Really great experience staying in the hotel. Excellent location ,very near and walking distance to shopping areas . We were also very lucky to get a really nice room with a spectacular view . Not to forget, the Nice breakfast buffet included with plenty of choices to choose from . Moreover we were lucky enough to get a free bus to waterfront which really helped included in our booking.

Some of the the staff, especially when we asked for bottles of water which we paid for were a bit unfriendly .

The location, the excellent reception, concierge and restaurant staff. Wonderful room.

The bar staff. There are about 4-5 staff at the till by the kitchen door and they tend to be extremely noisy by shouting orders at each other. Plus there is usually one barman behind the bar who has to serve customers sitting at the bar and making the drinks for other bar and pool customers, so if you’re sitting at the bar you wait for quite a while.

The Cullinan is a superb hotel which is conveniently located to the CBD, Cape Town International Conference Center and the Waterfront. The staff are friendly and extremely helpful and the breakfast will have you coming back for more. I always enjoy my stay at the Cullinan.

The room is spacious. Enough space for two persons with their big luggage :). The breakfast was definitely nice and the staff was always smiling and willing to help. The location is very nice. Close enough to waterfront. You can definitely walk from and to Waterfront. Also, the availability of the shuttle to/from the waterfront is definitely a big plus. It definitely had a very nice spa, for massages, but unfortunately, I did not have the time to experience it.

Everything was fine. Maybe the shuttle can be pushed one hour later or just till 11pm. The pool was too small. So it is not a hotel to go and enjoy the pool.

1. Rooms are on the smaller side 2. More attention to detail: we were a family of three. I had to request an additional bath towel. This was not replaced the next day. 3. For breakfast, often we would have to find an empty table, and then request for it to be cleaned up, before we could sit down. I think it would be useful to have someone at the door to just guide guests to tables and have someone else walk around and ensure that tables are cleared as guests finish breakfast.

The hotel is across the road from the conference centre. An excellent hotel with a comprehensive breakfast menu. Ebrahim at the concierge desk went out of his was to assist us. The spa on the ground floor is superb-perfect for a relaxing massage. The hotel has a nice pool and a deck to reax on. The hotel is an easy 15 min walk to the waterfront provides a nice perspective when waking during daytimes. rather use their bus services in the evenings. I like the view of the waterfront from my room.

Pillows from housekeeping took some time. A very minor inconvenience.

They have a shuttle from the hotel to the V & A Waterfront every 30 minutes. Wide varied buffet breakfast. Facilities are clean.

Although this is a non-smoking property, there were guests close to our room that were smoking (could get the strong cigarette smoke smell as soon as I exited my room - this was very unpleasant for my family & I especially that we are all non-smokers). Reported it to the hotel staff (I was told another guest also complained), but I don’t believe anything was done as the smell was there everyday!

We attended the annual Cape Town Cycle Tour and were very impressed with our stay at Southern Sun (The Cullinan), the facilities are incredible, the rooms were very clean, the staff super friendly. The hotel also went beyond the call of duty to accommodate all the cyclist. This includes setting up a coffee and breakfast station from before 5am in the morning and provided all cyclist with a hand made trophy. Thank you for a great stay and we will certainly be back.

Easy to get to. Quick walk to the wharf (or free shuttle). Right across the street from the convention centre. Nice breakfast. Our first room was really nice, big corner room, same price, but our second room was the same layout but MUCH smaller so you room can vary although both were nice enough. Beds were comfortable. Staff were friendly and very helpful.

The area is not very safe. Upon arriving our first day, mid afternoon, we looked out the window to see an older couple being mugged on the boardwalk (thankfully security was close by). One of our colleagues was attacked on his walk back on one of the nights and stabbed several times, ending up in the hospital. Another of our colleagues was carjacked on the street nearby. Be extremely careful walking alone during the day or at night. Uber works well but can be tricky to get someone after midnight.

We stayed for a week and loved this hotel. Excellent location, confortable and quiet room, beautiful facilities, especially the entrance hall with the giant Christmas tree. Good and varied breakfast and the "Stella" cafe/restaurant is excellent value for money. We had most of our dinners there. Staff is very friendly and professional. A big thanks to the receptionist at the guided tours counter who was very helpful and quick in arranging our private tour to the Cape of Good Hope. We also appreciated the breakfast boxes prepared for our early departure.

The swimming pool is quite small for the number of guests and always full. The piano player, who plays at breakfast and in the evenings, makes more noise than music, mainly because he plays so fast that all the tunes end up sounding the same. Other than this everything was perfect.
