Breakfast is excellent, a buffet of Japanese, Chinese, and non-Asian fare like sausages, bacon, pancakes etc. No egg station, which is my preference, but they have scrambled and soft-boiled eggs ready. There's a kids' buffet too with octopus-shaped weiners and others. :) Room is surprisingly big for Japan. Bathroom is the typical floor shower with personal onsen/bathtub beside it. Lots of electrical outlets all over the room. WiFi is blazingly fast and stable. There's a convenient ferry, The Captain Line, that cuts across the port to the Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan, and to the rest of Osaka from there via public transport. Alternatively, there's the nearby train station which is roughly a 5-10 minute walk from the hotel. There are convenience stores in Universal City. Of course, Universal Studios Japan is readily accessible. The entrance is 5 minute or less walk away. You'll have to cross a major street to get there.

There is no working desk and chair, per se. Just a small circular bedside table with a sofa-chair. So if you're planning to do work on your laptop like I did, it's not the ideal but it'll do. Not the hotel's fault, but expect long lines to the best restaurants in Universal City after spending the day in long lines in Universal Studios Japan, if that's your dinner plan. No big deal, but you'll have to take that into account and plan ahead. The hotel itself does have dining options which I didn't try. In hindsight, it might have been more convenient to just have dinner at the hotel.

Slightly bigger room size than your average rooms in downtown Osaka, good sound isolation and heat insulation with good AC. Very good size bathroom and bed. Ample elevators and fast check-in/out. Great staff from front desk to the café/restaurant, especially Rex Café staff we cannot praise them enough for their help our daughter's birthday celebration, they are the best. Amenities in the room are great too, nice robes and slippers etc. Food at the Rex café was great albeit a bit pricier than most, we did not try the restaurants due to their high price though. It's a short 5-mins walk away from the park's entrance.

The view facing the park is pretty much pointless and suffers from some noise coming from the park after the park is closed when they do some equipment testing. Despite having a very large space at the back of the hotel, there was not a single table/chair to relax outside after a long day at the park.

Loved how the property is near USJ and 5 min walk from the JR Yumesaki line. My son enjoyed walking to the Universal city walk since there is a lot of food places and crane game there. Staff is friendly. Hotel is able to assist with luggage forwarding services; they use the Yamato Luggage Service. There is a buffet there, we opted out on having the breakfast option. We ate there the first day since we was jet lagged and had wide variety of food. We had a nice view of the water. Hotel is minion theme which on son was excited about. Room was decently spacious considering we used the crib service.

We had a blast at Hotel Universal Port, really wonderful experience that we will definitely stay here when we go back to USJ. We had 2 rooms, and they were big enough to have space to move around and open our luggages. The rooms were so cozy and the beds were really comfortable. The room is exactly as the photos. Cleanliness was as expected. We loved the warm toilet seats and the bidet which we also have back home (except the warming seats). The staff were wonderful and responded well to our requests, they even assisted us in calling a taxi and talking in Japanese to explain our destination. The hotel has luggage lockers for 100yen which you can get back after using the locker. The hotel is very conveniently located, less than 5 minutes walk to USJ and Universal City station is less than 2 minutes walk. We felt safe arriving late at night. There is also a restaurant which we tried for room service and the food were yummy. We even ordered a birthday cake, and the service they provided was really greatly appreciated, because not only did they provide the plates, fork, cake cutter, candle (and lighted it for us) but they also made sure that we got a good photo. There is wifi in the hotel but we did not use this as we have pocket wifi.

My kids and I loved this Hotel. Our purpose to stay here was because we were going to Universal Studios Japan, and the location was excellent. Just walking for 5 mins to get to citiwalk and theme park, we were there only for 2 nights and we had the top floor. Beautiful view , a lot of spots for pics in the hotel plus their breakfast buffet was delicious. Fresh squeezed orange juice was our favorite drink. The rooms were so spacious for all the luggages I was carrying 7 total. Beds are big and very comfy. There is a bathtub and shower plus lots of amenities in the room including daily facial masks. Simply beautiful. I will most likely return here if I visit Osaka next time and will stay for longer days. I was sad leaving as I wished I stayed there longer.

