This is one of the best establishments I have ever been to, everything was at a high level, Despite the fact that I made many requests, what I needed was done much more than I asked!!! I have never seen that the hotel was cleaned twice a day in the morning and in the evening a special person also comes who checks whether everything is enough, if the water is full, whether the bar in the room is, Of course, I don’t think that this is in all rooms, But in any In the case that I booked, every effort was made to make me feel like a king. I also ordered a special transport so that I could easily get to where I needed the transfer was comfortable and with a special professional driver. For which many thanks.I am very glad that I visited this hotel and hope that I will come.

The only thing that I could not like was that the time passed very quickly. I wanted to stay longer.

The location is excellent. It's in the old city and is only a couple of minute walking distance from the main square and all the restaurants. Front desk staff was also very friendly. Room service was great. Kids really loved the parrot in the breakfast area.

Even though it's a 5-star hotel, it felt like the room has not been renovated in a while. Some small repairs are being neglected (cracks in the walls, other). Fitness area was very basic. Only few cardio machines and free weights (8kg max). One waitress during the breakfast was somewhat rude (no greetings, no thank you no welcome, etc.) The parking is very limited. If you travel by can then please confirm parking spot. Otherwise it can get tricky.

The location is splendid, the staff was extremely friendly and most matters could be solved. Breakfast was very good.

The house is old-ish. As told in previous reviews, it is true that if you are very sensitive you could smell the smoke from earlier days when the hotel used to allow smoking. If you aren't, for the "normal" stay as myself i found it okay. The room was cold tough and only after two complaints we were brought a mini radiator. The steam bath didn't work. The room for relaxiation for the sauna was a bit odd since there were no loungers but sofabeds with cushions. The sauna itself doesn't heat very well because it isn't closed to the floor.

Breakfast was eeally nice, location was excellent. Take away breakfast option available when leaving early.

It was our veey special stay (a day after our Wedding) and Hotel didn't acknowledge that at all, didn't even leave a card in the room (we noted on the reservation so they were aware). Room was too small for 5* property. There was an event on Saturday and was very loud till midnight. Also we made staff aware a day before that we will be checking out at 4am and ordered take away breakfast, however there was no one at the reception. After waiting for 10-15min and ringing the bell we had to look for someone to come to check us out which caused us stress as we were late to leave. Dissapointed as it was the most magical holiday for us, but the hotel was not the best experience.

Beautifully decorated and maintained - very high quality finishes in the rooms. Grand without being formal. Delicious breakfast. Staff team superb without exception.

The public spaces are limited in the hotel & the only lounge area for guests - the Pils Bar - permits smoking (in fact it even encourages the purchase of cigars). Restaurants & bars in Riga don’t allow smoking which makes this one unfortunately popular with smokers. It’s a lovely room but you can’t relax in it - particularly in the evening- due to the cigar and cigarette smoke. My room was on the 1st floor (numbered 2nd in the building) and the smell rose. Very disappointing and completely out of kilter with the otherwise contemporary standards of the hotel.

We stayed at Grand Palace Hotel for a weekend trip for my birthday. The staff was very attentive and kind (they helped my partner prepare a little surprise as well). Our room was cleaned and put in order twice a day. They put small chocolates on our night stand after the evening order, I highly appreciated this gesture. We were very happy with our choice. The value for money was great and the location perfect too, in the Old Town. Some of the attractions of Riga Old town and best restaurants and bars were walking distance.

+ very central + excellent internet connectivity + professional service oriented team + tidy sheets, amazing bed + spontaneous late check out possible + bottled water provided (drinking water is usually not drinkable in Riga)

- not as luxury as one would expect from a 5* hotel - tiny TV, also no English movie channel - AC was not working, room in general was warm even though we put the heater off and opened the window - noisy room service in the hallway - especially in the bathroom it was obvious that the room was used for several years without renovation or replacement of isolation material etc

This is a lovely old world hotel in a very nice location in the old town. The room was comfortable and clean. The bed was good. I had a nice view of the street in front of the hotel from my window. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The bar is beautiful and I had a delicious meal there on my last night. Breakfast in the conservatory provides a great start to the day and the food was nice with a choice of buffet or menu items. Good coffee!

I had expected a place to sit in the evening apart from the bar. The bar closed incredibly early (before 10pm on 2 of my 3 nights and due to work I returned to the hotel at 10pm hoping to be able to have a nightcap before bed) which was a great pity as it is a fabulous room. I arrived at about 10.30pm the first evening and there was nothing open in the hotel - the only room service available was a really disappointing cheese plate which was very expensive and and really poor. It came with no bread, crackers, fruit, nuts etc making it unappetising. I left it and was charged for it and not asked why i had not eaten it. I would expect a lot better for a 5 star hotel. The towels and robes had seen better days and again were not 5 star

Wonderful hotel with very beautiful decor. All staff was so friendly and helpful. We loved our room which was very comfortable with amazing big bed and I didn't sleep that well since long time. Fresh chocolates and personal note to welcome us was lovely accent to start our stay. Everywhere was spotlessly clean , staff always made sure we have everything we need and they were so polite. Excellent location right in heart of old city and only ten minutes walk from bus stop to the airport. Riga is such a beautiful city with one of most beautiful architecture I've ever seen , you must visit Museum of Art Nouveau and House of the Blackheads, lovely little shops and restaurants, we are already looking forward to be coming back in the summer to explore more and go for daytrips to sea side. Giving this beautiful hotel highest ratings , thank you so much for making our stay so wonderful !

From the minute we entered into the reception room we knew this was a special place. The decor and atmosphere of the place was so welcoming and calm. From our first interaction with the exceptional staff to the moment we waved goodbye, was an absolute delight. Management, you are so lucky to have these young people on your team. We have recommended this outstanding hotel to everyone who is considering a visit to the magnificent city of Riga.
