- View of Matterhorn was amazing - Room was very comfortable and spacious - Best breakfast buffet we had on our 3 week trip Note: if you have reasonable sized luggage then save yourself the hassle and take the electric taxi to the hotel (coat us CHF 17, but I believe the hotel can also organise this for CHF 15). If you do plan to walk to the hotel, do not follow google maps because it guides you up a very very steep hill and you also need to cross a railway track. We found the route bypassing Old Zermatt restaurant to have a more gentler incline - but we only took this route down to the station.

The room offers a beautiful and spacious balcony with Matterhorn view. Was deeply impressed that it was throughly cleaned after the first night of our stay when there were thunderstorm and heavy rain. So when the sun appeared the following day, we enjoyed a relaxing simple dinner in the balcony while admiring the stunning view. Inside, the room was spacious, clean and well-equipped with kettle and teabags as well. Shower room was super with rain shower and heating towel rack. The staff, especially Stephanie, was very friendly and helpful.

Direct view of Matterhorn if the sky is clear. And there is a pool to enjoy the view of Matterhorn too.

If you didn’t take the taxi, be prepared to walk uphill with your luggage…

We liked the comfy rooms, good breakfast, and the whirlpool tub. The location was convenient in Zermatt. The staff were very friendly and helpful! We would stay here again the next time we're in town.

Everything. It was beautiful outside and in. The staff were amazing, the sauna was relaxing, and the breakfast was worth every penny. This hotel completely exceeded our expectations. Booking.com photos don’t do it justice.

Outstanding view of the Matterhorn, terrific spa which was very enjoyable after a day of skiing, with a glass of wine/sparkles, breakfast was very impressive, tasty and lovely room. Brilliant customer service by the staff/ owners. We called through to reception on our arrival by train to Zermatt and they arranged an electric taxi to pick us up to bring us to 'Hotel Ambiance' as we had a heavy suitcase each and too far to walk with - cheaper than if we organised ourselves.

The hotel was very kind and very effective in booking an electric taxi for us from the station to the hotel and back. Some kind and hard working staff (not the very old lady) at the Reception were very kind to heat up food for us. I loved the balcony and the little swing every balcony had. It snowed around when we were there and it made the entire place look so beautiful and magical. The view of the Matterhorn from our balcony was just too good. Very kind and hard-working staff.

Two single beds instead of one double bed. Early check-in of 2 hour earlier was available for a price of Fr.20.

Very good experience overall. Very well located in the village with an amazing view. New interior design of the room that’s very clean, spacious and comfortable. The view from the balcony is just amazing. I loved the fact that they installed swings on the balcony. There was an outdoor jaccuzi with a matterhorn view and a 2 saunas that we enjoyed. Breakfast wasn’t bad but they can add more choices and varieties. Ordering an omelette was for extra charge which is not supposed to. It will remain a good stay anyway.
