This is our prefer location in Malaysia, this is our sentimental place . In march 1989 we have been at your place for the first time with our kids.

Compare to our last visit 3 years ago your kitchen is getting worse. Your Italian restaurant is very weak, chinese restaurant closed, beach bar and grill no more existent. You need to improve at this department. But what is really bad is the quality of beach sun beds, condition of sun umbrellas at the large pool. There is no more any water sport facilities at the beach. Catamaran long gone, no kayak. So in general, you can not count only on the first class location and lack of any competition in vicinity. You are Hyatt Regency, you have to improve.

The location. The staff and particularly Fetty and her staff in the club access lounge.

That the pool swim up bar was a little under manned and that the staff didn’t have a good knowledge of a bar and what it represents! They were polite and friendly however.

perfect location to stay for vacation in kuantan. beside hotel restaurant there is MCD, KFC, Starbuck, Subway and 7/11 store. so its like every possible eating is at walking distance. Beside beach at your almost door step.

may be there is one matter for vegetarian who has very limited choice of brekafast. ofc they try to arrange as per request.

Location and service

The room was cleaned with a kind of ‘detergent’ that don’t seem to dry up quickly. It was rather slippery and the layer stayed on for time. I wonder what did your housekeeping use ?

1) location is superb 2) beach is nice - clean 3) facilities & foods were exceptional 4) staffs were freindly, polite, and helpful 5) view was spectacular (booked room with beach view)

Not that i dont like but rather can be improved. 1) the floor was a bit sandy, i could feel the sand granules as i stepped on the floor 2) pool towel - often was no avail. But, got a chance during last day. Nevertheless the towel was torn here and there. 3) troop of monkey chased us at the parking and grabbed (stole) our food. It is indeed not the monkey to be blamed - perhaps need to contact the perhutanan team to settle this… a troop of monkey can be violent tho. But again - am not blaming the monkey as we human stole their place 😊

The Heated pools were the highlight of the place apart from the beach. We didn't get a chance to go to any of the several restaurants during our stay. Did I mention the heated pools? This is a big one for us as our sons normally would not want to join in being teenagers but since it's heated they don't mind and even enjoyed themselves.

Bell boy or Reception could have explained that the sofa was actually a sofa bed and we needed to open it up to get the 2nd double bed as advertised for family rooms. We also had to spend some time to figure out the room service menu (or where to look for it).

great location and view especially for seaview room, worth extra penny spent

currently understaffed and very limited parking spaces. Hotel is located next to public beaches, somehow non-guests can easily jump off the fence and enter the hotel area and make it less private and insecure especially when staying in the room on the ground floor. Should improve on this especially with the 5 stars hotel status

They have very good and helpful hotel staff. They are always on the look out for guest who needs assistance. Facilities was great.

The property should not promote using their refurbish statement anymore. The room we stayed was beach front on the first floor was disappointing. They should check on the rooms such as lighting, paint, doors n knobs also furnitures. For the price paid all this should be in very good condition. Their promotion on refurbishment does not show at all in the rooms we stayed.

Facilities are nice, right in front of beach. The rooms are spacious ,beautiful n clean. Staffs ever so helpful. I will always go to this hotel if I'm in kuantan

It is a beautiful beachfront resort and it's well maintained, which is what you'd expected from any Hyatt Regency property. The beach is absolutely pristine. The room was well-appointed with all the amenities and a comfortable bed. The breakfast was excellent with fare usually found in 4 or 5-star hotels in Malaysia (e.g. Western & Malaysian dishes). The staff was friendly and helpful. Finally, I booked about 6 weeks in advance and got a great rate about 40% less than the standard rate.

Other than a slight snafu surrounding a deposit refund during check-out, nothing really.
