It is a charming little hotel, we quite liked our room. The bathroom was a good size. It feels older which was nice for getting into the spirit of things. There is a great roof top deck with views of the grand canal and the roofs of Venice. Very easy to get to from the train station (although we took a water bus due to not wanting to deal with the stairs for the big bridge stairs across the grand canal due to our heavy luggage, you could also hire a porter to help). There is a hotel Ca'Nigra where you check in which is nice as well.

It would be nice if there was reception in the hotel. The internet was very poor.

We arrived by water taxi at the Ca' Negra, the adjoining 4* sister hotel with grdens on the Grand Canal - we were thrilled to discover that we were able to use these facilities and that the hospitality was in the Ca' Negra. We enjoyed drinks by the Grand Canal and breakfast. The staff were extremely charming and helpful. Close to main transport hubs, but also you were straight in the back streets with the cafes and restaurants. Slightly off the main tourist track

rooms were very small - but that's what we paid for! Other than that it's really hard to fault the Ai Due Fanali.

Great location close to the train station. Clean room and friendly staff that walked us to the room upon arrival at the front desk of the hotel. I do not recommend sleeping with the window open because of mosquitoes in Venice. The mosquitoes are not the fault of the hotel so I am not mentioning it as a negative because they are a due to being in a location surrounded by water. I just want to make sure others don’t make the mistake we made the first night.

The hotel is well located close to santa lucia train station and also to a vaporetto station. The reception staff was very helpful. When we booked this room we knew it was small, however all the facilities were available (minibar, airconditioning, bathroom equipped with all essential and a hair dryer) even a view of the grand canal which was great. The wifi was also great. Absolutely great value for money.

Nothing that really bothered me. But there was a slight smell in the room, i think from the aircondition. The walls of the room are thin so you can hear adjacent rooms.

The location is perfect as it is very close to the train, no dragging luggage all over town or getting lost. This hotel is the overflow hotel for CaNigra (which i have also stayed at and loved however no rooms were available), but you are allowed to use and enjoy the CaNigra property (canal front garden) and can have breakfast, for a fee at CaNigra.

This was the smallest hotel room I have ever stayed in. Literally, difficult to have an open suitcase, let alone 2. Tiny bathroom and tiny shower. That said, it served the purpose and we did not spend much time in our rooms. It would not stop me from staying here again.

The receptionist allowed us to enter our room far ahead of our check-in time which was a blessing because we had travelled on a long train ride and wanted to freshen up. The hotel is only a short walk from the train station which is great if you’re travelling to a few cities in Italy. On our last evening we used rooftop terrace and enjoyed a bottle of wine we’d picked up in Bologna and it was one of our favourite nights of the whole trip. We can’t wait to stay at this hotel again in the future!

N/A - this hotel is perfect!

Location is great, just 5 mins walk from Train station. However, its around 20 mins by walk to the Basilica and most of the attractions, but we didn't mind as walking the streets of Venice was a treat :D Bathroom was small but well kept.

Room was quite small. Bed was comfortable but pillows were very flat.. Hairdryer was useless as it was very weak.

The hotel is in an excellent location - a short walk from Santa Lucia Station, in Santa Croce, which is more local than tourist. Even though tourists haven’t returned en masse since covid. The rooms have an abundance of historical flavour, with large windows that open to the piazza San Simeon. The elaborate brocade curtains in each room are from a local, very exclusive and expensive company called Bevilaqua, very famous throughout Italy. A very small elevator makes access easy. The beds and linen are extremely comfortable- our twin beds made for comfortable separate sleeping, yet together. The front desk staff at Ca Nigra was superb. Some of my photos here are from the Ca Nigra lobby and courtyard, to which Ai Fanali guests have complete access, as well as their canal side garden. Just gorgeous.

The rooftop patio for breakfast is closed, due to covid, and with no coffee maker or kettle for morning wake up it was extremely inconvenient. Again, many businesses haven’t survived covid, so we had to walk 12 minutes to a pasticceria for cappucino, at 4 euros each. But just across the canal from that is a lovely Conad grocery store, that fulfilled most of our other needs. Ai Due FANALI is part of the Simeon Group, of which Hotel Ca Nigra is lead. The restaurant in that hotel is open, but expensive for breakfast at 20 euros per person per day. Also the wifi at Fanali was very very poor on floors 1 and 2. But the front desk compensated us.

The hotel was old, but good: strategic location (3-minute walk to the Santa Lucia train station & bus stop) but a bit far from tourism objects (we didn't mind because we only stayed there a night). The check-in process was done in the other hotel accross it, which was a bit confusing, but it was okay! Everything was great for us. Thank you for the hospitality!

The shower was too small, but we love the interior!

We stayed across the courtyard in their sister hotel. Ask for a ground floor room and you'll get access to outdoor space or a canal view! Great value for money in an expensive location
