We were here for 6 nights. Location was perfect for much sightseeing on foot. Nishiki markets just round the corner. The HK line a stone's throw aeay. And a 20-30 minute walk to the Nijo-jo or Imperial palaces. Short walk to many, many restaurants and bars. Sounds like it would be noisy but it was really quiet. Staff were always welcoming. Breakfast were very good and some dishes changed each day. They provide a range of pillows and pj's. They also have a guest laundry which was great given the summer heat and humidity in Kyoto (we went thru twice as many clothes as usual...). Rooms had usb connections near the bed and a multi connctor on the desk - these were great as you didn't have to get out your adapters. The 'blackout' blind was really good given it was daylight at 5 am. Room cleaning was also great. If you wanted your room cleaned then put the sign on the door. If you just wanted new towels then put the dirty ones outside your door. Checkout was at 11 am but they stored our luggage while we did final shopping.

Free drinks from 6pm to 8pm. Sake and whiskey. No beer or wine. And in the breakfast room so no ambience at all. Not worth it (even for free...) given all the great bars and restaurants surrounding the hotel. Bathroom is very 'compact' like being in an RV. This is not a complaint just a 'heads up' to future guests.

It was hard to find initially because the hotel is tucked in a small street but it was a very convenient place to stay as a tourist. It is super close to Kyoto-Kawaramachi/Shijo-Kawaramachi and a short walk from Gion-Shijo, so it was easy to take a variety of buses and trains. Nishiki Market is in walking distance as well. I liked that it was off the main road so it was quiet at night. The hotel was very nice. It was clean and the blackout curtains worked very well (important point for jet-lagged travellers). I also really enjoyed the sento/public bath. There were separate times for men and women. During the women's time the bath was protected by a code which you could get every day at the front desk, along with some extra amenities. The breakfast was good too. There were Japanese and Western style options. Bonus perk — you could trade unused toothbrushes for candy! The staff were all super friendly as well. I would recommend this place and would definitely stay again.

Location was great, very near to Dotonburi and many izakayas surrounding the hotel. Ichiran is within 5 mins walk. Staff was very helpful and can communicate fluently in various languages. The hotel is really new and aesthetic. The bed was the most comfortable out of the 3 hotels we stayed in Japan. We had a free breakfast coupon and the spread was lovely offering many types of salad and even affagato. Free flow coffee from a coffee machine whole day at lobby area A pity the laundry room is under renovation so we had to walk to a coin laundry place which cost 400yen per wash/ per dry

Really helpful and friendly staff. The amenities were fantastic, with the included free breakfast and on site onsen being definite highlights! The rooms were small but clean and comfortable and the location was very accessible, being only minutes away from a bus stop that can bring you to all the major tourist sites, and walking distance to Nishiki Market. Close to many great restaurants and shops as well.

A bit hard to find initially, as it's tucked away and requires the use of some smaller side roads to get to. Google maps unfortunately isn't very clear, but once you found it, its easy to get to!

Great location, right in the centre of the Gion area with heaps of restaurants and shopping so close. Hotel was easy to find. Breakfast was so tasty and a very good selection of foods and good selection of juices and coffee and pastries. Free drinks from 6-8pm was great to have a whiskey and relax at the end of the day. Very good value hotel and one of our favourite hotels to stay in Japan.

Wheat pillow is too hard for most westerners as they aren’t used to sleeping on grain pillows it is one large long pillow for 2 people. They have very soft pillows to choose from near the lobby but they are far too soft.

The location was superb. Close to train station and easy to get to anywhere. The hotel staff were always lovely and we loved our stay here. Appreciated the warm friendly welcome especially the open drinks bar which was a pleasant surprise. The breakfast was a delight to start our long day of traveling as well. Loved how the hotel is focused on its sustainability efforts to try and minimise wastage too. Thank you so much 🙏

The size of the room was a little tight, but know that most Japanese hotels are like that.

The room is spacious for three people, with sofa for watching TV and table for dining on. Their breakfast is super delicious, with variety of food and nutrition you need for breakfast. Their happy hour time is also attractive. Definitely recommend to all people visiting Kyoto and we'd stay here again.

The toilet and bathroom is the typical design of Japan so it's very small. A little bit inconvenient if you're a big person.

Super hotel is very centrally located, and was very easy for us to get around in Kyoto. The staff were very helpful, especially when I left something behind after checkout. They had my item and were gracious about keeping it safe until I was able to pick it up. The happy hour was a nice touch and the breakfast buffet changed daily which I liked. I would definitely recommend staying here!

Like with most hotels in Japan, the washroom was quite small but this is to be expected.

Excellent location, walkable distance to Kyoto Kawaramachi station, Gion, Potoncho areas and Shinkyogoku/Teramachi shopping streets and large shopping centres ie Takashiyama. Despite the close promixity to the happening areas, the location of the hotel is quite serene. Besides offering great breakfast, there is also a free-flow drinks happy hour from 6-8pm. The onsen in the hotel is decent, but nothing much to shout about. Staff is also very helpful.

Room size is small but it is what it is by Japanese standards

The hotel is in a brilliant location, which is walking distance to many shops & restaurants. There also a lot of convenience stores scattered around the hotel. The metro is also walking distance to the hotel. The hotel is clean & spacious. They offer so many complimentary items and you can choose the kind of pillow you want from a big selection. The hotel also has complimentary access to the Onsen which looked very nice. Wifi is faultless around the hotel. It is so peaceful and quiet, very tranquil area.

The breakfast had very little western options.
