Hotel New Otani Tokyo The Main

Hotel was within walking distance of 4 stations, 2 were less than 5min away. The hotel has many restaurant options, ranging from western to Japanese food, even a coffee shop and a convenience store. Hotel has a beautiful garden along other facilities Service was great. Room was clean and looked recently refurbished, it was a good size (in general and not just for tokyo size) and had very good amenities. I chose the room.with the traditional Japanese bath. I recommend the experience This is the 2nd trip where I stay in this hotel, and I will do so again next time

As expected of a very big hotel, get ready to walk a bit. But it's worth it to have so many restaurants, stores and even a garden inside it

The facilities were wonderful and convenient. A beautiful garden on the doorstep. Many many restaurants to choose from. Room service was superb. The staff were most kind to allocate my missing phone on the day of my arrival. Kind and pleasant overall.

The room was much too dark. The view of the carpark was too close therefore curtains were drawn all throughout the day. Needs much more lighting for rooms facing that side

It’s a very nice property sitting on a gorgeous Japanese Garden and very accessible by trains. 3 stations a few minutes walk away linking you to most locations in Tokyo. Concierge and staff are very helpful.

Rooms are a bit dated but they have started renovating some. A side note not directly related to myself as we stayed in the Main building, but lots of confusion for other guests arriving in the Garden Tower with reception being closed after 9. As a guest every time I was walking back to the hotel I saw a confused person that I guided to the Main lobby.

Vey spacious room compared to what you get in Tokyo generally. Lovely view of the city, and an easy short walk to the nearest train station. Room was very clean and the beds comfortable. Cute little pyjamas awaited us on the bed (although we didn't use these). They also prepared a kids toothbrush in the bathroom (we were travelling as a family) so that was a nice touch.

The room service menu was ridiculously expensive, even for Tokyo. Would have loved some more basic options at reasonable prices! Also would have been good to have kids meal options on the menu, but there were none.

Very beautiful hotel. Fantastic garden connected with the hotel. Possibility to access several restaurants and facilities.

The hotel is not close to metro station and requires 10 minutes' walking distance to the closest metro station. Though breakfast room has a great view of the garden we have not found the breakfast excellent as expected. One of the restaurants requires an additional fee for the breakfast. The use of some facilities (external pool) are reserved to New Otani members. The television in the room is a very old monitor with low resolution and small dimensions.

Japanese gardens are amazing. The room, including the bed was super comfortable. They provided a great selection of toiletries.

Only con: There was constant creaking of a wall (?) in my room on my last night there. I think because it was very windy outside and maybe since the hotel is retrofitted it caused creaking in the building. It was loud enough to wake me up and I needed to wear ear plugs. It also takes about 10-12 mins to walk to a subway so if you can’t walk a lot I recommend somewhere closer to the station. However it was a beautiful walk.

The room we stayed in was very spacious with walk in closet, large bath and large living space. Extremely comfortable. Beautiful gardens and walkable distance to the train station. As always, the staff is really nice, informative, and will go above and beyond. Also, experiencing Afternoon Tea at Hotel New Otani Tokyo is memorable with views of the garden. Will have to make a reservation if you want to experience it. The location is big and has a lot for guests to explore. I had an amazing time here.

Room a little on the small side. Next time I would pay more to get a bigger room. Not important if you don't spend a lot of time in the hotel

The hotel was wonderful. The staff was friendly and polite, and the room was very large and clean.

It's a bit of a shame that the pool costs extra given the price of the room.

The hotel has its own Japanese garden, which makes it a peaceful sanctuary to escape from hectic traffic in the city. We stayed at the end of sakura seasons, but still find rows of blooming sakura trees nearby and late blomming sakura at nearby park. The hotel is also near metro station and just a few stops away from Shinjuku, Shinjuku goen, shibuya, direct line to Ueno park etc. You can choose different restaurant for breakfast during the stay, i would recommend the Garden Tower restaurant for its wonderful view of the surrounding areas from 40th floor and the Garden lounge for direct view of the Japanese garden. Overall a memorable stay, great service from the staff, will be back again if visit Tokyo next time.

The matress is a bit hard and bed linen not as expected for hotel of its standard. No cable tv or netflix can only watch local program and foreign news channel in Japaneese...yes, in Japaneese. I swithched to my handphone after a while, the wifi is free and stable.
