Hotel Maya Alicante

The breakfast was excellent. The bar dining area and lounge were clean and comfortably furnished. The airport bus stop and tram station were very close to the hotel.

The hotel restaurant wasn't open in the evenings due to it being low season. Food was available from the bar but the choice was limited and mostly not very healthy. The best option was some noodle dishes, but other than that there was nothing that we really wanted for a second evening.

This was my second visit to hotel Maya Alicante. The hotel is well driven, with a tasteful standard breakfast. You can also buy lunch or dinner. The room and reception service was good. I specially like that the hotell is close to city bus services, airport bus - and train to Benidorm. We also found some good restaurants in the neighborhood.

I am not found of standing in a bathtub when having a shower.

We had a wonderful week at Hotel Maya Alicante. We stayed half board and the breakfast and dinners were excellent - there was a wide range of choice for both breakfast and dinner (and multiple delicious puddings every night!) and it was all super tasty and fresh. We were very much impressed. Our rooms were great - close together, a really decent size, clean (and cleaned daily) and both had good views. Our kids (teenagers) particularly enjoyed the air hockey and pool tables :-) Location of the hotel was great - within easy walk of the beach and city. The swimming pool, loungers area and cafe were all excellent as well - we had somewhere for all 4 of us to lie down every day - no fights for loungers!! We highly recommend the pizzeria at the bottom of the road as well - delicious.

I would have liked a kettle/coffee making facilities in the bedroom, but that's the only negative I can think of.

Plenty of variety at breakfast, room very comfortable with powerful shower, very good price, hotel about ten minute walk from centre of town and two minute walk to the bus stop from the airport

Room doors are a bit noisy when closing which can be annoying to a light sleeper when guests arrive late or leave early

Plus: Good beds Nice view (room 705), balcony in corner. Good shower, enough pressure and warm water, you can take a bath. Good breakfast, even cava Location. You can take the bus C6 from the airport. You can see the green Santa Barbara. Tram is there just next to the hotel. We went to the Alicante Golf by tram. Not long way to the beach.

Minus: We would have liked a fresh room with blue and white colours as shown in Booking photos. We got orange :( Expected that when you come late to hotel, you get the first drinking water bottles free, but not. Once ate dinner (not incl.) at the hotel. Expected there are table clothes, but not. At the reception, when asked about the dinner, it was said that drinks included in the 21€ price, well only one drink, not even water. Suggestion: Could you keep the plates higher (where the fruits are), not low near people’s toes.

Location, cleaning, staff

The building is a bit old and the furniture and lay out are old fashion but the cleaning compensate these.

Great location, close to beach and amenities but in a quiet location. Great selection of buffet food and really pleasant staff

Great location, bus from Airport €3.85 drops off very close to Hotel, Driver shouts out stop which is Metro stop for Castle. Fabulous view of castle from our room. Great breakfast. Friendly & efficient staff. Rooms very clean.

2nd stay. First time was B&B, 2nd was Half Board, very reasonably priced option. Set menu, nice choices, good quality food, friendly Waitress....But..didn't like the set up, it was off season granted but all orders of Guests arriving at 8pm taken together on one list, then delivered to tables at very fast pace, obviously pre prepared dishes, but four courses of generous portions within 30 minutes gives the definition of fast food a whole new meaning! Perhaps it's different in High Season.

The location, the staff were all friendly and spoke English, even though we speak Spanish, this helps. We were given a sea view room after asking for one which was great as the hotel was quite full. Allowed to check in a little early too which was appreciated. Private parking provided, although cost 10 euros.

The food (breakfast) wasn’t of the highest standard but it also wasn’t that expensive so you get what you pay for. Next apartment neighbour chain smoked out of the window the whole time which unfortunately filled our room constantly. Our room was very hot even with windows constantly open. Asked at reception why aircon didn’t cool the room down to be told it didn’t work for cooling only heating! This simply cannot be true (what about the heat of summer?) and I’m guessing it means they just don’t provide aircon in autumn. Strange, because the corridors and all other parts of the hotel were at a perfect temperature, so aircon must have been working here, just not in the actual rooms.

The room had a nice view over the castle and the sea, it was spacious, comfortable and clean. Breakfast was really rich and diversified. The hotel is very close to the beach and port and it there is a bus station right in front of the hotel.

The staff from the reception insisted in asking for a cash deposit of 20euros for the pool towels. The receptionist was quite rude! We understand if they'd make a deposit on our room or card for safety reasons, but it is not ok to ask the client to take out cash from the hotel atm machine which has a 3.90eur comission! And also, they barely spoke English, while the hotel is full of british and english speaking tourists.
