I like that the hotel was in a good area, close to most of the shops, especially V&A Waterfront and the hotel was very clean.

The hotel was under construction and the was a lot of noise, it was not comfortable at all.. I also didn't like that there was no bar fridge in the rooms..

My 2nd stay here. Great location for reasonable walks to V&A waterfront and city center. Stayed in a renovated room which was nicely done. Good selection of intl TV channels. I really like this hotel for its convenience and upkeep. Parking.

Breakfast wasn't included which is menu order only. Didn't eat there at all but for a dessert craving. Other restaurants aren't readily nearby either. Don't expect much of a view from this hotel but just step outside and explore the nearby sites. Cautionary note: If driving from the airport, it is a congested and a "better be in the right lane" to get to this hotel exiting F.W.de Kierk Blvd. I recommend studying Google Maps and using its direction feature.

Breakfast was great, room was slightly disappointing on first entry, view of skip bins in car park, but as I was hardly ever in room did not matter overall though on ocassin looking out of window sighed. Room ceiling height low, but overall was a great base for four days, staff real helpful, close to city and could walk places. Knowing what I now know that no room probably has a view to speak of I would still stay here again

No fan in the bathroom so room filled with steam and I was afraid would set alarms off as happens in other hotels. No pen in the room, funny how you don’t miss them till they are not thee, but it’s ok I had my own. Gym had no towels first day, could use a water cooler and cups in there and/ or wipes for the equipment. Best view in hotel from there unless there are rooms above.

The hotel check-in staff provided exceptionally good service. They were happy to assist us with changes to our booking and were available to assist us during our stay. The location of the hotel is ideal and convenient, walking distance to the Waterfront. I would definitely stay there again! :)

The hotel provided a whatsapp number to contact the hotel. I sent a text to ask a question and my whatsapp was never answered. So maybe remove the whatsapp communication option if there is no one available to respond to guest communication. Other than that, my stay was exceptionally great.

Hotel under renovations. We had rooms that were incomplete. Missing information about using facilities, electrics not working, security issues with main door lock not working. Location of things like hairdryer all wrong. Equipment with old SA plugs In a room with new European plugs not working. Big issue, fire escape blocked, in my country the hotel would not be allowed to operate. Has potential but current layout of rooms will come with complaints. Regards, Michael Brearley.

The location was perfect. Right at the entrance to the V&A Waterfront and a short walk to the Victoria Wharf Shopping Centre. Most days we walked via the Canal from the hotel to the Wharf and it was lovely. We especially enjoyed the water machine opposite the vending machine which dispensed free ice cold and fizzy water. Upon check-in, our room wasn't ready so the hotel stored our luggage for us while we went out so we didn't have to worry about carting our luggage everywhere. The staff were always friendly and helpful.

Our only gripe would be the pillows, which were a bit flat and uncomfortable, and not quite the same as the ones we use back home. The check-in (which we learned afterwards could be done online) and check-out process was a bit slow. However, these weren't big issues at all.

The room was lovely

The fact that I booked for 2 people but we get 1 teaspoon, 1 shower cap as if the room was booked for 1 person and we had to always go to the reception and ask for extra things it got tiring and hope it will be fixed. The hotel needs to hire more cleaning staff honestly because we could see that the room wasn’t being cleaned properly. They would just make the bed and not sweep and mop the floors highly unhygienic…

The Manafer should be trained to not change the tv channels on display in the reception area and in the bar to his personal preferences when guests are watching. My credit card was lost 2 weeks before the trip and replaced by the bank. As the old card was cancelled you merely cancelled the reservation with referring the matter to me. I had to rebook at an inctlreased cost. This will definitely make me think twice before booking with you again.

So awesome to walk in at reception on day of check in and the staff recognise you by face and greet you and welcome you back to your second home. We have been staying at the City Lodge on several occasions and feel like VIP guests already. We have also been assigned our "special" room. It's not even necessary for me to ask to be allocated to our room. The reception staff are brilliant and ALWAYS go out of there way to accommodate us. All staff members of this hotel are so professional and friendly..
