Friendly staff and good view

All you can eat buffet is run poorly. Went up at 9:30 and paid as per normal and staff started packing the food and took all the serving spoons away so we weren't able to get food. We asked staff to give us a spoon to serve ourselves and they got upset and gave us one for a second and took it back. Had to use our own table spoon to get some food and sat down for a few minutes and got up to get a juice and realised they've packed the juices away. Instead of stopping entry at 10am and letting the people that have paid finish their "buffet", they packed things away at 10 and left us with a tiny amount of food.

Title: A Pleasant Stay in Queenstown's Rydges Hotel I recently had the opportunity to stay at Rydges Hotel in Queenstown with a group of friends, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. Upon arrival, the friendly staff at the front desk welcomed us. However, we were a bit disappointed when we realized there was no assistance with our bags, especially after coming in from the rain. This was a departure from our previous experiences where we had always received help with our luggage. Nevertheless, we decided to look past this initial setback and focus on the positive aspects of our stay. One of the highlights of our stay was the excellent location of the hotel. It was conveniently situated within walking distance of everything Queenstown has to offer. We thoroughly enjoyed exploring the beautiful streets, bustling cafes, and charming shops in the vicinity. The hotel's proximity to local attractions added to the overall experience of staying in Queenstown. During our time at Rydges, we also made use of the bar area located upstairs. It provided a great atmosphere to unwind and relax after a day of exploring the city. The staff at the front desk were always available and willing to assist us with any questions or requests we had, which enhanced our overall impression of the hotel. In conclusion, despite a minor hiccup upon arrival, our experience at Rydges Hotel in Queenstown was generally positive. The convenient location, charming surroundings, and helpful staff made our stay enjoyable. We would recommend Rydges Hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and well-situated accommodation option in Queenstown.

Would have liked help with luggage on arrival.

Location, lake and mountain views, friendly helpful staff. Especially Harry at reception.

Non existing room service. Although we requested the room to be refreshed on the Friday, 08/12/23, and were away for most of the day, the wet towels were still on the bathroom floor, cups were not rinsed again, paper baskets were not emptied upon our return at 4:45pm. We informed the front desk but the cleaners had left for the day and we were given two bath towels and an apology. I’m sorry but this is really unacceptable given the linen trolley was parked in the corridor by the room. The notice to clean was still dangling from the door hand. What a great disappointment when paying for a premium king size room with views over Wakatipu and Remarkables. A blemish on an otherwise great five days at the Rydges.

LakeView upgrade was lovely, but unless you are planning to spend alot of time in the room, there are plenty of opportunities to see the lakes from Queenstown Not a Hotel issue, it's your choice. I am sure the non lake view Rooms are just as spacious and comfortable. Location is great, easy walk along the lake and just far enough out of the hustle and bustle of a very busy Queenstown.

Understand there were lots of tourists, hotels were full and staff shortages are a problem. We arrived early for our checkin, with no expectation of a room; put our bags in storage and were told the room would be ready by 3pm. We returned at 4pm to find our room was not ready (told 3 times it would be 20mins) and waited in Reception until almost 5pm to get our room. The Front staff were very apologetic, but simply did not have a clean lakeview room to put us in. Whilst we did get a complimentary apology bottle to our room, may have been better to offer a drink while we sat in reception for an hour.

Great location, great views from the room, lovely public areas recently renovated. The bar, dining room and lobby were all really nicely done out and all the staff were really friendly. It has an upmarket but funky feel and feels like it was a recent renovation. A very short walk from the main town which was great. Everything including the public area toilets were impeccably clean throughout.

The bedrooms are comfortable enough but pretty dated and need a refurb. The bathrooms were functional but very very basic, the walls are made from plastic sheeting which gives them a very cheap backpacker hostel feel. Just nowhere near good enough for the price per night charged.

I booked a lake view room and liked the one allocated for our stay. I like how the top floor bar and breakfast areas are open to all guests and provide a great spot to look out over the lake. The location so close to the main town area is ideal.

The resort rooms are getting a little tired but good that the reception area is bright and welcoming. I know accommodation places with parking are at a premium in Queenstown & all hotel revenue is deserved but it would be appreciated for all guests staying 2 nights or longer do not have to pay for parking.

We love the proximity of the hotel to all restaurants in town as well as the great lakeside walk across the road. The breakfast, restaurant and bar serve great food and drinks.

We were initially allocated a room with a double bed, better suited to a child. They kindly relocated us to a room with a king size bed. However, the interconnecting room door has no acoustic barrier, and you can literally hear every conversation clearly, but it didnt worry us as we were enjoying the mountain hikes all day.

The staff went above and beyond to make our trip the best it could be. We had a beautiful room with gorgeous views. We were in the best location to both just sit back and relax but also only a short walk into the main city where all the action is. Great value for money and easy to access facilities.

The process to redeem vouchers for not getting daily servicing wasn't really explained to us, once we asked however we were able to use easily.

Only a 5 minute walk to centre of town along the esplanade. good size rooms. staff very friendly. Easy walk to Skyline and all the pubs, clubs and restaurants. There is onsite parking for $15/night, I thought that was good value as free street parking is hard to get, it was easy and convenient. We had a lake view room and the lake is just stunning from dawn to dusk.

There is no air conditioning in the rooms, something we assumed it would have coming from Australia, we were here is February and it was very hot if you’re visiting in the cooler months this is not going to be a problem, they do have heating. We had included breakfast however out of 5 mornings, only ate here 3 times, they serve the same thing every day and it does get a bit boring so we did eat out for breakfast twice during our 5 night stay.
