If there is anything called perfection, this resort wins it all. From the service to the people, food, room, and all the facilities just blew my mind. I stayed there for 2 days only but it won my heart. I was welcome with shampagne and snacks. Every staff was super kind and friendly they all made me feel like a princess. The food was extremely tasty. And the view from the hotel is like you landed in paradise!

I didn't like that I did not have enough off days to spend there.

Very good hotel and facilities, very attentive, helpful and friendly staff, big rooms, very nice and taken care of gardens, access to private beach, several swimming pools so that even during high season you can find a spot to enjoy the sun/water. I will defintely recommend/come back. :)

Not to many options at breakfast for vegetarians/lactose free persons. You actually need to ask every morning for gluten free bread. For a 5 star hotel there could be more diversity and a dedicated breakfast section for people with dietary restrictions (so they can actually be able to choose from).

The staff here were exceptional - accommodated everything we asked for. Breakfast was an excellent buffet, service was attentive and friendly. The view from the terrace was very special and because of the time of year (first week of November) the low number of guests meant it was easy to get some quiet space. The grounds are beautifully kept and a real joy to walk around.

The trattoria restaurant closed on the 1st November which meant there was only one restaurant for lunch and dinner for us without using the gastronomic restaurant and without going out of the hotel. The menu was unchanged throughout the week and as the week progressed a few more items were unavailable due to the hotel closing at the end of the second week of November. A few lighter dishes would have been great - goats cheese salad or meze/tapas style helpings for those with smaller appetites. The food was good but just a bit more variety for those who wanted to relax at the hotel would have been welcome.

I visited for a quick summer getaway (5 days) in July 2022. It was my first international trip since we welcomed Covid into our lives. This time of year was apparently their “busy” season. I rarely saw other guests except during breakfast (which was exquisite). The staff were very attentive and helpful. I especially found the concierge staff (Ricardo Portuguese) to be extremely helpful with planning prior to my arrival. As a solo traveler, I often use concierge services in advance to set up as much as possible. They were able to arrange airport transfers and upon my request, charge the transfers to my final resort bill (I prefer to avoid needing a lot of cash). The resort itself was the perfect combination of tranquility and luxury. The property grounds were beautifully maintained and included a fresh herb garden. The private beach allowed gorgeous ocean views, while basking in the sunlight. The daily breakfast buffet had a wide variety of vegetarian options and the delicious pastries changed daily. Options for soy or oat milk for my morning lattes were appreciated. The fresh seafood options at dinner were plentiful. Their spa was an absolute retreat of serenity and relaxation. The staff (Melanie) were also helpful with arranging everything. The best and most unique feature I enjoyed about the spa? The ceiling of the wet sauna was painted black and had little lights. It truly felt as though you were staring into the night sky. GENIUS! A much needed complement to an already incredible vacation. The Vilalara Thalassa Resort is a must when visiting the Algarve region of Portugal.

The beach side service staff could have been more attentive

First of all the hotel's fantastic location in an old mature garden above a wonderful almost private beach and cliffs. The hotel takes advantage of the fact that it has been there for decades. Of course, it is after an overall modern and sensitive reconstruction. However, the biggest benefit is Thallasotherpy. Their equipment and the professional level of their own therapists is quite extraordinary. however, the greatest added value is the fantastically and very professionally managed team of all employees.

Rooms were cleaned and readied very soon in the AM - by the time we had breakfast and returned, room was spic and span. Loved the small chocolates by the bed at night. Immediate service when I requested anything additional. No stress, no rush. Just ask and it was done. Excellent breakfast- food was replenished very quickly. Fast efficient service. Beach was excellent. Staff here are their greatest asset.

A few parts of the breakfast area were too sunny. Umbrellas could be opened there. It was not a major problem but just noticed it when we went later than usual for breakfast and it was a bit full.

Went with my wife and my daughter who is a toddler for a 4 night stay. Honestly, I cannot express how exceptional our experience was from when we arrived to when we left. Everything from the quality of our room and touches they made to welcome us. Their breakfast is quite possibly one the best we've come across and I'd highly recommend. The resort setting and location is absolutely beautiful with a wonderful beach. The resort looks even better in person. We had an amazing time throughout and there was enough to cater to all of us within the resort and locally too e.g. restaurants, spa, nursery, activities. Finally the most important reason for why we enjoyed our stay definitely was down to the staff/team that work there. They were very attentive, helpful and very generous in their efforts to ensure that we had a great experience. All their efforts allowed us to have a fantastic and relaxing stay that was beyond our expectations. Regarding dining in the resort some the prices were slightly higher than I think they should be but not too excessive. However, you can mix things up and there are plenty of fantastic restaurants locally you can try out too. By doing this it meant that dining at the resort occasionally wasn't actually too expensive overall. Because of how much we enjoyed our stay I made a conscious effort to try to remember and acknowledge some of the staff who really impressed us and made our stay enjoyable - including Margarida, Ines, Rita, Jonas, Tiago and some of the other staff whose names I've forgotten including those at the nursery. I truly want to say thank you to all of you and hope anyone reading this chooses to stay at Vilalara Thalassa Resort. We will definitely come again.

Everything. My husband, daughter and I had a fabulous stay in October 2023. The staff were all incredible and helpful. The breakfast was delicious with a huge range of delicious things to eat. We already miss breakfast by the terrace every day. We were sad not to be able to swim in all the pools but this was only because it was a little chilly - we made great use of the heated pool! The beach was lovely too - amazing to have quiet and private space.

Nothing to say here. Everything was exceptional.

location Is Paradise on Earth. You wake up in the garden with Birds singing, you feel like in connection with nature. Italian Restaurant has Amazing food offer and Amazing ladies staff. Great treatment at spa thanks to Mrs Christina, masseur at spa.

I felt isolated, nothing around the resort. I would suggest to improve the number of activities or entertainment insider then. there should be one more restaurant option for dinner, as there Is no other good option in the neighborhood of the resort. There Is One restaurant option for lunch and 2 for dinner.

Our room was nice and spacious. The cleaners did a fantastic job everyday making sure our room was nice & tidy. The facilities were great. 3 nice pools, some great tennis courts and small sided football pitch. Beach was conveniently close and the gym was more than adequate to have a good session. Breakfast options were good. There were so many picturesque views, a beautiful place to stay.

Overall had a great time. If I am being picky, there were a few things that I didn't like. There were the number of tiny flies that would be around us when we sat by the beach. Also, i don't think the options available for lunch / dinner were great or offered value for money. I paid 28 Euros for a turkey sandwhich at midnight because we arrived late - it was ok but overly expensive. Also, location wise, most of our journeys to restaurants etc were over 20km / 35 mins away but to be fair, the drives were pleasant on the motorway.
