they close the light at 9pm then it’s so dark in there to do anything

spacious rooms despite being a 26 bed dormitory, only stayed a few days but could have definitely done my entire stay in this guesthouse locker next to ur bed with plenty of space for your suitcases comfy bed big common area with lots of sitting, shared kitchen and fridge

only an elevator available to reach the rooms but used by a looooot of people (same one used for the metro station right under) so takes a while to leave / go back to ur room sometimes depending on your timing only one sheet given to put on ur bed but not a second one to put over the blanket..

Very friendly staff. The dorm is an entire floor, it feels like a hive indeed as it is quiet dark and warm and the air con contributes a humming sound - cozy feeling for sleeping. Night time quiet hours were being respected. Sounds in the dorm didn't carry much so even when somebody returned late it didn't feel noisy. There's a decently equipped kitchen and large fridge so cooking is an option. The hostel is directly accessible from the subway station via elevator, very convenient. Places to go out for party and some sightseeing in walking distance. Lots of good food options in walking distance

Because common room and kitchen are on a different floor, I spent less time there than I would have otherwise. The common room would feel nicer to hang out at with a few couches or softer seats. The lockers to put your stuff (for the cheapest beds) are near the doors and its quite cramped - getting new clothes and storing your coat and shoes was a hassle, especially when wet. Its a very large dorm, so there is always a little bit of noise, depending on the other guests of course. It was surprisingly quiet while I was there though, people were very considerate.

The staff at Namba Guesthouse are very welcoming. Ryotan was friendly and helpful. I think this hostel is the perfect combination of "chill" and "social". If you're looking to be social, there are plenty of opportunities to be. If you want some space, the common area is relaxing with mood music and lighting. The bathrooms in our mixed dorm were exceptionally clean and updated. You're also right above a direct subway station, which makes getting to any place in Osaka a 20-minute subway--really convenient.

The only thing I wasn't super fond of was the bunk space. There isn't any additional space in your bunk, it's literally just the bed and only one outlet. However, you get your own locked closet space which is great for sorting your clothes if you have an extended stay. Yet, I'm the type of person who likes a little extra space in their bunk to keep things.

The facilities where very good in the dorms and the rooms where very clean! The beds had a privacy curtain and a light and charging port in each one. The staff where very friendly and the kitchen and social area had good cooking amenities. The WiFi worked well and the social area was nice to get work etc done. The location was good, very central above a station!

It wasn’t the hostels fault however we where upset as our food got stolen one day. So just be careful with what you leave lying around and make sure to name and date any food you are leaving in the public fridge!

Staying in a semi-private bed, there was plenty of space to spread out, and I was able to work confidentially from the desk. As an added bonus, the additional privacy meant I wasn't attempting to dress in a damp bathroom or communal space. Location wise, it's convenient. It's a 10 minute walk to Shinsekai and 20 minutes to Dotonbori. Umeda requires a 15 minute walk before getting the subway or making a change on the subway. It was also one of the quietest hostels I've stayed in which is great - for the dormitory, at least.

There's one small locker with a shelf in it that just-to-say fit my valuables, but there was nowhere for the suitcase. Since the semi-private room had a curtain this felt fine, but realistically there was nothing to stop someone snooping.

Very nice and helpful hosts. I stayed there for a week, didn't have any problem. The location was great, right next to the Den Den neighborhood, so if you're into anime stuff, that's the perfect location (might be better than Akihabara). And the elevator to the hostel leads directly into the subway station, super convenient.

Nothing really, the Namba Guesthouse met my expectations.

Great staff and location. Nice facilities, quite modern. The common area is nicely designed with a clean and well-equipped kitchen. Free earplugs which unfortunately were much needed.

The dorm room has a lot of people, felt like 30+ at times, with people talking at 2am, 6am, and drunk people trying to use my bed. The shower has a sign that says it can be used from 7:00 to 24:00 but the cleaning staff said I couldn't use it from late morning until 2pm.

The rooms have many beds but you still have a very private bunk that is very comfy, facilities are great and the staff are lovely and very accommodating! Great location and easy to move around to all the must see's in osaka, the hostel has a chill vibe with a good common area 😊

It was a little tricky to find the hostel, Google maps places you on the back of the building and you can only see the sign for the entrance on the other side, would be helpful with a little more signage but otherwise, my stay was fantastic!

Namba Guesthouse HIVE situated in a very strategic location. Coveniently located above Ebisucho Station, one can simply take the elevator from the subway to reach at the guesthouse’s doorstep. Facilities including bed, wifi, kitchen, common area, shower, and toilet are decent. I was greeted by Ryota and Eva and they were nice. They organized takoyaki party on one of the night I stayed there. Overall, I highly recommended this place, especially for solo traveler looking for a budget and centralize location accommodation.
