We were a group of about 20 people on motorcycles. It was a very cold day of riding so to get to the abisko and have all the heaters turned on in the rooms and a great hot shower was fantastic. There was also a large warm room with lots of couches that we could grab a takeaway and eat all together. Then breakfast in the morning before heading off was also very much appreciated. Would highly recommend for a group.

We had the best experience with Abisko lodge. We had an issue with booking the bus from Christchurch to Methven, so we would not be able to get to our accomodation for the night. We called up, asking if we could move it to the next night. They were super accomodating when it was our mistake in the first place, and had a room ready for us no problem when we got there! The room was nice and clean, we had plenty of towels and ammenities and it was so close to the town centre where we needed to get the bus from to get to Mt Hutt. Highly recommend if you’re looking to do a couple snow days. Book early cause they sell out!!

The walls aren’t super thick, but everyone got quiet at night so there wasn’t any issues with sleeping.

Came down for the peak to pub with a group of friends. Accomadation exceeded all of our expectations. The lodge was very warm and had enough room to fit all of us. Plenty of bathroom facilities and the beds/bedrooms were comfy and clean. The lodge is located perfect for walking distance to town, bars and restaurants. We would all definitely stay again !!!

it was spacious, clean and warm, the fireplace was lovely and the beds were comfortable, we also enjoyed the Sauna.

The kitchen didn't have many facilities and some of them were quite old like the dishwasher, the warm water shower pressure was very poor and the place desperately needs a new carpet downstairs.

Abisko lodge had two of the friendliest girls to cater for our every need. For value for money it was an excellent stay. The beds were extremely comfortable and the huge shared lounge was great.The breakfast was a welcome surprise. Abisko is well positioned, allowing us to walk to numerous venues for dinner. Great location for visiting Mount Hutt and Rakaia Gorge.

Central location, warm clean room, staff very friendly and accommodating. They even offered to find food outlets that supplied takeaway food as most of the restaurants were booked out. Spa looked enticing however health issues prevented my using

No fruit with breakfast cereals No cloth in room for spills...had to use toilet paper

Our needss were simple - all we needed was a comfortable bed, a shower and toilet Added to that the host went the extra mile for us. The continental breakfast was very appreciated. You could help yourself to as much or as little as you required. The situation of the accommodation was in the main street with easy access. If we return to Methven it will be our first choice.

Friendly and generous hosts. Good sized room and very comfortable bed. Free wifi and simple continental breakfast were unexpected bonuses. Bathroom facilities were excellent.

The room became a bit uncomfortable on our one warm day. Quite a bit of street and lane noise on weekdays.

The bedrooms were all a fabulous Size well equipped, very comfortable beds Having 2 bathrooms was great The fire was a bonus which was used once Very spacious unit Loved the dishwasher was a real treat

There were dirty dishes lift in dishwasher plus some pots and utensil weren't that clean

The location of where me and my husband had stay as we both hadn't been there before , Beautiful scenery as we both love the snow and love being around nature and water and the forest . Stephanie was very helpful , and very accurate in attending to quest staying at the Lodge. Friendly happy and a generous woman and person to be around , and exceptional communication when my husband and i had arrived from Christchurch Very Family orientated , very welcoming feeling and you get the feeing of being at home and being around a lovely place , TO BE HONEST I didnt want to leave
