The introduction to the room was great. We were talked through the important things to get the spa bath going and to get to sky sport on the tv. Everything else was straightforward, but that personal touch was nice. The bed was also really comfy and decent sized room.

I didn't like how close to the road it is. Especially peak hour times, it makes it difficult to get out. With a window open, you can hear the road so clearly (we were in the room closest to the road). Not much can be done about that though. Would have liked hot chocolate as a drink option in with the tea and coffee.

The owner was so friendly and helpfully you immediately felt at home. We traveled for a wedding and my brother Inlaw needed to take his boat as was heading on holiday on the Monday, and it was no problem to have it parked up at the motel over the weekend, which we really appreciated. We are now talking about taking our whole family to stay at some point in the near future.

Nothing, we highly recommend this Motel.

ALTHOUGH POSITIONED JUST OFF THE VERY BUSY STATE HIGHWAY IT IS SURPRISINGLY QUIET.DOUBLE GLAZING CERTAINLY HELPS. WE STAYED IN THE NEWER UNITS SITUATED AT THE FRONT OF THE PROPERTY, PLENTY OF PARKING AND OVERLOOKING THE GARDEN WITH ACCESS FROM YOUR ROOM AND A TABLE AND CHAIRS. COMFORTABLE BED, GOOD FACILITIES IN KITCHEN, WE WERE ABLE TO COOK MEALS WITH ENOUGH UTENSILS TO PRODUCE A DECENT MEAL.

WATCH THE WATER FROM THE WALK IN SHOWER WHICH COMES OUT ONTO THE BATHROOM FLOOR. A MINOR IRRITATION ONLY. THE TV IS A BIT SMALL FOR THE SIZE OF THE ROOM.

Mike works so hard for his customers. He's a dawn-to-dusk owner and nothing is a problem. The units, even the more modern ones, are larger than most equivalent motels, so there's plenty of room to sprawl.

The wi-fi can be sketchy as you get further from the central router. And, while it is unavoidable, SH1 does create some noise and a few fun times getting into the flow of the traffic.

I arrived in the evening and the heater had been put on for me so the room was lovely and toasty! The host was lovely and showed me all the features (including how to work the TV). So nice to have an electric blanket and also I was given a small bottle of milk which was great (rather than the silly little containers of milk). Great to have a cafe with good coffee next door.

It was a bit noisy.

Mike and Charlotte made us feel very welcome and had time for a chat. The unit was spotless, spacious, warm and the facilities were excellent ( there was even hand and body lotion in the bathroom). Use of the washing machine was free ($3 dollars for drying) and was so simple to use. The motel is close to the road, but was so quiet. We wished we were staying longer!

Nothing not to like.

The room offered a huge amount of space. The bed was big and comfortable. The bathroom was fantastic with a roll-in shower and a spa bath. Probably the best accommodation value we've experienced any where in the South Island.

The spa bath did not have a handrail to improve access which we thought was a little unusual in a disability unit.

We stayed there because of the location can walk to fruit shop bakery bottle shop tavern for a meal or a drink even two if you like excellent

What can I say. Even the weather turned it on maybe bathroom could be bigger but I managed

Warmly greeted by the Host and the unit was lovely and warm when we arrived, which was really needed on a very icy cold day. Both the bed and sofa were nice and comfy and we both had a restful sleep. Nice surroundings and the pool area would be fantastic in the summer. Host was also very helpful advising of places to eat/drink etc.. We liked that they were proactive and provided a dedicated container to recycle any valid waste materials.

Nothing, everything we needed was provided.

We stayed in the kingsize room, very spacious, bed comfy, lovely spa bath, kitchen facilities good, decent sized fridge for our cold food. Able to do some washing without being charged, small fee to use dryer.

There were no tissues or paper towels, some places provide these and they come in handy, everything else was excellent, thank you a lovely, peaceful night
