Fantastic hotel, facilities, pool one of the best breakfast buffets I’d ever seen! For the most part, staff were helpful.

Two less then par experiences with staff. Having read all the reviews online and trip advisor, I was conscious this may been the case. For the most part at check in reception, concierge, doormen and breakfast staff were super friendly. However the pool staff weren’t helpful. We went to the pool three times during our stay, had to wave them over each time for towels, asked for umbrellas, which never came, and the worst was when we ordered food & drink and it didn’t arrive. After an hour of waiting we just left. We flagged during check out and the receptionist didn’t offer an apology. The check out receptionist wasn’t friendly or helpful either.

The hotel had a great location - even the rooms were very decent! They gave us a nice room with a balcony as my wife and I were celebrating our anniversary. They were kind enough to send us a cake to the room - which we both greatly appreciated!

If I had to point out one concern for the hotel - on the last day I was slightly disappointed by the staff outside who hailed us a taxi. Their mannerisms suggested that they were only looking for a tip from us as we departed. I told them we had to go to the train station to catch our train to Rabat. They didn't listen and thank God I asked the taxi driver midway as the journey seemed longer than usual. It turned out they had told him we were going to the airport, whereas, we had to go to the train station which was maybe at most 8-10 minutes ride from the property. Thank God we made it on time, literally two minutes before our train left. I feel their staff should pay more attention to what the guests are saying and not be lurking around for tips.

I don't usually write comments. We travel around the world, and I have to say Sofitel Marrakech has gone beyond the extra mile in service. We were greeted and made a feel at home right away by the front desk with a sincere, lovely lady with beautiful curly hair. Morrocon tea & macaroons were served. We also have a room upgrade and they made our anniversary very special. The concierge, Mr Reda, was on top of everything- knowledgeable, excellent service, gave great recommendations, and we had a professional tour guide, Mr Joseph, and polite driver, Ayub. My husband had a good chat with them Spa: I did my nails. Nice place and v clean. The young girl is so cute, we had a good chat Our flight going back was at night time; they kindly gave an extended time. Thank you; Touria, Soukauna, Chaimaa, Saool - keep it up. Breakfast; spoiled with choices. The eggs department is my favourite because the chef sings, and he has an amazing voice, oh la la. All the breakfast staff from the host, server, and everyone were very alert and friendly. It was Eid, so there were singing from traditional musicians. Great and fun experience We tried late dinner at the Asian cuisine outdoor restaurant; good vibes, I enjoyed the food, hubby enjoyed his drinks :) Overall, we are impressed by the service. Well done, Sofitel

Could have a fan in the terrace lounge area.

- service was great, shout out to Bakl at the Darkum place for being the best service provider - pool was nice and big - bed is the most comfortable bed I’ve ever had at a hotel - design of the hotel is very beautiful

- charged us $24 for 2 extra coffees in the room and we were staying in a suite - suite was a strange design, main bathroom with tub no toilet, a small room for toilet on the other side of room, and then another small room for the shower - music at SO lounge wasn’t great

Fantastic team, very helpful and obliging, excellent service in all areas, will definitely be back, from zina in the spa to zaki in the restaurant, special mention to Fatima for my birthday surprises

There is nothing we didn't like, if there's one thing I would say the music at night was far too loud after a certain time, which was slightly irritating if you wanted an early night

Check-in was smooth and easy. The lady at the front desk (I forgot her name was but she had brown hair) was very nice, well-spoken, and welcoming. She did a fantastic job of getting us checked in very quickly and immediately offered us refreshing Moroccan mint teas after we said that we were off to a bad start at the airport because the airline lost our luggage. She was very eager to assist and willing to go the extra mile for guests. She even gave us a free room upgrade upon learning that it was our first time in Marrakech. It was a sweet treat, as I celebrated my birthday on that week as well. The room was spacious and comfortable. Bathroom felt luxurious and amazing. My only concern was that there were not enough toiletries for two people, but it was easily solved by asking for it from housekeeping staff. Breakfast was superb and had a lot of selections. My other concern was that it could take you a while to get the staff’s attention for tea or coffee when place fills up. Otherwise, the quality of the food was second to none. We also booked ourselves in for a relaxing afternoon at the hotel spa. We went for the hammam and whole body massage and I have to say, it was one of the best scrubdowns and massage I’ve ever had in my life. Every penny that I paid for that service was absolutely worth it. My therapist (Zena from Tunisia) was very adept and skillful about finding my sore and tense spots. I left the spa feeling like a new man. Shame that we weren’t able to use the heated pool, but I’m sure that could have been class as well. Overall, I had a dream stay in Sofitel Marrakech and I’m already looking forward to coming back next year. 😁

loved that the hotel has a lounge and spots you can hangout you dont have to leave, the gym was nice, breakfast too

Hate the fact my card didn't work when I got in, I had to pay with cash and I was over charged, someone at the concierge over charged me to help me get sim card, and came back with an empty sim pack, there was a foul smell coming out from my room sink the rest of the few days of my stay, I complained but nothing was done the house keeping kept managing it with air fresheners that didn't work for too long, went for dinner was charged 480 dirhams that's equivalent to $51, their food was really pricey, they should be a bit fair with price, And maybe add some more continental food to their menu, i couldn't eat their food had to end up ordering pizza hut and kfc, which I shouldn't do. the hotel is great and all, just need more food on the menu and less rip offs
