The lodge, and Ray (the owner), were so lovely! The place actually exceeded my expectations because I was unaware how LARGE the room is. There is an entire downstairs with a living/dining area and a kitchen that is very equipped with utensils, pots&pans, and cleaning supplies, and a huge bathroom, and then upstairs is the room with two beds. More than enough space for myself, and i believe the downstairs sofa can actually be turned into a sofa bed. The place is also pretty close to restaurants, and the beach (which you can see from your window). Wonderful value, and I would be happy to stay here again. I didn't really hear the train, but maybe I am desensitized to those noises from where I live.

The view was amazing! The lady at reception was so welcoming and an absolute sweetheart! Our room was fantastic! Spa bath, view.... on point! The master having sky was a winner! The bed could potentially be upgraded to a king and a little more firm as it was a bit of role together due to myself and husbands size difference and the mattress been Super soft. Other than that it was the best stay we have experienced in a long time!

We loved it all

Debbie was very friendly and welcoming when we checked in. The room was clean and such a good size and so was the bathroom. The views of Caroline Bay was great. The little towel arrangement on the bed was a special touch! It is in a relatively good location and despite being next to the main road, we could not hear the traffic. We wished we stayed an extra night here!

We did not have a view of the sea, but the room was nice and quiet, bed very comfortable. The hosts Deb & Ray were very welcoming and friendly. We had a meal just down the road at a Chinese restaurant , reasonably priced buffet. Timaru is quite a big place. At dusk you can go and see the fairy penguins come up the beach.

Conveniently located, wonderful and comfortable studio room with great views of the Bay. Baywatch owners - Ray and his delightful wife (sorry have forgotten her name) were fantastic and so helpful on anything requested or questions asked. Also a mention must go to the best guest welcoming 4 legged friends - two gorgeous dogs who made us very welcome! Wish we had stayed longer.

A central location that is easy to find and perfect for walking down to the parks and main streets, we had a unit that was very close to the road but didn't notice any traffic noises. The beds were comfy, the room big yet cozy and our kids loved the 2 tiny dogs.

The building is older but very well updated. The plumbing could be a bit noisy and the walls a bit thin, but I'd say that is a description of every motel in NZ.

the harbour, park and bay view was excellent it was well equipped with all the kitchen utensils we needed. the bed was comfortable. Great parking.

The room was not sound proof and noisy with passing traffic, as the windows were not double glazed. The fan in the bathroom didn’t work. There were no USB ports I couldn’t find TV instructions, accordingly, I couldn’t get it to work.

The place was clean, fresh and well laid out, it had tv upstairs and down! You could watch Netflix disney anything you like! The service was quick and really friendly, spoke to my kids and joked with them. Overall really comfortable stay the couch super comfy too almost slept on it!

The owners were incredibly nice, and gave us a huge box of toys for our toddler to play with for our stay. They had two very sweet little dogs who my daughter loved patting. The location was great for walking down to the shoreline/gardens area and the fact that it was a two story apartment was great as my partner and I could relax after our daughter went to sleep

It is a little dated but impeccably clean. A friendly welcome. This was our last night in New Zealand so we paid a little more for a sea view and it was worth it . Room 14 is large bright and airy and has a great view from a huge window. Minutes from the beach and an easy walk to restaurants. The owners and the staff were so friendly and helpful
