A wonderful 5 star hotel located in the idealic old town of Alicante surrounded by high quality restaurants and one street away from the harbour and promenade. Exceptional facilities including spa, pool and roof top terrace sun trap and bar. The roof top pool is contained within a glass roof/sides providing a beautiful view of the castle. Very safe for kids to swim and have fun. We had large connecting family rooms with separate bathrooms providing everyone with privacy and personal space. Despite our room balcony being on the Main Street it was sound proof due to high quality terrace doors. High quality products in the room which was cleaned every day with fresh towels. Lovely to have an espresso machine in both rooms. The weather was fab experiencing 24-29 degrees in early April. The staff were very friendly, knowledgable of the local area and went out of their way to ensure we enjoyed our stay. We would specifically like to mention Jennifer who is an outstanding member of the team. Would recommend you visit El Campello which is either a short tram ride away or a 50mins bike ride which can be rented close to the hotel. An early morning trip to Santa Barba Castle is recommended with a cool drink when you reach the top to soak up the beautiful views of Alicante. We would also strongly recommend you visit the island of Tabarca taking a boat from the harbour or from Santa Pola (20min taxi ride south) which provided a more frequent service and is another beautiful town to explore. The cherry on the top was the picnic breakfast they made us as we left very early for the airport before breakfast was open - beautiful touch which encompasses the service the team provides. I liked everything. We stayed in a superior double, which was a big comfortable room, with balcony and nice view over the laneway towards the castle. spacious and bright bathroom area. Room was light during the day but nicely dark and quiet at night. Staff were amazing and so helpful. We liked the welcome drink. They also helped us to park in their carpark. Parking is very convenient with the driveway leading down right before the hotel’s main entrance. Breakfast was lovely, you could order fresh eggs or take from the buffet. Location is perfect only a block back from the beach and surrounded by so many restaurants

Room and location are excellent, as was the breakfast (delicious and lots to choose from). Breakfast staff was also excellent - hard working especially the man who seemed to be in charge.

Shower door was offset on the hinges. Glass door and wouldn't close wi hout a lot of force, which felt dangerous so we left it open and put a towel on it so nobody would walk into it. Tried to get it fixed (or removed) twice. The first time they left a note saying it had been resolved, which it hadn't. Thinking there was a miscommunication I took a video and showed them what I meant. They said they'd take care of it the next day, but nothing happened that day or the next.

Beautiful and elegant. I was originally meant to be staying with my partner but unfortunately he coulddn't make it, luckily I had friends also staying in the area. Despite that, being a solo traveler at the hotel was very welcoming and comfortable. Check in was great, a lovely welcoming lady, a glass of refreshing cava and a swift process. The room, furnishings, tea, coffee and fresh water, even a lovely welcoming chocolate was a nice start to my stay. The beautiful glassware and the well stocked mini bar were top notch additions to make it a 5 star stay. Even the fantastic toilitries that were in the bathroom and stocked up every day made it even more comfortable. The high ceilings, huge bed and ceiling to floor double doors out onto the side street balcony were a beautiful way to wake up in the morning with the gentle breeze bellowing through the curtains. Lush! I had a swedish massage and a balanise facial. What a way to unwind. The therapists, know their stuff! My skin is still clear and soft 2 weeks later! The outdoor lounge area and pool is very chic with great views of the city, it is a small area and beds can be short at times but it is an old historic building and space is limitied. I even managed to get a 40 min gym session done before the heavy food and booze took hold. The gym is compact but this does not take away from the great equipment that is avaialble. The castillo de santa barbara is well worth a walk/hike up, to take in the history of the area and also the views. From the hotel to the start point of the castle is less than 10 mins walk through the lovely old quarter of the city. I also got a 5km early morning run done up around the castle walls and down along the promenade before the heat of the day took hold and finished it off with a small breakfast and tea in front of the beach . Overall a fantastic stay and I'd love to visit again and experience it with my partner.

Just a note to help improve the service for others. The massage table pillow could be better, at times I felt like my head would roll off of it, as it was very small and it didn't provide any neck support. Maybe a rolled up towel placed under the head would also help. The rainfall shower in the bathroom wasn't working at times and would be constantly cold. It would also make a huge thumping sound which was quite alarming. There was also another shower head that worked perfectly so I didn't have to have cold showers. I did mention it to the reception staff.

We were lucky enough to stay here during our trip to Alicante and would definitely return. The room we had, Superior Double, has recently been redecorated and is absolutely beautiful. The breakfast was exceptional and the spa was beautiful, very clean, and had AMAZING views of the mountain in the heart of Alicante. The staff were very pleasant, helpful and generous with their time. The location was fantastic and everything was a short walk away. We also ate in the restaurant there on our first night and both the food and drink were sensational!

The only thing that wasn't so great - and this is not the hotel's fault at all - was that we didn't realise this weekend was Carnivale celebrations for locals. So only down the road a huge stage was set up on the Saturday night, and very loud music blared until 5am, which kept us awake. This is only something to be aware of if you are going over Carnivale weekend - it's totally our own fault for not knowing beforehand, but something to be aware of.

Fantastic hotel, beautifully decorated, great location, brilliant staff, especially Jonathan who served me a perfect porn star martini every evening at the roof top bar , even though it easn't listed on their cocktail menu and Til who was always on hand at reception. Super comfy beds too.

The breakfast could have had a larger selection, especially tomato to go with continental cheeses, hams etc and not a very large selection of fruit.

Great location in the old town, welcoming friendly staff. The food at breakfast was excellent and we ate in the Tapas bar and the restaurant, both Great service and food. The swimming pool was a fabulous e extra and we used it several times.

The only thing we didn't like was our bathroom. There was an overbath shower with the screen at the opposite end of the bath to the shower head, so pretty difficult to shower without getting water all over the floor. Otherwise all really good 👍, thank you.

Fantastic hotel. We loved it. Staff were absolutely exceptional - kind, friendly and helpful. We had a couple of minor issues at first but these were quickly resolved.

Spa was busy at times and despite having clear rules displayed, these were not enforced. Could be better monitoring of behaviour in the spa area - particularly the pool.

We loved everything about this hotel, it was a beautiful building with the most exquisite interior. The rooms were luxurious and so quiet. Location absolutely perfect for beach and exploring the old town. The staff were very helpful.
