Perfect weekend ski retreat, warm welcome at reception on arrival . Spacious third floor studio room and a bath. We had a roast meal in the restaurant which had couches.by the fire and later had skiers winding down after an epic day on 83cm fresh snow. I loved the room plenty of space and warm . Wandering down town to Opuke hot spring in the evening. Complementary breakfast offered from 7.15am makes it good value for luxury feel.plenty of free parking , I caught a bus from door to Mt Hutt.

Bed was good but I was restless. Watch your head on edges of ceiling .by bed . The bar / restaurant is really big and a pretty cool design with different seating areas and I imagine it as the event venue it is , imagined the space as a big wedding reception with a band, wrap around internal balcony overlooking a generous dance floor. Could easily hold 100+ people - so it was warm but not ‘ intimate cosy’ space due to size. It does have couches by the fire.

Location is great short walk to town, room is spacious and adequate for 3 guests, beds are comfortable with quality linen, bathroom well appointed and immaculately clean, continental breakfast was good. for the room rate it was overall good value for money.

The property is a bit lack lustre with no facilities other than the room which is practical but dated and can use some modern touches, as could the rest of the hotel. Using "Resort" in its title is a tad misleading but the room rate should suggest and assist with ones expectations.

The Staff here are what made our stay so enjoyable. They were all friendly, approachable and accommodating. The Resort was busy with a conference but they still took the time to say hello and have a chat. They knew the area and were able to provide advice or suggestions of things to do and see. The food was very nice!

After 3 nights the single room (Queen and 2 single beds), it did start to feel a little small but as we were out and about during the day and part of the evenings the space was ok.

The beds were comfy. The food at the restaurant was excellent. The included breakfast was nice, but nothing fancy. We were able to walk into town to most restaurants and services. We had access to the drying room for our gear and the laundry to save some time when we went home.

There was a fair amount of noise from the hallways and neighbouring rooms. It didn't last into the night, but we were going trying to get to bed early to be up for skiing in the morning.

We were so impressed by our experience with Methven Resort. The staff were awesome, we had dinner at the restaurant and everything was so delicious, there was a surprise continental breakfast included, our beds were comfy, the room was nice & clean, the value for money was exceptional, there were toys & activities that our young children enjoyed, and the location was perfect for access to Mt Hutt ski field. A great stay that we would highly recommend!

For the price, and comparing it to other places we have stayed recent, it was TREMENDOUS value. The room was spacious, clean, warm and well equipped. We even had a bath! And a free laundry! We've stayed in campground cabins for triple what we spent here.

What's not to like? At this price, nothing! Sure, there could have been more "little goodies" in the room or a restaurant on site... but then I'd be paying more, so I'd lose out in the end!

Great value for money. Wasn’t’ expecting much due to the low price but was pleasantly surprised. Large room that fitted 3 people comfortably with tea/coffee facilities and own bathroom with both a bath and shower. Wonderful friendly staff and complimentary continental breakfast included. Would happily stay again.

A little bit dated but they were in the process of modernising. Nothing off putting though, very clean and comfortable.

Rooms were clean & tidy and staff were helpful.

Restaurant menu & own brewed beer options looked great but weren't available. I would have gone elsewhere for dinner if i knew that the menu wasn't available. But the burger i had was good.

Excellent check in service, the staff saw that we were in need of a power box while refreshing the room and provided one plugged in without us asking. Beds were very comfortable and the room was really warm, highly recommend staying here if you're looking in the area

If I had to be picky,the bathroom could do with better ventilation but other than that it was perfect

A comfortable room with a nice view out to the hills. The staff were very helpful at check-in and made me feel right at home. The complementary breakfast was a nice touch too.

The bar/restaurant was closed the night I stayed, but this is understandable during fringe season for the ski field. It's close location to town made it easy to find a meal.
