The Il Belvedere is a true oasis of peace and tranquility. You will be greeted warmly upon arrival and cared for with genuine sincerity throughout your entire stay. Located directly on the lake, you will experience a visually picturesque and auditory feast from all angles! The property is perfect for relaxing and point of return from exploring which is easy to do through various means of reliable transportation available. The Il Belvedere is an extension of its natural environment, both rustic and elegant. You feel connected with the vibe of the lake and its town, Torno. And the cuisine of both of their restaurants is amazing!!!

There is absolutely nothing not to like or love about this property! It is just a perfect place to rest and enjoy.

Perfect location with great views from our balcony of the lake and surrounding mountains. It was also fascinating to see the ferry coming and going and the mixture of people walking around the tiny harbour. After the last tourist left, late afternoon the square became quieter with just local residents enjoying the sunset and the few restaurants. The hotel staff were unobtrusive but always available to help when needed. Perfect design in all aspects of the rooms. To top it all a great buffet breakfast to enjoy while looking over the lake….

The hotel is truly lovely and so, so clean. The staff is really the highlight though. What a delightful group of people working there, from the owners to the front desk staff to the waiters - everyone was so kind and helpful. They really all work together so well, it made the whole stay warm and familial.

This isn’t the hotel’s fault, but I booked our stay at Il Belvedere because there is a ferry stop right outside. Unfortunately the dock is being renovated and so the ferry doesn’t come there. We were sort of stuck there unless we wanted to drive, so we didn’t see as much of the lake as we’d hoped. Also, our room’s thermostat and temperature control was not working properly. We were very warm, and leaving the windows open isn’t possible because of the noise outside.

I was looking for somewhere to take my partner, to celebrate his special birthday and I had spent hours researching hotels/accommodation around Lake Como. It was then that I struck gold in finding Il Belvedere so I booked it well in advance of our planned journey. From the start I had high hopes for this gem of a find as communication with Chiara was fantastic. She was patient, kind and incredibly helpful in answering questions and offering suggestions. Even before arriving at Il Belvedere it felt a truly warm place. We were driving to the hotel and I understood that parking was 400m away and that steps would be involved but a car would collect our luggage from the rendezvous point should we need it. I was easily able to request parking and the instructions for this were very clear. As it was my partner's big birthday, I asked if there was anything I could arrange to be in the room when we arrived. Chiara explained that wine or Prosecco could be waiting for us in the room! I chose the Prosecco. Each request was dealt with with care. In advance of our arrival, Chiara messaged to confirm final arrangements. When we arrived, we called the hotel and a wonderfully friendly gentleman arrived to take our luggage. Watching him navigate the Jeep down to the square was amazing! We walked down behind him and when we reached the square, we were blown away by the beauty and serenity of the location. Reviews and photographs are great but how do you capture a feeling, until you are there? We were warmly greeted by Chiara and she explained everything we needed to know about our stay. She then showed us to our suite and, once again, we were speechless. Our room was stunning. It was light, airy, scrupulously clean and decorated beautifully. It had everything we could possibly want/need. However, the main draw of this particular room was the views and large terrace, just for us. It was a perfect place to retreat to to drink our Prosecco.

Breakfast was more than we needed. The one was like young woman who staffed a breakfast service was so friendly and always had a smile on her face. We had room the room concordia. Blew us away with the water view on three sides of the room. the room was amazing, the housekeeper, as we passed her, always had a smile on her face. Staff at the reception desk always had a smile on their face and were more than accommodating. This hotel exceeded our expectations. We ate dinner at bar Italia across the parking lot, as the restaurant was closed the day we arrived. We did eat dinner in the restaurant the rest of our stay. Staff in the restaurant were so friendly and accommodating. The food I would give a 10 out of 10. We cannot say enough good things about this hotel. We are looking to book next October to come back.

We loved this hotel. The location is amazing, the staff were really friendly, the room was exceptionally clean and up-to-date. The beds were really comfy. We had a family room, and the kids beds were off in a separated area, which was fab. We had a balcony which was great to sit on and watch the ferry come in and out. The breakfasts were well stocked (including chocolate brownie, which my son thought was fab!).

The hotel is in pedestrian area, so we knew we'd have to park the car a little way away. There is no specific parking for the hotel, so you have to find what you can in the little car park up the hill, which we had trouble doing as there weren't many parking spaces and it is a tight squeeze. It would be great if the hotel could secure some parking of its own, even if it were just a few spaces. The evening meal in the restaurant was lovely, but quite 'high end' and fancy, it would be good if they were able to offer something that was perhaps a bit more 'family friendly'. Having said that, it was a fantastic meal.

Location is amazing and the staff were extremely friendly, going out of their way to assist us in any way they could. The room was quite large, but not particularly pretty. However, once you walked on the terrace the lake view was rewarding. The bathroom could also benefit from some modernisation. There is also dedicated secure parking, although it is a bit of a walking distance from the hotel

You can not reach the hotel by car so you rely on them sending someone to assist with the luggage. Also it is located around 6Km from Como centre and the road leading to the hotel is a bit of an experience (narrow and quite windy requiring frequent stops when cars cross from opposite directions)

This property was just perfect. It's located right next to the ferry port on the edge of the water. We had the King room with a lake view and that view was amazing! The room was vary spacious with a private balcony overlooking the lake. The breakfast was great and served in a room with a beautiful view of the lake.

Torno is a gorgeous town, but it's very small, so there is not a lot to do in the town. The ferries can get you to other towns on the lake, but they can be crowded or sold out.
