Welcomed with a refreshing drink of our choice & an interesting patter on the history of the "ol' girl". If history is your bent you will love this place. We enjoyed the ambience the lovely Lady Bowen had to offer. Steeped in history was an added pleasure. Well kept garden with the added 'Daisy' (resident cat) who made it feel like 'home from home'. Exceptionally clean and very comfortable. Slept so well. Lovely hot showers. Breakfast was yummy, cooked to order, delicious and more than enough. A great start to send us on our travels. Stu & Barbara were great hosts. Very informative & helpful on what to do and where to go in Thames.

The B&b is very comfortable, clean and has everything you could possibly need. Best place we've been all year. They cook your breakfast fresh and right in front of you, and everything is thought off like clockwork. Do NOT let the shared bathrooms scare you. There are enought showers, washing sinks and bathrooms for everybody and all very clean. The B&b was fully booked and we have only seen the other visitors in passing in the hallway downstairs or in the breakfast area in the morning. The owners are very nice and helpfull people and go far and beyond to make your stay enjoyable. The B&b is only a short drive to canyoning in the park with canyonz and the doc visitors center to hike to the Pinnacles.

Nothing I can think off, besides maybe that I had too much to choose from: do I relax on the balcony on the first floor and see the sunset, or enjoy the beautiful plants and sit in the garden, or do I enjoy a game of 8-ball on the pool table in the sitting room with my family?

The location is off the main streets so it's quiet and parking is easy. Very peaceful area. Bedrooms were upstairs via stairway. Proprietor carried bags up for us which was very nice. Had a welcome glass of wine and enjoyed the back garden area which has picnic tables and chairs. We also had an excellent breakfast in the garden in the morning. The kitchen/dining area is quite large, with multiple tables for guests. The bath/toilet area is shared, but has multiple toilets and showers, and there are multiple sink areas as well. It all worked out quite well. It was a lovely place to stay.

No complaints, had a lovely night's sleep.

My daughter met me in Auckland from California and I came from Texas. Barbara and Stu were so sweet, kind and friendly. The breakfast room has a beautiful rectangle table I wanted to take home with me. The breakfast was amazing! Crispy meaty bacon, tasty sausage and the eggs were perfectly round. Thanks again for everything!

I have no complaints! I've been to a few bed and breakfast and just added another to my list. Keep up the good work Stu and Barbara. I hope to see you again.

Friendly easygoing owners of a historical building that is part of the Thames/Coromandel experience. The owners are very open about the “gold rush” simplicity of their home & provided lots of history to go with it. The whole package worked well for us. And yes, key to b&b success, breakfast arrangements were great for getting our days off to a good start, on time & owners were keen to assist in providing information and/or supplies where they could. THANK YOU!

There wasn’t anything we didn’t like, we really enjoyed our experience. The breakfast was tasty and filling in a pleasant dining room. The only thing we might suggest for multi-night visitors is some variation in the breakfast main course.

The Lady Bowen Bed & Breakfast is located in a beautifully restored building with a great history. Stu & Barbara were wonderful hosts, nothing was too much to ask for. It is located a short walk to the main centre of town, and although Thames is a fairly quiet location, we were able to have a very good mean at one of the establishments in town. The facilities in the Lady Bowen were very good and met our expectations. Stu was a wealth of knowledge regarding the local area and provided good information regarding roads and routes (we were there after major storms and just before the cyclone devastated the area). Stu prepared a wonderful breakfast prior to our departure.

Breakfast was fabulous, location was superb with a short walk to town. Rooms were comfy and plenty of shared visitor space indoors as well as a fabulous garden with outdoor seating and shady areas to sit. It was great to be able to prepare a light pre-cooked meal at other times of the day. It was a very quiet location, very close to the shore and parkland.

Everything was really good here. The hosts look after you well.

Breakfast was really good and plentiful. The welcome drink was an unexpected bonus and the host was very informative about the history of the town and the hotel.

Everything was fine and though we were a little concerned about the shared bathroom facilities, they were plentiful and caused no problems.

A lovely, quaint historic building with character! Barbara and Stu are lovely hosts and very knowledgeable about the local area. The rooms are a good size and clean and tidy. All facilities are kept clean and tidy with snacks and hot drinks always available. The hosts are always keeping the place tidy and happy to help! There's a lovely lounge with a television and pool table. Plus the cooked breakfast every morning is such a wonderful experience. It has been a lovely stay and everyone has been very accommodating. Thank you very much 😊

Beautiful sunrise view from the balcony. Super friendly owners who made our stay very comfortable. Complimentary wine or juice on arrival, tea and coffee available. Clean comfy beds too. We were hoping to see The Moehau (the Hairy Man legend) but all we saw was The Naked Man (you'll have to read the guest book.for why) ☺️🙂

Not anything really but perhaps the bathroom, though it was clean & tidy
