Location - 10 minute walk from the main Nagoya train station and several underground lines. 40 minute walk from Nagoya Castle. 2 convenience stores within a 2 minute walk. Restaurants - we didn’t have breakfast but had an evening meal in the on site restaurant. Much better than an on-site place in the uk, that’s for sure! Food was very nice and reasonably priced. Close to the centre of Nagoya so plenty of other restaurants in walking distance (for breakfast as well as dinner). Staff - staff spoke English at check in, which was very straightforward. Express checkout. WiFi speed - consistent. 100mbps download, 140mbps upload. Amenities - shower gel, shampoo and conditioner in the room. Other things available for free in the lobby. A Japanese pj/ robe and slipper set for my fetching photo album. Bed / pillows - decent mix of pillows. Comfortable bed. Noise levels - quiet Temperature - aircon in the room, but remember to actually turn it on, instead of *just* setting the the temperature! It resets when you leave the room. The hallway was silly hot, so we had to speed walk to the lift or put our coats on downstairs! Shower - self contained shower unit. Consistent temperature and pressure. Overall comments - modern, clean, and close to the centre.

Location is good - close to Nagoya Kintetsu and Meitetsu station and also close to another subway station. There're also bus stops nearby that take you to Sakae (Oasis 21 and Mirai Tower) and Nagoya Castle. There's a market selling fresh food right opposite to the hotel (only opens in the morning) and many restaurants around. Room is compact but I think it's normal in Japan. Staff is generally helpful and cheerful but might sometimes have miscommunication in English. Not a big problem anyways.

Not too sure if the staff really understood our request - on the second day we asked the staff to clean the room, but the empty bottles next to the bin were still there when we returned. The next day we asked the staff not to manage one of the beds (was in a twin room) but both were done. The interesting thing was the toilet bowl and the area next to the water basin were not cleaned.

Good staff and well run hotel. Very cool cafe on the ground floor as well. This was good value for the money and a good atmosphere. Quiet and comfortable. I didn't feel it lacked anything, especially for what I paid.

It's close to the JR station in Nagoya but I found it a little tricky to find. That could be just me and I generally try to walk to hotels most of the time from the arrival point, whether that is a train station or arriving from after rail or bus from airport. To be fair, in many places I stayed construction projects or places impacted by rail lines complicated walking to the hotel.

The rooms were clean and comfortable which is what I'd expect from an Ibis branded hotel. Breakfast was included in the price which was a bonus and it had a good mix of western and Japanese food. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk from the Nagoya train station.

Very minor detail but the restaurant was closed for private functions on both nights we stayed. It wasn't a big issue as there are plenty of places to eat in Nagoya, but it would have been nice to enjoy a drink at the bar given the prices seemed very reasonable!

This was a great home-base for visiting Nagoya and the surrounding area. The train station is around 10 minutes away and plenty of shops nearby for food and shopping. The room had a nice view of the bustling city, but was plenty quiet at night to sleep. Room service did a great job every day of keeping the room clean. I loved the bathroom, which had a great, spacious shower.

The room could have used a small desk area to sit down in: there was one stool in the room but it wasn't very comfortable. For me it wasn't a huge deal but if I had to do any work on my laptop it wouldn't have been an ideal setup.

Good location with convenience store right across and several restaurants nearby. Nagoya station was about a 6 minute walk away. Friendly staff. I must say the bed and pillows were very comfortable and despite walking a lot everyday, I’d wake up feeling great.

The shower area is separate but I wish there was an area where one could change - it’s literally a shower room and a separate toilet room and the rest of the room. So you either change in the toilet area or in your room (not much privacy if you’re sharing a room).

Location- near the train station, shops and restaurants. Having a small fridge in the room. They have a scale on the ground floor, in case you shop too much in Nagoya ;P The Izakaya across the street is good.

The room is small but the room size is listed in the description, so I can't complain, for reference, it's hard to open big luggage on the floor(you need to close it, otherwise you won't have a place to walk).

I stay for 3 nights for standard double room (non smooking): (+): Staff speak english very well. The room is very simple without bathtub which is not really important for me. Close to the Nagoya station (JR line, Hirokoji side) (500 m ~ 5 or 7 mins walk) or 300 m from Kokusai center subway station. I like the concept of the hotel: saving water and energy to planting one tree per minute in the world. Such a great hotel!!! Ohya, the room service clean my room everyday and give me a new slipper everytime they clean it up.

(-): i think the view was not really fascinating. The TV has some english but we can not watch youtube/Netflix although there is some option in the remote control. We have to connect our PC (not phone) to watch youtube/netflix. They only have japanese TV channels.

Very friendly staff. Rooms were well maintained and the bed was comfortable. Nice floor to ceiling windows in our room. The food and drinks in the restaurant were good. Check in and check out were very efficient. I did like the location, it was just outside the busy shopping areas so it was a bit quiet, but with easy access to the hustle and bustle. I loved the surrounding alleys and streets with a variety of local food options. It was fun to walk out at night and stumble upon a place for dinner.

This is not a complaint, but the food was exactly the same every day for breakfast. I still enjoyed it thoroughly. That being said, I think the price point was great for the cost of the room per night to include a breakfast buffet.

Normally hotels in Japan within this price range and star rating are business hotels, but ibis Styles really stands out from the crowd. Rooms are a solid 10/10 in terms of comfort and design, pricing is really competitive and the front desk staff are super helpful. There's parking available and plenty of other parking lots nearby, plus Nagoya station is just a short walk away.

The desk setup in the room is a bit limited if you use big laptops/tablets.
