An astonishing place. I guess it mainly serves as a function centre, conferences, and particularly weddings for which it is superbly appointed. When we stayed here there were only six other couples staying and we received a complementary room upgrade . The room was beautifully appointed with a spa bath and walk in shower. Tea and coffee making facilities and a fridge were provided and a self service continental breakfast was included. There was no evening meal or bar service during our stay but all the hotels facilities, beautiful gardens and indoor and outdoor seating were available such that we could bring our own provisions in with us. This suited us fine. Both Hamilton and Cambridge are only a short drive away should you require to dine out.

Location is out of the way behind a local airport and next to a house with a large cornfield. I enjoyed the quietness of it. Only minutes away from the incredible Hamilton Gardens. It’s a really good value for your money and breakfast was lovely.

Bed was a bit soft. I would have liked to have known it wasn’t a very visited hotel because when we drove up the parking lot was completely empty which felt odd. I just think they use the facilities more for events than a hotel.

This hotel is located in a beautiful rural setting, very friendly and accommodating staff, comfortable rooms, indoor and outdoor areas for casual gathering, beautifully landscaped…a perfect place for rest and relaxation. It’s about 15 minutes from Hamilton if there’s a need for visiting a city. This would be a beautiful location for a wedding or other such gathering!

Breakfast was excellent. Particularly the selection of wonderful breads. Fabulous to see vegetarian/vegan options. Lovely grounds. The room was quiet overnight despite being close to the airport. Great set up for a wedding, conference or retreat.

Partial door to bathroom. We would have preferred a sealed door on the toilet/bathroom for privacy. Also there was no where to hang towels in the bathroom other than the clothes rack

I loved the location, decor, the comfort feel, the vibe. Quiet and private and very lovely staff.

I didn’t like that the room took so long to cool and it was super hot for a while…but it eventually did cool down at night. Also the fact that the doors don’t self lock so if you forgot to lock the door from the inside it would essentially be unlocked and anyone could just come in…

It is away from the Madding crowd, it is a beautiful property, lovely ambience, secluded,beautifully planted and maintained. Lots of birdlife.

Starting To become dated, needs the bathrooms in particular to be smartened up. Basins are too shallow to cope with the water pressure, must make for a bigger job for the staff. Cleaners.

The setting and the hotel building are great. Love the design and feel of the property. Breakfast was simple continental, but lots of choice.

The reception / dinning / lounge are was quite cool.... outside was very cold. There were some well placed heaters however might be improved with more modern heat pump system. This is however only a minor observation.

A couple of things: Floors squeak all over. One man's ceiling is another man's floor, so not easily rectified! No door on bathroom. Walls are thin. We could hear people next door and in the room above. Noisy ladies in conference room next to our bedroom.

The room, architecture, ambience, touches like towels in the communal bathrooms, staff were friendly although short staffed. Very close to fieldays. It felt quite luxurious. Loved the continental breakfast. Comfy bed.

Sadly Friday night they had to close the bar early and the platters ran out. They'd had a big night the day before. The driveway was narrow if you met someone.

Continental breakfast was minimal. We are gluten free and I didn’t see any GF bread, but a good variety of fruit. It was very quiet when we were there. Lovely place for a quiet WE. You do need a car to get there, but most people do. Lovely venue for a big occasion I would say. Room was huge and bathroom was triple the size of a normal hotel. Lovely spa bath .
