Beautiful hotel with a lovely courtyard where breakfast is served. We nearly didn't stay here because a lot of people complain that it is on a main road. I would hardly call it a main road and there is not even enough room for two cars to pass at the same time. If you are that sensitive to noise at night then maybe Mexico is not the place for you.
Every night we could hear the "Boom Boom Boom" of music from a bar a kilometre away but I expect that is the same in all hotels. You can't hear the music, just the bass drum like someone hammering on the wall and because of the low frequency. earplugs have no effect.

This casa has so much jungle charm!! The bird songs every evening and morning were absolutely incredible as was the lush green landscaping. The location was absolutely perfect because it was right across the street from the plaza with the monastery where they do the light show every night. It was far enough removed from the center of Valladolid so that you could enjoy the peace and quiet (actually not quiet, but natural soundscapes), but still close enough that “hustle and bustle” was only a short walk away. The staff here was genuinely warm, friendly, and accommodating. A satisfying breakfast of fresh fruit, yogurt, granola, and breads with hot coffee and fresh pressed juices were the absolutely perfect way to start the day! We had booked too many activities for our 4 days in the area, so we didn’t get to spend much time just lounging around this lovely place. Next time we would want to make sure to book an extra day just to relax in/by the pool and soak in all the magic of this special little place. We would definitely stay here again, but we would book a different room.
The only negative thing I can say is that we had booked a room with a queen bed, but a queen bed is definitely not what we got. It was a small, springy, full-size mattress at best. The sheets were soft and lovely, but the mattress really was not. There was also a hammock in the room, but the way the furniture was arranged, you couldn’t actually lay on it because the bed was in the way.

Clean rooms (no bugs or whatsoever), comfy bed, maybe a bit narrow. The breakfast was really tasty and fresh, although one could include the scrambled eggs into the room price and not ask extra 180 pesos (usd 10) for 2 portions, the marketing message would be better. Very polite and kind staff, beautiful, lush, spacoius garden and patio, well maintained. Nice location, almost next to the Convent of Valladolid. We arrived a bit later than expected due to the flight delay and the car rental waiting (approx. at 9:15 local time) phoned them in advance and this was not an issue at all. To note: Valladolid time is Cancun time minus 1 hour. The room price can be paid by credit card, although the breakfast supplement cash only (they accept usd as well, 12 instead of its close to 10 value). No extra charges for the room - this is fair and transparent, thank you.
We had one mosquito in the bathroom (the net was a bit defect somewhere), but after having put it to eternal sleep, we have not encountered more from them. The entrance door of the room was a bit unstable, especially the fitted small windows on it, but could be locked. The property parking was full, but there were enough spaces on the street. Maybe one could provide a bit more drinks for breakfast (the watermelon juice was great, but the portion a bit too little).

We basically just spend one night there before leaving early in the morning to Chichen Itza. We had only a few hours for that trip before leaving the city but thanks to the friendly and well-prepared receptionist it was easy to organize (She booked us a friendly driver for the next morning for a reasonable price and we could even include a stop-over at a cenote). As well we liked her restaurant recommendation (El Atrio de Mayab) So we were happy with our short visit. And here to mention: we enjoyed the atmosphere of Valladolid in general and will stay longer next time.

The patio is gorgeous and full of plants and a sweet swimming pool. The hotel serves a simple but delicious continental breakfast with bread, fresh fruit and yogurt. The rooms were tastefully decorated and the beds were comfortable. it is close to Calzado de Frailes, which is a lovely and interesting street to walk in to get to the Central Park.
our room faced the street and the vehicles were noisy. We still slept well but would recommend rooms away from street

We loved the comfortable and cosy design of the rooms. You really feel that someone put a lot of love into this place. We stayed here twice and one of the rooms ( next to the reception) was absolutely beautiful, with well curated art and craft objects and uniquely designed bathroom. The second room we stayed had a regular bathroom, but it was still very comfortable with beautiful wooden furniture and crafted cushions. We loved the central location of the hotel and the beautiful garden, where a breakfast is served.

this is our favourite place to stay in Valladolid… the garden and pool area are beautiful and lush. The rooms are large, well appointed and quiet. the hotel is in Centro and within east walking distance to the main park , shopping and restaurants. The staff at Casa Quetzal are welcoming and helpful. it is also nice that the hotel includes a good breakfast with the price of our accommodation. Extras, like a custom omelette can be had for a modest surcharge.

The hotel gives a sensation of disconnecting from the outside world, so it is a perfect getaway if you want to rest. Nearby you have some restaurants so everything is within walking distance.
They have a problem with the POS, and we need it to pay in cash; it was late when we arrived so we need it to look for an ATM. It will be great to be informed in advance so we can prepare. But they told us it was an issue just that day.

The hotel is an old colonial (not sure if that's the correct word) house that has been converted into a hotel. Our room was a very good size with an adjoining bathroom, that, although a bit tired, was clean and worked perfectly. Actually, it added to the atmosphere. The pool isn't very large, though big enough to cool off if needed. The hotel itself is about a 15 minute walk to the centre of town, but the distance out of town is compensated by not being in the middle of the traffic. Would definitely recommend visiting Casa de los Venados, which is a private home that is open for guided tours of their art. All donations go to charity. Also of course, a visit to Chitzen Itza. We went with a collectivo, getting the first one that left at 7. The collectivo station is in the same street, same side, as the ADO bus station, but on a different block. Three nights enough in Valladolid, unless you've planned lots of day trips.
One of the receptionists tried to sell us an expensive taxi ride to Chitzen Itza, saying it was the best way to get there, but getting a collectivo is very easy and much more reasonable. Otherwise, I couldn't fault them.

We arrived from Tulum and it was a delight that Valladolid was not as crowded. Casa Quetzal really had a tranquil quiet oasis in the middle including a small pool. The room also had a Mexican hammock included, so my daughter spent her first nicht sleeping in one. The location right behind the convent was good. Car parking was possible, but limited. Room size was above avarage and we felt relaxed here. Staff was friendly and gave some good advice for restaurants. Don't miss Yerbabuena del sisal at the Convent Square and Las Campanas at the main square.
Breakfast was ok, but not much and it was rather limited in timing also, so it you want to leave early for Chizen Itza (1h drive) for example you could only get a coffee. The hotel was really a paradise retreat, but was missing some small play area and/or toys for the kids.
