I had an exceptional stay at this hotel, exceeding the city's usual standards. The room was impressively spacious and well laid out, featuring an inside garden that added a zen touch to the ambiance. The bed was remarkably comfortable, and the little tea corner in the room provided a perfect spot to unwind. The bathroom, equipped with a magnificent bathtub, further enhanced the overall experience. In addition to the exceptional room, the hotel's location is superb, with easy access to numerous bus stops and the metro station, making it convenient to explore the city. Situated at the city center, it offers a perfect blend of luxury and accessibility.

While the hotel offers a fantastic stay with its spacious and well-designed rooms, the only downside is that it hosts numerous travel groups. This can occasionally make the lobby quite busy, but the overall experience and comfort of the room make it a worthwhile choice.

The hotel has a spacious room which is quite larger compared to the usual room size in Japan. General ambiance is very nice and fitting to the city. There is a kombini just next to the hotel. Shijo and Karasuma subway stations are within the walking (~5mins) distance.

Almost nothing. The hotel is close to the main attractions. There are several bus stations around. Shijo and Karasuma subway stations are close as well. Only difficulty might be, if you are traveling with large luggage and arriving to the city by shinkansen, then taking subway to Shijo station may not be the best option. You just need to walk a bit in Kyoto station to access to the Karasume line and then also walk to the hotel. I would suggest taking bus instead which is just stopping in front of the hotel.

We were at awe once we entered our room. It has the traditional feel with a modern touch. The tatami mats made us feel like we stayed at a ryokan. Very classy room for the price we paid. Although not central Kyoto, there are 2 bus stops within a minute walk and one directly outside the entrance. Makes it easy for us to travel around. Also liked that it’s only a 15 minute bus ride to Gion and Nishiki market also a 10 minute walk to the nearest subway station. Will definitely stay again the next time we visit.

Very effective hotel with great value for money. Rooms are small, but big comfortable bed. Everything there that you need. Staff is very friendly and helpful, Wifi works very well. Parking right opposite for 1,600 JPY overnight. Location very good with walking distance (ok, maybe 20-30 minutes) to Nikishi market and shopping district. Alternatively you can ride the bus 2-3 stations. Bus stop from Kyoto station directly in front of hotel (number 90 or 95, I forgot).

Not much actually. The two washers in the second floor are always full and not very effective, but there is a washing saloon literally 5 minutes away.

A Gem in Kyoto's Heart ♥️ A Haven of Modern Comfort and Traditional Charm Having spent six weeks traversing Japan and staying in over 20 hotels, I can confidently say Agora Kyoto Kamaruma stands out as a truly exceptional experience. Nestled in the heart of Kyoto, this fairly new four-star property seamlessly blends modern design with calming Japanese influences. 🌟 Modern Meets Tranquility The hotel's interior boasts beautiful colors and stunning Japanese rock art, creating a visually captivating yet serene ambiance. The rooms, while perfectly sized for solo travelers or couples, are a revelation. They're not just spacious; they feature the most comfortable beds I've encountered in all of Japan. 🌟 Exceptional Service Beyond Expectations What truly elevates Agora is the impeccable Kyoto service. The staff embodies the essence of Japanese hospitality, making you feel like royalty even in a four-star setting. Manager June Mantsui deserves special recognition. From the moment I arrived, his genuine warmth and attentiveness ensured a truly comfortable and unforgettable stay. It's no wonder the hotel receives such rave reviews! 🌟 Convenience at Your Doorstep Location is key, and [Hotel Name] doesn't disappoint. Situated in the heart of Kyoto, you'll find two supermarkets, three mini-marts, and bus lines all within easy reach. Whether you're exploring the city or relaxing in your haven, everything you need is at your fingertips. A 9.5 Out of 10 🌟 If you seek a hotel that excels in cleanliness, cutting-edge design, authentic Japanese elements, undeniable convenience, and unparalleled service, look no further than Agora Kyoto Karasuma It's a 9.5 out of 10 for me, and I can't recommend it highly enough.

The waiting room was a bit large with no place to enjoy food. Seems like a waste of space.

The location of the hotel is good, very close to main street with trains, food places and shopping. Staff was polite and friendly. Room was quite big for JP standards. It was very modern, elegant and chick. Room felt well ventilated and it was clean. Breakfast was good, it was very similar selection every day but very tasty and we won't say no to salmon every day. Nice touch with free drinks in the reception available 24/7. Also having a nice tea set including small tea pot and green tea, and bottled water provided within the room was a nice bonus.

Not a major issue but the small downside was that the room did not have natural light, which is not a massive issue as we were our most of the day but felt a bit strange to wake up and not be able to see the sky outside and what the weather was like.

I stayed in this hotel for 7 nights using the large room on the 10th floor with the little tree in the middle of the room. the room was large and comfortable, nothing was missing. from towels to razor blades, toothbrush, slippers, pajamas etc. I used the laundry room, very convenient. the location of the hotel is excellent, the bus stops allow you to reach any place. as soon as you leave the hotel there is a family mart and on the other side of the avenue a larger fresh supermarket. I had a great time, especially with the staff who I found very helpful and kind. I didn't feel well the first day and they kindly helped me by saving me. they managed to get me an appointment at a hospital with a doctor who spoke English and even called a taxi to take me there quickly. excellent. I don't know how to thank them! I highly recommend! Thanks again for your service!

Everything was ok!

Nice looking Hotel. Everything is nice and clean! Very friendly employees. The room design was great and offered more space than other rooms we had on our trip. Sink, shower and restrooms were separate from each other. That came in handy and saved a lot time! It's super close to the center and there is a bus station right around the corner, aswell as a super market. So everything you need for your trips in and out of the city. Would recommend the Hotel and come back anytime 5/5

The only thing I disliked is the laundry machine situation in the hotel. It's very cool that they have those 2 machines and you are free to use them for a few yens. The problem is that you lock the machine after turning it on with an individual code so it can't be opened by anybody. Since it's fact that most tourists are not able to interact in a social adequate manner, they block the laundry machine the whole day instead of just setting an alarm on their cellphone to remind them when to be back. This is on the tourists though and not on the hotel or the employees. Still it would be good to choose a different mechanism for those laundry machines. Anyway there is a laundry store less than 100 meters down the road. So if you need to take care of it, just go there!

The we loved the style and atmosphere of Agora. Nereby are some cute spots and close to transport routes. The room was clean and had all the amenities you needed plus extras like tooth brush, hair brush and face cloths.

We struggled with the pillows, they are so hard and we both had stiff necks and back. We asked for softer pillow but got flat memory foam ones which wasn’t great. Breakfast was below the expected quality, it reminded me of airplane food. We also couldn’t figure out how to turn off the heated toilet seat which I’m sure is great for winter but was terrible in 37 degree weather. Aircon also doesn’t really work well, the dehumidifier in the room is what we relied on.
