Probably one if not the best hostel in Kyoto due to its location and the social atmosphere. The one thing that the hostel does very well is a free beer hour every day, which makes it super easy to meet other travelers. The other amazing thing is the location, that is very conveniently located for sightseeing as well as for nightlife. I met another traveler staying further away, that simply never went out with us due to the distance. From this hostel you can simply walk home from the all the bars and clubs. Best bars: - Bee's Knees (you need to come early and join a interactive queue) - L'escamoteur one of the best bars, I have been in general, small and cozy with great bartenders, expect a 20/30min queue every night Best clubs: - WORLD KYOTO: fantastic sound system, fancy casual club with one main room and another small bar like room - KITSUNE KYOTO: little bit less fancy than world kyoto but cool crowed, maybe a little bit more local I don't know at which club I had more fun to be honest

Absolutely ridiculous prices for a hostel The prices also changed adaptively, one night was even 180 Euros for a hostel bed, I canceled that night and one night before the night the price changed to 80 Euros. On average, I paid like 110 Euros. Considering that Kyoto is the most touristy and that I stayed during the peak season, it is still worth it due to the amazing location and the social atmosphere.

Location was great, near downtown Kyoto. Buses nearby also takes you to most attractions. BED and SHOWER STALL WAS AMAZING. Capsule does not feel small or claustrophobic at all. Everything feels clean and fresh. Staffs at the reception were helpful and can speak great English. They appear young and hipster (hence The Millennials? I suppose). Shared lounge and kitchen area was great too. Overall amazing stay here.

Only a small lift from ground floor to level 8 reception area. Gotta wait sometimes for the lift. Check out is at 10AM, 800 yen per hour for late check out but not a big deal.

The whole experience of The Millenials was fantastic. The setup in the kitchen/co-working space/lounge area was so lovely - complementary tea and coffee, free beer for 1- 2 hours in the evening, and a lovely social vibe. Lots of people mingling, which is great if you are a solol traveller. The sleeping area was well layed out, lots of space lots of plugs. The most comfortable bed and pillows the way the "pod" is controlled is just genius and made the experience more luxurious. Bathroom facilities were great and very clean. The products in the showers were also great! Would recommend to anyone in Kyoto, have also been told the Tokyo branch is really great too. Close to good metro links for tourist attractions and walking distance to others!

Very little to dislike. One suggestion would be to have a washer and dryer in a different location to the bathroom. This is mainly because other guests were leaving the bathroom door open and it was being used late at night. Hairdryers could be better but in all honesty, that's not that big of a deal

One of my favourite stays so far! - Friendly staff - Super comfortable beds (love that the bed can switch between sofa and bed modes with the touch of a button) - Great assortment of amenities to choose from - Facilities were clean and easily accessible - Amazing lounge area with free coffee, tea, hot water, and even beer (certain times though). Also equipped with meeting rooms and a computer cafe.

- Depending on how much you're carrying with you, you might be limited storage space-wise - Pods are not soundproof (entrance is covered by curtain blinds - which is good at sealing light), so if complete privacy is a concern, this could be an issue to some people.

The place was amazing and easy to find ; there was a big open common room with everything you need (kitchen, couches, tables more isolated, etc) It was very modern and well-thought, it was easy to understand how everything worked and, if you had a question, the personal present would be there to answer you in a very good english. The bed was also incredibly confortable for a capsule hostel and it went with a self alarm to wake yourself without disturbing the others around. The bathroom was really good and well-equipped and there even the possibility to take baths ! Breakfast was also good with quite some options. I really enjoyed my stay, to the point where I regretted having to go elsewhere the next night

There is no bad point of this hostel in my opinion, even the price was good for the services available

I loved everything about this location!! the staff are kind, the location was amazing, the rooms were perfect and peaceful, and the facilities were clean. I loved that the lounge area had a big window that had an awesome view and a lot of space for if people had to do study or to do work on computers. I was constantly drinking their tea which was also good. they even have a shared refrigerator to put your food so you can reheat later.

I wish the beds were just a little bit higher so would have more storage space for my big suitcase, I kinda overpacked so it was my fault but I had space for my other bags.

The experience was super interesting, as we never stayed in a capsule hotel :) The hotel was very comfortable and spacious, with a screen in our room to watch a movie - after a long day walking. Breakfast is limited compared to biggest hotels we stayed at, but very tasty and the different kinds of breads were delicious. The reception ladies were super friendly helpful and speaking perfectly English which in Japan is not so common, so we could have an actual conversation ;) Design and decoration on point, very cool, with a beautiful view from the kitchen on the city and surroundings mountains. If you wished to cook, the kitchen had everything you needed, I had never experience this before in any hotel or airbnb! Impressive!

A 2 night stay was enough for us, as it was sometimes a bit noisy and some clients behaviour were quite annoying, especially during and after free beer o'clock. I assume because of a bigger part of foreigners, the bathrooms were sometimes not so clean, as Japanese people are much more clean and tidy. As a 30+ year old, I would prefer a bit more space for my stuff and clothes, so even if I would repeat the experience of course, I would prefer to choose a real hotel for next time.

Clean and comfortable bedroom pods with plenty of room. The bathroom facilities were also kept clean and well attended to. Other guests kept noise to a minimum, which was very much appreciated. I think staying in such a well kept and staffed facility, ensured that other guests had that level of respect for others. The kitchen was kept clean by guests. The staff helped me to ship my luggage to Tokyo, which I found very very helpful. I loved my stay at Millennials, and would definitely stay again.

Nothing. Perfect place to stay.

The capsule beds are super comfortable! And the whole floor is quiet so there’s no problem falling asleep or staying asleep as I am quite the light sleeper. The staff is really nice and even helped us get a taxi. They even let you grab towels to change everyday which is a plus! Free beer from specific times is great as well and the kitchen is well stocked for whatever your needs~ Last note, the location is great!!!!

The cleanliness is a little lacking in the bathroom toilets. It would be nice if the toilets were cleaned more often. There were times where urine was very noticeable on the floor. Just beware if you are doing laundry, The dryer is not very strong and please either increase the temp on the dryer or dry your clothes in batches or else it will take FOREVERRR.

Fantastic, clean, sociable, modern and comfortable capsule hotel. The co-working space was easy to concentrate in, with a great view east of Kyoto to the mountains. It was safe, the happy hour free beers helped everyone socialise and the events were really enjoyable. Hot powerful showers and cute Tokyo bikes for rent - ideal!

My jacket got soaked in the rain one day and there's no space to dry things. The safe is great and strong, but only just fitted my 15" laptop - anyone with bigger valuables would have to carry them with them in the day.
