I recently stayed at the Fairlawns, a 5-star hotel, for Valentine's Day and I'm beyond impressed. The cleanliness of the rooms was top-notch, providing a cozy and welcoming atmosphere right from the start. The food deserves a special mention; it was fresh, full of flavor, and a real highlight of our stay. The service at Fairlawns was exceptional—staff were attentive and went above and beyond to make our experience memorable. Everything felt personalized and catered to our needs, making our Valentine's celebration extra special. The attention to detail in every aspect of their service really sets Fairlawns apart. I'm giving it a 9 out of 10, simply because perfection is hard to claim, but Fairlawns comes very close. Would highly recommend for anyone looking for a luxurious and romantic getaway.

Please please do listen / read the constructive comments, and do action those. The gym is beyond outdated. Cross trainer does not work, the weights are all rusty, feels like they are falling apart. And lots of dumbbells missing. So much space, it just needs a little TLC and investment.

The coffee station leaves much to be desired- must have instant coffee The coffee pods are not suitable for a 5 star establishment. The Pod quality to the coffee machine is below a 3 star ? sad that one wakes up in a 5 star establishment only to be disappointed by the first cup of coffee ?

Everything was absolutely awesome... wish I could have stayed longer. The staff are exceptionally warm and friendly and they most definitely made every moment spent there a memory. Will always go back when I am in that area. Love it....

There was nothing that brought this thought to mind . ALL my boxes were ticked and i cant fault them on anything. An excellent home away from home !

Surroundings are beautiful and quiet, you're able to totally relax and forget you're in a city; the staff were all warm, welcoming, polite and gave efficient service; the Spa is excellent and we had the best massages ever; they were able to accommodate us last minute and even enabled early check-in. We loved our stay and didn't want to leave, it was exactly what we were looking for.

Spending the day lounging around the pool, relaxing and enjoying the sunshine was exquisite but the hotel only had 1 food menu which didn't really have the type of food one would like for relaxing, middle of the day, poolside dining i.e. the food was too high-end and elaborate for that. We'd suggest having a more casual food menu on offer for hotel guests

These are some minor improvement suggestions: I thought the room could have been equipped with more snacks/fridge stocked Was expecting a speaker with docking or blue tooth capability DSTV selection was poor (Maybe my decoder didn't work)- nowadays movies/series/music/radio on demand is common along with news and sport. Plug sockets dated - no plug in USBs

Perfect place, so delightful and peaceful ! If you're looking for a quiet stay near the city and all of the accommodations, don't hesitate, go for it ;)

The rooms are always lovely and pristine.

The rooms menu are different from the restaurant one and we can’t get room service based on the restaurant menu.

The hotel is beautiful and clean truly enjoyed our stay and wish we could've stayed longer. We are definitely coming back very soon. I think its to safe to say its my new fav place to be away from home as we live in Joburg. I would like to give 2 thumbs up to our guy Smile, he is amazing. Thank you to the overall staff they were welcoming, kind and helpful, I love beautiful things and being treated right and special and the staff excelled so its the hotel every detail.
