For cyclists this place is nirvana and so close to the Avantidrome, river cycle trails and long straight quiet country roads out west [all accessible just outside the main entranceway] Great spacious courtyards with shade sails and plenty of grass areas for kids/dogs to run around on too. Tucked away from the main town centre so in a lovely quiet rural spot. The "Hub" kitchen/dining room is an awesome facility with all the cooking equipment/appliances you could imagine or need with a very modern clean commercial feel. My grandkids described it "like staying at a Resort Poppa" Also such courteous and helpful staff [inc housekeping too] - eg extra fold out bed no problem, extra new towels and printing/scanning work docs etc effortless and handled "confidentially". Well done everyone at Podium Lodge - fantastic team effort. I've stayed there before and have already booked another stay later in the year with more cycling friends ... can't wait :-) :-)

It’s fairly new and well appointed modern interior decor. The grounds are well maintained and pathways lighting is good after dark. Most importantly the accommodation is modern and very well maintained. It’s clean and pleasant to live in for a couple of nights, for sure. However, for some reasons unknown to us, the hot water shower for the second person was erratic ie hot and cold.

Just the showers being inconsistent regrettably. Parking is pretty tight and first come first served basis. Can be quite a bit further than you would like if you return in the evenings.

Great facility for my requirements. Hired the Hub for a private function over 2 days in a shared space. Liked the lock up storage room that was separate to the room. Staff and their team were amazing and helpful. Plenty of parking and not too far from the town centre - 2-3min drive :)

Had a few ants in the room but nothing too concerning or effected my stay. Would have liked to have been advised to bring my own milk for the kitchen and advised it wasn't included in the hire price. Meant I had to find a supermarket to cater to my guests. But good Tea, Coffee & Hot Choc offerings.

Booked 2 bedroom apartment and also supported a netball team staying in the dorm. Great facilities, beds super comfortable. Showers and toilets fantastic. Great cooking facilities and extra appliances like toasted sandwich maker, electric frypan, rice cooker and blender for smoothies were ideal. Onsite laundry facilities awesome. Utilising the communal eating area hub for our final night dinner was lovely. Provided clean towels, tea towels and rubbish removed daily.

The dinner plates were too big / didn’t fit properly in the dishwasher. The exit light in one of the dorm end bedrooms was too bright and made it hard to sleep. Perhaps providing a small vacuum to tidy up ourselves daily would have been good. Outside lighting for Rio block?

No breakfast included. Couple of kms back to Cambridge for cafes and restaurants. Overall freshness and cleanliness of the facilities. Requesting guests to wash their own dishes raises the question of the thoroughness of the previous guests at completing that task. How clean was the mugs and glasses?

Website stated there was EV charging onsite. Had to download a clunky app for a 'charging network' that I hadn't heard of and leave money in an account which I suspect I will never use again. Nearest parking is a few steps from the units which isn't great if it's raining.

Beautiful lodge with great facilities. It is quiet and peaceful. My little Pug, Pixel, travelled with me as he had an operation in Hamilton. There are a lot of grassy areas for dogs to get a good run here. The room was very clean and new. The bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in. The owners were lovely. They were kind enough to give me a big discount on my second night. I definitely recommend Podium Lodge.

The Room, bed and facilities were exceptional, everything you need for a comfortable stay with a village like feel perfect for groups or families

It didn't feel private as all the rooms looked out on each other and the whole room is visible from outside looking straight into another room , also the choice of a pull down blind instead of a curtain to cover the glass door abd front window added to this

The studio apartment had everything we need. Very clean, cosy, comfortable, parking, laundry & wifi available and the property is close to town. We received a very warm welcome, it was so easy to book and received instant response. Communication with property was amazing. Highly recommend this property. We will be back again for waka ama nationals next year and definitely staying there again!

Site layout attractive. Being a bit out of town very relaxing and peaceful. Rooms very clean and well furnished. Beds v comfortable. Excellent cooling heat pump. Owner very friendly. Close to Cambridge. Pet friendly (even though we didn't bring our dogs this stay) Will recommend to others. Would have The Podium as first choice when we visit the area again.

Podium Lodge is very only 10 minutes from the airport and 5 minutes from the main city. Lots of parking and room for trailers/campers. Had very spacious rooms with nice linen and I liked how the toilet/shower/basins were seperate so we were not tripping over each other in the morning. Very functional kitchen with toaster, kettle, fridge and microwave. A bonus was a full kitchen in the hub so you can BYO food and drink. Easy check in and out with friendly staff. We would stay here again.
