The location, across the street from Akasaka Mitsuke station, is ideal. Either by car or subway, it's a short ride to Shibuya or Shinjuku in one direction or Ginza and the Tokyo Station area in the other. The Akasaka area itself is full of good restaurants, bars, and clubs, a "nicer, cleaner version of Roppongi," as someone once said. The hotel is large, and the rooms, though not large, are comfortable. (If you want a bathtub instead of a shower-only room, be sure to check when you book. Many of the "Garden View" rooms do not have baths.) For ice, you simply call downstairs and a few moments later your doorbell rings. A pleasant reminder of a previous century. There are multiple restaurants and shops on the premises, plus a 24-hour 7-Eleven on the first floor. We chose this hotel both for the location and because we travel by car, and the property has easy-access underground parking (and some of the cheapest in Tokyo!).

The hotel is wide but not tall, which means the hallways are loooong. Also, it was built to accommodate Western tourists back in the heyday of Japan's development cycle, so no one thought of including a large public bath. If the hotel had a bath on the top floor, I would rate this one of my top picks in Tokyo.

The location was amazing - so close to several metro lines so it was easy to get around Tokyo. There are also a lot of food options around the hotel! The room was spacious, the shower and water pressure was great and the bed was comfortable. There's also a 7-11 connected to the hotel so we didn't have to leave the building to buy essentials or pick up breakfast. If you want to do laundry, there are also coin laundry machines on certain floors (no need to bring detergent - the machine will provide it). An amazing stay!

The carpet and the chairs in the room were a bit dated, but that's just me being hyper critical.

- Bathroom was awesome. Much more spacious than the average hotel bathroom in Japan. With an amazing shower on top of that! Seriously, the shower was probably my favorite part of the whole experience. - Staff were very friendly and helped us deal with a broken suitcase situation - Bed and pillows were pretty comfortable - Good Location near restaurants, a very cool shrine, and of course train and subway stations. There’s a convenient store on the 1st floor which is great.

- A.C. hardly worked at all, room would get quite warm (even though it was November) and when the AC was on it would frequently turn off by itself. I can’t imagine staying during the summer. - Breakfast was overpriced for what it was. We are there one morning and I didn’t think the buffet was worth the price at all. Food was pretty average and options were limited. - Only one room we booked had to pay a city tax and we were confused about how that happened/the reasoning. It wasn’t very expensive, just confusing.

The location was perfect for getting about as the metro station was opposite the hotel. The breakfast was worth paying for though the buffet could have been improved by some variation.Rooms were clean and of a good size for Japan.Staff were available for help as needed though we had done our research and planned on what to do. Also situated in a quite lively locality for evening entertainment and dining.

I could not fault this hotel in any respect. Perfect for the first time visitor to Tokyo.

Akasaka Excel Hotel Tokyu is very well positioned if you're staying in Tokyo for business or for pleasure. Across the road from a whole array of restaurants and bars, including a Big Echo and a Bic Camera, if you need any of those emergency electronic gadgets that you might have left at home. There's a 7 Eleven on the ground floor for late night ice cream! Comfortable rooms, greater showers. Get a good night's sleep! Quiet.

The breakfast was very good, the service was also very prudent and pleasent. The hotel was very good located next to Akasaka- mitsuke Station! There is a seven eleven on the ground floor.

The Fitness room is only for one Person and it was reserved most of the time. The room was very small for 3 people. New slippers were thrown at us every time the room was cleaned, although we didn't use the new ones either

Very good location, it's just across the street from the train station. Staff are all polite, friendly and very helpful We checked out at 4.30am and they immediately helped us to get a cab. Very good service, plus point was that all the hotel staff we met spoke English ( which wouldn't be a problem if they didn't, but was more of a yay that they did) In addition, there's a lot of very very good food nearby with a 7-11 at the lobby.

Super convenient location. Right in front of Akasaka-mitsuke station. Only one short escalator ride down to Tokyo Metro Ginza line and Marunouchi line. 5 mins walk in the underground passage to Hanzomon, Yurakucho, Namboku lines. Great places to hang out at Akasaka, love the area, not as packed as other popular spots.

There used to be airport bus (Friendly Limousine Bus) that goes direct to Haneda and Narita airports but they no longer stop at this hotel.

Lovely location in the centre of the upmarket Akasaka area, bang opposite the tube station, eating spots and walkable tourist spots. Good sized rooms.

Inspite of having received a confirmation for an early check-in considering a long Voight into Tokyo, reception refused to simply acknowledge it and made us wait till 2 PM. Language a serious with the reception.

I enjoy walking, the great thing about this location is that every direction is a 40-50 minute walk to a major spot in Tokyo. Really good restaurants within 400 metres as well.

Nothing. I will always choose to stay this hotel. I've been to Japan many times now, and this is by far my favorite hotel.
