The hotel is cosy, traditional swiss style, yet modern. I especially enjoyed the spa facilities, it offered a beautiful relaxing area with sauna and steam room. My room was small with a lovely balcony, nicely decorated and super clean. I found having a kettler and a coffee machine in my room particularly handy. The staff was exceptionally helpful and friendly, they did go an extra mile to make sure customers were happy and well looked after. Afternoon cake with tea was very welcomed when I returned exhausted after my day of skiing.

I would prefer to have more dairy free options at breakfast, I am allergic to dairy and don't eat meat so my options were limited. However, I loved the freshly squeezed juice of different fruit and veg each morning, pastry and bread was delicious.

The property was spotless clean, the location is perfect, we could see Matterhorn from our beds and balcony, and it is a short walk away from the bridge which provides the best view of Matterhorn. The hostess was really nice, the checkin and checkout were smooth and fast. She also ordered a shuttle to send us to train station, which is only 800 meter walking distance. Breakfast was delicious, and host also packed some pastries for us to snack on the train. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, we will definitely stay here if we are in Zermatt.

cleanses, niceness of all the staffs, and location

We love everything about Chesa Valese!! The stay came with complimentary taxi pick up from the taxi station but we decided to take a nice stroll to the hotel! :) The staff were friendly and helpful in giving recommendation, for example, sight-seeing, restaurants, bars etc. Their mini-bar fridge is complimentary, it is stocked with Zermatt beer, bottled water and Coca Cola and Lindt chocolates! The breakfast service was amazing as well! A good spread of bread, cheese, cold cuts, fruits, yogurt, granola, perfectly done eggs of your choice, etc.! Highly recommend!

Having travelled extensively through the years we found Chesa Valese to be one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. We can't praise this hotel enough: The staff were excellent, friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The public rooms were just beautiful with lots of blonde wood and typical, Swiss artefacts dotted around. Continental breakfast was fresh and plentiful with home made smoothies/milkshakes, jams and preserves. We were asked each day if we would like bacon, eggs (scrambled, fried, boiled, etc). There was a comfy seating area near the small bar and another area where you could relax with a book or magazine. Plenty of books to borrow, arranged in a large bookcase. Jars of sweets for the guests to help themselves to.. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Special mention to Mikkel, Ramona and Chizella (apologies for incorrect spellings). The garden was just beautiful. with a lovely fishpond and excellent garden furniture dotted around. Dogs are welcome at the hotel and it is only a very short stroll to the town square and busy hub of Zermatt. Our room (402), was clean and fresh with a small balcony, overlooking the garden and an incredible view of the Matterhorn. The beds were not as soft as we like but that is a personal opinion and no reflection on the hotel. A variety of different type pillows are offered. Tea, coffee and water available in the room. Each morning, at breakfast, there was a "Morning Mail" newsletter showing the weather for the day/evening and "Tip of the Day" with suggestions of places to visit in the area and how hard/easy the journey may be. Mid-week little notes or chocolates were left on our bed. Such a sweet touch! On Fridays the hotel has a guest chef -Soulfood Fine Dining by Alain - who comes in to make a 3 course meal, either a fish or meat course. The food was devine and I can highly recommend booking for this delightful experience.

It's not really a negative but It would have been nice to have the facilities for regular evening meals but this isn't possible with the small kitchen area. However, having Alain coming in to the hotel on Fridays to cook his amazing fish or meat dishes is compensation enough for this "Bed & Breakfast" style hotel.

It's a very nice property, managed by very friendly and professional team. From the check in till they took us to the train station all the team behaved in a very friendly manner. The location is obvioulsy very good. Breakfast selection is wide and tasty. The rooms are nicely decorated. Spending time in the lobby and drinking something after a long ski day with whole family was quite a routine for us. Thanks a lot to the friendly management team in Chesa Valese.

It was fabulous, the staff were all incredible, from check in, check out, breakfast time and always greeted me with a smile and a hello when they saw me! The room was very comfortable and clean. I don’t normally eat breakfast but I ate something every morning here, the coffee, croissants, fresh yogurt, juices and muesli were all delicious and on a couple of occasions they offered scrambled eggs to order. It was fantastic. Also the complimentary drinks in the mini bar and gifts of Swiss chocolates and macarons were very much appreciated. Don’t hesitate to book this lovely hotel!

No negatives at all.

The breads and pastries at breakfast were not the standard hard as rock / cold selections at other continental breakfasts we just had from a neighbouring country, and owner came around to take our eggs order herself. They also offered local sparkling wine and citrus juices for us to make our own breakfast mimosa cocktails. The heart-themed decor of this property (which we understand has been around in 1959, but underwent upgrades to its present state) underscores the owner's approach of doing everything from the heart. It extends to having Franz X Buhler's From Head To Heart bestseller as bedside reading. A pillow menu, generous amenities from L'Occitane, a nicely done-up spa and a ski-room in the basement will also entice. Housekeeping cleaning standards were also excellent, as was the pick-up and handling of our baggage on arrival at Zermatt train station. At check out, front desk handed us thoughtful departure pack of bottled water and chocolates for our next journey.

Nothing comes to mind.

You could see the mountain and a lot of the town from my room, so I really enjoyed sitting in the room and enjoying the view. It was located a short walk from the train station and the main street, which made my stay really easy. They also had a shuttle to take you to the train station when you left (and I assume also when you arrive, but I didn't know about it at the time so I'm not sure). The breakfast was also great! The whole experience was really cozy and enjoyable.

I had trouble finding the hotel sometimes and had to put it into my navigation a lot, but most buildings in Zermatt seem to be that way. Other than that, I can't complain much, this was one of the hotels I liked the most on my trip.

Absolutely everything and even more! This is the most friendly, cosy, tasty, clean, comfy, lovely and details oriented hotel I ever stayed in. All staff is super welcoming. The location is just perfect: 7 minutes walk to the train station, 7 minutes walk to ski lifts, 5 minutes walk to city center. Breakfast was my motivation to wake up in the morning, absolutely delicious, with big choice of whatever makes you happy in the morning 😋 Huge thank you for making me feel like at home ♥️ I will definitely come back!

Everything about the stay was exactly as expected, if not better ! The reception was amazingly friendly and accomodating from checkin to checkout, the massage was one of the best my wife had, and the spa is very well decorated in extremely good taste. The only inconvenient was the lack of swimming pool, but the suit had one of the best view of the Matterhorn, and the rest was so perfect we did not even miss it. I would 1000% recommend and come back any time.
