Location was very convenient and a short walk to nearby station as well restaurants, shopping, and entertainment. The room (except for the bathroom) was clean and comfortable and the staff were very pleasant.

The bathroom, while not overtly unclean, was somewhat smelly and unpleasant to be in for extended periods of time. There were also signs of mould on the bathtub edge, which made us very uncomfortable.

I stayed at Ibis Style Kyoto Shinjo for four days and definitely enjoyed my stay. Fantastic location, just a short walk to the nearest underground station which takes you to the main commercial area, and a bus stop across the street where you can take buses to most of Kyoto's famous temples and shrines. Also a coffee shop right next door and a lot of convenient stores nearby. Clean and cozy room. Comfort bed for those who prefer a firmer mattress. The room has a fridge and an e-locker. I requested a quiet room and they did give me a quiet room where I was able to have nice sleep every night. Really friendly staffs! I was greeted with warm welcomes :) (I see complaints about room size but I think the single room is just enough for 1 person)

1. Friendly staff, extra care of special hygiene, which is very important for visitors. 2. A small room - a single room, but very clean and bright. The windows open onto the road. It’s noisy during the day, but it’s good that they open up, as in other hotels they don’t. In all honesty, it is important. 3. The room has a refrigerator, kettle, hairdryer. 4. Everything is new. 5. The food in the photographs is buffet style, but there are actually two types to choose from at the restaurant. The food and choice are small, but tasty and hearty. 6. What’s even more important is that there is a lot of traffic in the distance - for example, 20 minutes away from the Kyoto station, and on the central street, where there are a very large number of restaurants and supermarkets. If you go straight ahead, you can go to Gion. Hotel is better than Ibis Kyoto Station!

The best IBIS Hotel in the world! LOCATION This hotel is in the downtown region of Kyoto, perfect for touring the sites, eating out and taking a leisurely walk along the main shopping road. There is a bus stop outside the hotel which connects to Kyoto main station as well as the tourists attractions in the downtown area. ROOM Big room which was clean and comfortable. PJs supplied. There are plenty of amenities in the hotel lobby such lotions, teas, coffees, toothbrushes etc. STAFF/HOTEL The staff are welcoming and informative. We were able to store our bags while we toured the area after check out.

The local buses are not that frequent after 11pm so if you are looking for connections late at night be prepared to grab a taxi.

The hotel is in a very good location, near everything! So very easy to get something to eat at anytime. Many restaurants around the hotel and if you walk a bit, you can find many more. The room was okay clean but can be improved.

The air conditioner was working but it takes some time to blow the correct air (cold or hot). The air flow is very low in my opinion but staff told me every rooms was the same.

Hotel is easy to find, and in a great central location so it was the perfect base for exploring all over the city. Lobby is simple, staff were pleasant and everything went smoothly. As anticipated, the room was fairly compact. However, this is not necessarily a drawback. The space was very well utilised, and as I had little luggage I liked the cosy feeling. The bathroom was excellent. I appreciated that I could open the window, albeit only a little, as I hate not having access to fresh air.

The only drawback was that in specific parts I felt the cleaning was not up to a good standard. The carpet in the room still had hair stuck in some areas, presumably from previous guest(s). The storage in the bathroom was not thoroughly cleaned enough, I could see dust and other particles. However, these were things I that didn't bother me enough to contact staff.

Ibis is always the best hotel choice for litte money!! The room was big enough, the beds were great, there were a lot of Extras! The staff Was friendly and helpful. The location is great!!! Supermarkts and restaurants for different budgets nearby...The metro was under 10 minutes walk.

Typically efficient, clean Japanese style, Ibis style hotel. Friendly, helpful staff.

The description on booking.com site is not correct: there is no restaurant on site and there is no American breakfast. If you get a "breakfast included" rate, they give you a voucher for an independent coffee shop next door which is only valid for a hot dog, small salad and one drink. Very different from every other Ibis that I have stayed in (at least 8) which serves a good breakfast on site.

Central location was great, room very comfy, all amenities there. Very convenient for us, plenty of restaurants nearby.

Tully coffee breakfast disappointing. Two set meals offered which got boring if you are staying more than 2-3 days. Western, no Japanese option. No lounge area other than sparse reception to meet and chat with friends.

It’s been the third time I stayed in this hotel. Convenient location, nice decorations and facilities. Helpful staff made a phone call on behalf of us for taxi reservation as we don’t speak Japanese. I always love the entrance of the hotel which blends Japanese architecture and nature, please don’t alter it!
