A very unique, calming and beautiful stay in what can be crazy (but wonderful) Osaka. From the moment you walk through the noren, everything feels calm and relaxing - the design of the space has been very thoughtful and well executed. Even to the point that I normally dislike incense, but the smell when you walk in is lovely (maybe all my friends had nasty incense over the years!). The rooms are really lovely - I'm not quite sure what a traditional Japanese room would like like, but in my Australian mind I like to think it is like this including (what I would define as) the slightly raised futon (not going to claim accuracy for my terminology!!). The room size is also excellent - one of the larger in Japan that I've had - not huge but just that wee bit more. I love the pyjama thing in Japanese hotels - plus they had 'toe socks' the traditional socks with the split after the big toe. And of course, staff were amazing - kind and helpful at every interaction. I would happily stay here again - a beautiful space, and great value for money.
Like other reviews, location is a little out of the way but it's not terrible by any stretch. 7-9 minute walk to the nearest metro and it's not that far into the action, but also don't underestimate the local area for restaurants etc - a short walk had me finding all sorts of eating treasures, without all the tourist nonsense of inner Osaka. There was a little noise in the morning, particularly kids in the hallway and someone leaving very early, which wasn't terrible and wouldn't put me off staying, but if you're super sensitive to noise may be worth nothing.

Good vibes, very clean. Polite and helpful staff. Japanese breakfast included. Meditation session included every evening in Japanese (1 hr), once a week by an English speaking monk. Daily room service, if desired. Location near lovely Tennoji park. I stayed for 2 weeks in total because I quite liked it.
A bit far from subway, I preferred to walk to Namba, took the same time. Take a taxi if you carry heavy luggage. Internet at times slow. Front rooms with some street noise (I'm very light sleeper), I asked and received a room in the back, which was quiet. I had to do some work, there was no spot to do that at the lobby, and the low seat in room was uncomfortable.

The hotel is really nice and the staff was very polite, helpful and friendly. The room was clean and quite big compared to the Japanese standard. I liked the breakfast (healthy, which was nice considering that I had quite a lot of okonomiyaki and takoyaki during my stay!) The hotel is positioned close to the Shinsekai area (so a bit far from Dotonbori), the area is quiet. The hotel does not have laundry facilities but there is a coin laundry in a 3 minutes walking distance.
Unfortunately, the rooms are not very soundproof as the walls are very thin, and you can hear everything is going on in the hallway. During the first night, there were people going up and down the elevator until 4am so I could barely sleep. This is kind of related to people’s manners so not really the hotel’s fault but some layers of isolation within the room could also improve the situation.

everything! super relaxing, half way between a ryokan experience and a hotel. everything was modern, clean, and excellent. the staff were very friendly and helpful. the location is a a little away from the main action, but that was a plus point for me. a very relaxing stay, thank you!

I liked the general atmosphere of the hotel - radiating peace and quiet. The free drinks in the room, as well as extra options for free drinks (if you pass on room cleaning, or follow them on IG) are nice add-ons. Bed is really good - one of the better ones on this trip. Room is also pretty large for it being one-person. Room accomodations are good (nothing really stands out, but that's also a good thing). the location is okay. While it is a bit of a walk from the nearby places, there's still a combini in less than five minutes walk, and it's close to both Den Den Town and Shinsekai (both being great places to be). I did not partake in the breakfast, so I cannot judge.
Not every button or item in the room has an English explanation (yet). For example, I accidentally turned on the room speaker, thinking it was controlling the fan in the bathroom. But instead, atmospheric music was starting to play. But it took quite some while for discover where the music came from and then what button turned it off.

The hotel is based on an old temple, all the staff are wearing monk-like clothing. The room is designed to make you feel in a traditional Japanese home/temple. The hotel is very relaxing, and scents all the place. The room is equipped with the best pajama I got in any Japanese hotel thus far. They offer 4 different drinks once you arrive. The slippers are desinged in a very nice way, and you get to select the design you like. The Bed is super comfy, one of the best beds I slept on in Japan. The room is equipped with a soothing sound to calm you, you may adjust the volume or turn it off. On each evening there is a Zen session with different monk; however only on weekings the monk will physicaly be present and only the weekend monk speek english. The breack fast is served in a dining room, with only vegetarian meal. It looks light, but actually quite soothing. It is also surrounded by tens of diffrenet temples and one of the main tourist attracion. If you booked at least 1 month in advance you may get a very good price.
The location is quite far from the nearest train station. One station requires you to climb stairs. After a long day, this can be annoying. Only one staff can understand English. So be ready to use a translation app. The breakfast is quite dull. Will appreciate if they offer a "western" option. You must check in on Time. each extra minute is calculated automatically via their system; so be carfull.

The stay exceeded my expectations completely. It is traditionally decorated and the rooms are absolutely gorgeous. It is hard to find something like this in such a good location in Osaka. The staff is super nice and will do anything to help you. Some people in the reviews were complaining a bit about the distance to the station and city centre, but they are definitely exaggerating/ or are not used to use their legs. In reality it is super convientely located and super close to some of Osaka’s major temples and attractions. I will definitely return to this place! I am happy I did not book a place in umeda but chose for namba instead.

The room was quite large and in the Japanese style, with tatami floors. This gave it a warmth and quiet we found quite peaceful, and the bathroom was utilitarian with great water pressure. We had an excellent vegan meal, the only option as this is a Buddhist Hotel, though it's not really marketed that way on this website. This suited us very well.
For the price and from the marketing, you might expect a more luxury stay than what you'll get, which is serene but a tad austere. We were only there for one night and on a holiday but we didn't find much to see nearby but that also made it a quiet street.

The services is really good, the receptionists are very patient and willing to help. The meditation session is spectacular experience since the teacher of Friday and Saturday is an actual zen sect from nearby temple, the zen sect speaks fluent English and humorous as well which makes the session lively. Despite the room being slightly small it is very clean and the facilities are great, you can even play zen themed music in your room with a bottom in the room. Even though the locations is not that convenient the neighborhood is very quite that assure decent rests
The location is not that great if you want to experience the central areas but acceptable, since tsutentaku is close and not to mention that there are numerous temples nearby

A beautiful small boutique hotel, new and clean. Pleasant overall. A gorgeous park (Tennoji Park) was nearby, an ongoing Christmas Fair in the evening that was wonderful to encounter, within 10mins walk to the left of the hotel, uphill. Towards the back of the hotel, a pathway led to another subway station 四天王寺前夕陽ケ丘 (Shitennoji-mae Yuhigaoka metro) that was slightly further, than the closest station (惠美須町Ebisucho metro), but was a lovely walk passing by many temples in the neighbourhood.
The information of whereabouts and things to do at the reception desk was limited. There was a complimentary map available . Otherwise, recommend to google and check for yourself upon one's own interest on where to go and what to do. It gave the feeling of a staycation hotel versus one for tourists.