The property was beautiful, the Minion theme throughout was amazing, and we loved how close it was to walk to the Universal City station, the Universal Citywalk, and to USJ. The staff were very nice and so helpful and the cafe had really great meals (especially for kids). Our hotel room was very spacious and we appreciated how the bathroom amenities were split up into three sections — the toilet in one separate room, the main vanity and sink in another, and the standing shower and tub in the last. Overall, it was a great experience and we would stay here again when we visit USJ again.

The entryway leading to the bathroom had a light sensor that would cause the light to turn on whenever any one approached the bathroom. It wasn’t pleasant when the bedroom would get flooded with a light whenever someone got up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom, especially with a baby who would also wake up each time.

1. Walking distance to Universal studio. Easy for going in and out. Pleasant walk to and from airport bus stop (Itami) with elevator access as we carry luggage however we coulsdt find at the beginning. 2. Our kids super love the hotel. Becomes one of the highlight of our Japan holiday due to : great view to the sea, Delicious brakfast with great menu for kids, in-room dining with reasonable price and very tasy too !! Spacious room that our 3 kids can play inside comfortably. 3. Hotel backyard is a port to visit Aquarium and ferris wheel. 4. Hotel is equipped with necessities such as small minimarket for f&b, souvenirs, rain coat etc.

We were more than happy with this hotel, we loved it and most of all the kids loved it, especially the minion theme. Staff were very friendly and welcoming, from the check in staff to the breakfast staff. Room was lovely and clean, we had an amazing view of the park which I wasn’t expecting so that was a wonderful surprise and the location is PERFECT! I absolutely loved that they gave slippers for my kids in the room too, so cute. Hotel is just a short 5 minute walk to the park, there was a Lawsons kobini just next to the hotel which is great if you’re arriving late at night and the train station was just across the road which was so convenient. The breakfast was so good, my husband and I aren’t really big on breakfast we usually just having something light but we wanted to fill up before going to universal studios, we both thoroughly enjoyed it, there’s plenty of options for kids too they even had their own station which my 4 year old loved it being at his height level. I loved the variety of food, especially the Asian options as it’s different to what I would usually have for breakfast, staff were so friendly at breakfast too, always smiling and happy. We only stayed one night but wish we could have stayed for longer! Would 100% recommend!

Only thing I would mention is the water feature in the reception area doesn’t really feel safely closed off, it only had a small low barrier going across, my children kept insisting on playing around it, in the end we had to move away as it was making me nervous. Don’t leave your kids unattended there, especially if you’re busy checking in or out and not paying attention or if your kids like to climb stairs, there was no barrier at all where the stairs were.

It's an awesome hotel with a Minion theme in the lobby, elevators, and some rooms. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The facility was definitely clean. It is right next to the Universal City train station. It was a brisk walk from the hotel to USJ. They checked us in two hours earlier than the normal check-in time because the room was ready. They also have coin-operated lockers to store your bags and luggage if you do arrive early and your room is not ready for check-in. Those same lockers you can use when you checkout, especially if you have a late night flight and don't want to bring your things around while you're still exploring the area. The size of the room was more than enough. We had a view of the Osaka bay. The ferry to Kaiyukan (Osaka Aquarium) and the Tempozan area is right behind the hotel. This was great because the transport time was 10 minutes compared to the 40-50 minutes on a train with transferring and walking. All in all, we enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend you book Hotel Universal Port for your next stay! * A tip for those who want to make the most time on their trip is to use an airport bus to Universal Studios bus station. It is about an hour ride, but there is no navigating train station or actually figuring it out if you're new to the train system.

Great location! Very easy to get to/from the park; the walk is ~5 min. Rooms are very clean. We got the Minions Room #1 for a small extra cost, which was super fun & memorable for the kids, but not that comfy for the grown-ups.

Room - not enough accessible outlets to plug in electronics. Not enough hooks to dry towels outside of the shower (there's a line in the shower, but if someone is using the shower, you have to take the towels out). Breakfast - a little expensive, not open early enough if you have the early bird pass to the park!!!
