The location was perfect. Easy to get in and out of. Right off the highway. The property is located outside Beckley but only about 4.5 miles from food and shopping. The staff at the hotel was amazing. They were so accommodating and ensured we had what we need at check-in. Also placed us close to another family we were traveling with, which was nice.

The hotel is undergoing renovation so there is alot of construction. Not the fault of the staff, which took this brunt from other travelers checking in ahead of me. The renovation did not impact the stay. For breakfast they have a grab and go which is more than acceptable.

I love the location. It's out of the way and not so noisy. There are several restaurants that deliver only a few miles away, if you'd rather eat in. The bedding was clean, comfortable, and warm and there were four pillows on each bed! I also love the fact the hotel allows my dog - who travels with me everywhere. (This was our second stay at The Sleep Inn Beaver-Beckley.) On an additional note, there is a fairly large lawn in front of the hotel, where I can walk with my dog in the morning and in evening before we retire. To me, that is a huge perk! So much better than walking my dog around in a parking lot!

My room was on the second floor at the end of the hall near the stairwell. (I have no complain about the room.) The only downside was the loud slam of the exterior door every time someone departed or entered the building. I heard it much of the night since the hotel seem to be near capacity. I am guessing the Continental breakfasts were bagged due to Covid? (Question not a complaint.) They were labeled and arranged neatly on a table in the breakfast room. I have to admit, it was kind of strange finding a cooked cheese omelette in a ziplock bag along with a pastry inside a brown paper sack. But, if that's what we need to do in these times, it's fine with me.

Breakfast was pretty good; room was clean and serviceable. The desk folks did us a huge favor by calling us when they found my son's airpods. Fortunately we were going to be headed back by the area, so we did not lose too much time. Big props to the Sleep Inn staff for preventing a loss of a non-trivial item.

I thought the decor was much nicer and more updated than most other hotels I've stayed in. It was calming green and neutral tones with nature photography on the walls. The facilities were also very clean. The staff was very kind and helpful. They gave my dog treats both when I checked in and checked out. The hotel has very easy access from the highway as well.

I wish they had better breakfast options, but it was limited due to currently ongoing renovations.

Room was clean and fairly well kept. Staff was friendly and accommodating when we requested to be on a main floor. Breakfast was decent.

The room needs some updating. It felt mostly well done with an exception being the pocket door to the bathroom and the handiwork surrounding it. It was clearly the wrong door, did not slide properly and was scraping against the interior, flaking paint everywhere and giving off a scuzzy-landlord vibe. The fridge was so loud that we had to unplug it to sleep.

Great price, nicely updated, clean rooms. Good location for getting to the Sandstone Falls and the Grandview locations of the New River Gorge National Park, and to the Tamarack Marketplace for West Virginia artisans. Breakfast was good too. The staff went above and beyond when my husband realized he didn't have his phone, and when we called the hotel, the person at the desk personally found it in the bathroom by the breakfast area where he had dropped it!

Our 1st floor room was right outside the smoking gazebo, so we had to keep our drapes closed for privacy.

Breakfast was a loss. Not much was offered, Coffee was excellent. This factor reduced my rating.

If a breakfast is offered in the advertising one should be served. I do not consider a bagel and cereal or a make your own waffle a breakfast. I really did not care as I wanted to eat at a restaurant in town so it was no big deal.

Close friends told us about Sleep Inn Beaver/Beckley. We’ve stayed in other hotels in the area on our way to NC, but the area and the hotel were getting run down, so we thought we would try Sleep Inn. The breakfast was ok, but I did miss getting a waffle. (The hotel down the road still serves an open continental breakfast. The staff were friendly and the room was comfortable. My wife noticed that they had several bird feeders for the birds. That was nice and a hidden sign that they care. We were pleased and would stay there again.

Miss the open continental breakfast, but what they offered was nice. My knees give me some trouble and having a room on the second floor was a slight disadvantage. Next time I’ll ask for a room on the main floor.
