Absolutely beautiful hotel with a lovely pool within the olive trees. It was peaceful and quiet and perfect for a relaxing solo trip. Breakfast was a pre-prepared selection that was really enjoyable and all staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Felt like a luxury break without the luxury price tag. I'll definitely be coming back. Also recommend the local beauty salon for a facial. A blissful hour!

Evening food in the immediate area is limited and fairly average. Although it's only €5~ in a cab to the coast where there's more choice (although very touristy).

We didn’t want a beach location so this fit our needs. The local beach scene was very unappealing so we were happy. The reception staff was excellent and the breakfast adequate. The pool looked fine but we didn’t use it.

The property is very spacious but very bizarre as is the architecture and design. Nothing fits with anything but that wasn’t important for comfort. Hardscape downright weird with a mix of every material you can imagine. But again, a matter of taste not comfort.

The vibe. The place is like a heritage one. The stay was very comfortable. The owners are lovely, friendly and the whole stay was very smooth. The place is very calm and peaceful. Good breakfast was served. It is not a hotel with full services and facilities, but just perfect if you are there to relax and to tour the area of Lagos, Albufeira, Faro. We rented a car, and it was very convenient to tour and parking was perfect and easily accessible.

Nothing that we recall. I hope they can have more income to be able to maintain this big facility. It is a big estate that needs maintenance. Hopefully they grow through the upcoming years

This hotel is worth a stay. And a long one, too. It is an oasis of peace, beautifully managed by the manager Julie. She helped us in every possible way, is attentive to every detail and devotes herself to each guest with elegance and care. The breakfast is rich and the food is of impeccable quality. As experienced travellers, we recommend this hotel without hesitation.

There are only single beds put together, no double beds.

All staff were incredible, but a special thanks goes to Julie. I told Julie that I was going to get married and had chosen the Capela das Artes to get ready for the big day. I asked her for the best room and she ensured I stayed in that room for both nights. My bridesmaids stayed at the hotel and Julie was so accommodating and kind to everyone. The staff decorated mine and my husband’s room for the wedding night. Julie if you’re reading this thank you so much for everything. Other than that, the pool is amazing. The food at the restaurant is amazing as well, the balcony is just incredible as well with an amazing view. Breakfast is FANTASTIC! It’s definitely one of the highlights, a lot of variety and yummy choices. I’m from Portugal and I will recommend this hotel to all my friends who visit the Algarve!

Anything - everything was wonderful!

It is a true oasis of peace and calm, exactly what we needed! Also Julie who greeted us was very kind and helpful with everything. The room was big and comfortable. The pool area is nice. Everything is very tastefully decorated. We really enjoyed everything!

If I have to name something, I would say that the rooms are not that well isolated soundwise, so I could hear the cleaning lady in the other rooms in the morning and couldn't sleep longer because of that. It was not a problem for me this time, but I think if I was tired, that could be a bit annoying.

Room was very clean with nice balcony and good en-suite bathroom. Location in small village ensures a quite relaxing experience, Extensive grounds with pool. Excellent breakfast served on terrace. Host Julie was really pleasant and helpful. <5 kM from beach. Great base in central Algarve if you have a car. Local Village at 5 minute walk has 3 restaurants - Restaurant O Cantinho is really excellent.

My wife booked the hotel for our annual wedding anniversary getaway. This year we decided to spend a week in The Algarve, rather than the usual sight seeing city holiday. What an amazing choice. If you want peace, tranquillity total relaxation, and a place to soak up the sun, then this is it! From the moment we got out of our taxi from Faro Airport, it was as if we had arrived back in time to this amazing 15th century farm house, which we had. Except this one was extensively refurbished to a 21st century standard, with the added style of a rustic boutique hotel. At the reception we were met by Julie, who throughout our stay was an amazing host and not just a staff member handing over room keys. We arrived quite late in the evening for check in, yet she greeting us with a warm and friendly smile. Having not yet eaten and knowing the restaurant may well have already served it's last dish of the evening, Julie asked the chef and kitchen staff if they would accommodate us for a late dinner, which they courteously prepared an outstanding first class freshly cooked meal served by Mario the head waiter. He was also extremely knowledgeable and helpful regarding the menu, the history of the building and the immediate area of our stay in the village of Alcantarilha. Our room was clean, tidy and quite sizeable, offering comfortable beds and spacious storage cupboards for hanging our clothes. We had a large terrace with table and chairs over looking the olive tree gardens, where we were fortunate enough to watch the beautiful sunrise each morning. This was truly breath taking! We booked bed and breakfast for our stay and we must say breakfast was colourful, fresh with a selection of various pastries, breads, cereals, bacon and eggs and many fruits and cheeses to chose from. A great way to start the day! However, if you wanted to, you could always nip across the road to a large Aldi supermarket for you own choice of breakfast to enjoy on your terrace/patio.

Silly question!

We loved the whole experience. The hotel is a beautiful historic building in a stunning setting. The rooms are comfortable with a decent sized balcony or terrace if on the ground floor. The breakfast served on the outside terrace is excellent quality, plentiful and substantial. The pool area itself is delightful with well positioned sun beds and large parasols. There is plenty of much needed shade. The pool itself is kept clean and is deep enough for swimming We will definitely return to this wonderful hotel. Special mention for Julia who was around evey day of our 7 night stay and is friendly yet professional and is a helpful source of local knowledge.

My husband and I stayed in Hotel Charme Capela das Artes for 6 days in our Algave Holiday and we loved the place. A charming & nice hotel. We loved the location near the beautiful beaches of Algarve , the very nice pool, the beautiful garden, and our room was very nice and clean. We loved the good breakfast. The service especially from Julie was really great, there’s a good atmosphere, everything was fine.
