Excellent location, central to many attractions it is within walking distance to museums and downtown, directly across the street to cable car. Parking wasn't as difficult as some opinions suggested, it cost $35 per night. The reception guys were well prepared with printed plans of the area and directions for the guests, however, the Gray St. lane is busy and can be difficult to check in because there are only two bays belonging to Double Tree Hilton. The staff at the reception was very polite and attentive, they made us feel welcomed and important. Good breakfast.

Restaurant opening hours are short by European standards and although we wanted to dine there the place was shut.

It was in a very convenient location with groceries, restaurants, and the cable car nearby. We were easily able to walk to the wharf area and to the football stadium. The room was comfortable other than issues with the HVAC that the staff worked diligently to correct. Having outlets on both sides of the bed was a huge plus for us since we both use CPAP machines to sleep. The bathroom was a great size with an excellent walk-in-shower.

We had issues with the air conditioning in our room but the staff went above and beyond to accommodate us. The bed was a little firm for our taste.

The beds are always lovely to sleep in, very comfortable. We always stay there as the location is just so good for everything from shopping, my exercise programme walking on the waterfront. We came down for WOW great to walk five minutes to the venue. Nice places to visit, meeting friends so easy. Used the treadmill this time in the gym. Transport is just there, the cable car etc . Like having the restaurant in the same place too.

Liked it all, as always but just one thing would be nice if the restaurant could stay open a bit later like other Hotels do.

The location was great but we were super impressed with our room which I upgraded to a Junior Suite for a reasonable price. Bathroom was fabulous with great products. Superbly clean, loved the bed & sheets etc. Check in was also very good, easy & no fuss check in.

Breakfast let’s the Doubletree down. 2 Waiters on breakfast duty one didn’t speak a word of English & he was the main waiter serving guests the other waiter who should have been doing the main serving was wiping cutlery & really not much else, we ordered soft boiled eggs which he forgot to put in the order & ended up taking 35 minutes & were hard boiled. Non English Jose did his very best but was under the pump from the start. Considering there were only 8 people including my husband & I found this not up to standard also please remove porridge next to baked beans in bain marie as sauce from baked beans & also baked beans end up in the porridge which you possibly cannot eat.

Staff were very friendly, great service from the young spanish speaking gentleman at breakfast each morning, sorry I didn't remember his name but great nature and willingness to help. Location was great for walking to where we needed to go in the city.

I thought the booking was for two queen beds, when I found two single beds I was shocked especially with the price per night we had paid. Something out of your control was the roadworks in the area and noise by workers at the neighbouring buildings, but understand that is what you get with inner city accommodation. Next time I will bring ear plugs.

Breakfast choices were good. Porridge made perfectly. Food at dinner always good - also room service dinners were tasty eg chips had spices, potato mixture with cauliflower cheese was creative. Staff are happy in their work and ready to be friendly and chatty. Special mention would be Zoe dining room manager and Zed (?) a staff member in the dining room. The bathroom was really great - loved the cabinet where there was plenty of space for all my toiletries. Shower perfect - easy to adjust for height and water temperature. Large enough and plenty of towels including face cloths which many hotels have dropped for some strange reason!

The “ faded elegance” of the dining room is perhaps getting a little too faded - the chairs are not comfortable and the strange sewn-on chair arm covers over the wooden arms cannot be cleaned therefore inappropriate in that setting Also in the bedroom we would prefer bedside lights to the hanging bulbs though elegant to look at are attached to the main lighting so not really soft enough to have as a bedside light. The reading lights in the ceiling are too bright and far away in the ceiling - reminded me of the cabin lights in a plane where again they are rather harsh.

From the moment we arrived, warmly welcomed and helpful, excellent communication explaining the parking procedure. Room is beautiful, super clean, with lovely touches of quality linen, coffees and snacks, so appreciated. Functional and clean bathroom, pleasure to use:) Buffet Breakfast 10/10. Loved the calming background music when walking thru Hotel too!! Loved the decor through out the hotel, felt special.

Shame carparking is not more handy/easier. Thinking next time we stay it will be more fluid as we have done it before. As long as we can drop off luggage in reserved car spaces outside hotel that would help too. Good to know in advance about the drop off carpark spaces and Clearer signage for the carpark spaces outside the hotel would be helpful

I have stayed here every time when i am staying in Wellington, and I love it for the location so central. The staff are so friendly and helpful. I have just had six days staying there on my own and it was perfect. The beds I love! The Manager at the Spring Kitchen is a delight and the food is wonderful. One thing that I have thought of is that for women the lighting in the bathroom is a bit dim for us putting on makeup. Especially women who wear glasses. A brighter light by the mirror would be a bonus.

There was nothing!!

The hotel was super central and very convenient to visit Wellington, being a stone's throw away from the tram. The room was large and comfortable given we were in the city centre, and quiet despite overlooking a crossing, and there was convenient parking.

The hotel being part of a large chain, the room lacked the charm of an independent hotel whilst not quite offering the wow factor of some higher-end places, but it was perfect for a short stay given its location.

Perfectly sized, spacious room, clean, comfortable, great location and wonderful staff. Love the bath/shower/hair products. Food at their restaurant is good too.

Can hear the water sounds from the bathroom (upstairs I think?) and the phone from next door. The phone ringing bothered me because the people next door had their calls really early.
