This felt like a honeymoon suite and was the outstanding accommodation of our whole holiday exploring most of New Zealand. The bedroom was large and very comfortable with a delightful balcony and its bathroom was luxurious in every way. Breakfast was delicious and as stylish as the rest of the hotel, all prepared to order, not a buffet.

It's not possible to bring a car right to the front door as the hotel is in a pedestrianised block, but in fact we were able to park for unloading just 40m away and it didn't cause us any problems

We did not partake of breakfast as it was not served on the premises.

I think the pricing is a little high considering the location which can be noisy at the weekends and there is a $35 charge for valet parking. Also there was a large stain on the carpet which was very unsightly. You need new carpets. Parking was an issue too. Although in your defense my car was Excessively tall and couldn't fit into the underground car park. This meant that I had to keep running out to renew the parking ticket on the public road. Annoying but not entirely your fault. Staff were great, food at the restaurant was good and loved the fireplace in the room.

Everything was amazing with our stay in the spire hotel. Firstly, the reception staff was really professional and helpful, she even initiated to help us decide on where to have for dinner and booked the table for us. Secondly, the room is massive, there’s even a separated section for the wardrobe. The water pressure is amazing, which is really important to us. The fireplace makes the room so warm and cozy. They have smart tv as well, with Netflix and YouTube installed. All their non alcoholic beverages at the minibar are complimentary. They serve amazing breakfast as well, not the buffet style, but ala carte, and you can choose to have it in your room or in the restaurant. We had dinner at their restaurant on our first night, the food was unexpectedly great, and the bill came so much more reasonable than other restaurants we went during the trip. Everything was just spectacular.

It might be able to hear noises from the street during weekends as it is located right in the heart of town, but we weren’t affected we love the ambience of the city.

That breakfast was AWESOME!!! I forget the gentleman’s name from France, but he was AWESOME!!! He serves with a heart of gold!!! Alejandro was OUTSTANDING!!! He meets a guest with whatever requests come his way!!! Anna was AMAZINGLY GENEROUS AND KIND SPIRITED!!! Luz was generous with her advice and information!!! They ALL compliment one another EXCEPTIONALLY WELL 💯‼️

EVERYTHING WAS SPENDID!!!

We were only able to dine at The Grill twice during our 4 days stay for breakfast but we found it exemplary in terms of view, service and food.

Everything was exceptional. We thoroughly enjoyed everything we experienced from The Spire Hotel. Our only regrets are we did not have enough time to experience the wellness center or to dine at The Grill for dinner. We were just constantly on the move with adventure. But we are committed to returning and of course staying at the Spire.

it was right in the Centre of town, over looking the beautiful church and vicarage. staff were friendly and even left us a bottle of champagne and chocolate to celebrate our special day. we had an amazing breakfast at a lovely restaurant the next morning that was exceptional

it was a little noisy because it was in the centre of town and a Friday night there was a bit of noise. the room was also super warm which meant we needed to open the windows/doors as we couldn’t get the temperature down enough with the air conditioning

Beautiful rooms with comfy beds and a toasty warm gas fire. The bathroom was stunning with shutters that could be opened to look out over the views while having a bath. Very convenient location right in the city centre and less than 1 min walk from the lake.

The compromise that comes with the great location is that the property is right next to a (great) bar that can get a bit noisy at nighttime.

Loved the design of hotel, room and restaurant. Delicious breakfasts and appreciated the early to late hours (til 11:00am). Great location. Friendly staff.

I recommend you replace the little brown square soaps in bathroom with ones that don’t leave a yucky brown smear on sink.

The staff was extremely helpful and friendly and the rooms were beautiful. The location within town is very convenient and there are many restaurant options around the hotel.

There is a bar next door and that can be a little loud if you are sensitive to noise (depends on the room selection).

Breakfast choices and flexibility to amend are outstanding. Quality of food & staff attention was top.

We were really happy with the hotel choice - the bed mattress could have been harder but we did not ask to change it.
