The location is great - right in the old town of Zurich - so you are close to all the main attractions, hip locations and the main train station. The staff is very welcoming and helpful, and this mindset applies to all of the facilities of the hotel - from the free tea, coffee, and fruit, to power adapters and kettle that you can borrow to the first refill of the minibar. Last but not least, the rooms are lovely as well, as they are neat and cleaned daily. Overall a great stay!

The location was perfect - at the end of a street (Niederdorfstrasse) with lots of restaurants and shops and easy walking distance to most of downtown. The room was clean and comfortable. We were on the side of the hotel overlooking a private plaza, so the room was quiet at night, but had a nice breeze with the windows open. There were many options at breakfast, including made to order omelets. The food was fresh and there were choices for most dietary restrictions.

The only thing that could have been improved was the shower head. It was one of the hand held kind that fit in a bracket, but the bracket would kept sliding down the rod, so the spray hit about waist height.

Hotel Alexander has a perfect location two tram stops or 10 minutes from Zurich HB. Room was small but functional and having all that was needed. The best aspects for me was AC and minibar with first fill for free. Room had desk suitable for work and with plugins for CH, EU and US if I remember well, so no worries if you have non CH end. TV had decent selection of German and English channels. In my opinion hotel Alexander is excellent starting point to visit Zurich and places nearby for solo travelers. I definitely plan to come back if need to stay in Zurich for one night.

Lovely little hotel right in the heart of Zurich. Everything is on your doorstep and you never have to walk too far to where you want to go. Rooms are small enough but perfect for a short stay. Staff were super nice and friendly.

Breakfast selection was quite limited and could be better but was still great. The hotel is on a very busy street with lots of nightlife around so it can get quite nosy but the hotel give you earplugs. I brought my own just in case that I bought prior to staying just incase. You can request a courtyard room (at the back of the hotel away from the Main Street) before arriving if you’re a light sleeper like me. We did that and the hotel were more than happy to oblige!

The hotel's location was great, with easy walking access to all the main attractions in the city. The staff was friendly and helpful. One of the highlights was the availability of portable wifi and charging adapters offered at the front desk, which proved to be incredibly useful during our stay.

The breakfast at the hotel was decent, but it lacked both quality and variety. Considering the price of the hotel, we expected better. While the parking is secure, it is quite overpriced. The bathroom was clean overall, but we did encounter a lot of hair stuck to the bathroom walls, which was a bit disappointing.

This is a really good hotel, from the check in process which was very smooth, to the staff who looked after us where no question was a problem. They helped us plan our afternoon pointing out local attractions, suggested restaurants for dinner, and a rough walking track for what time we had there. Its location is great, we walked there from the train station and also back to the train station the next day. Breakfast is good, cooked fresh while you wait, and the hotel has a lift, which wasn't that common on our trip. Really enjoyed our brief stay here, and would definitely stay here again .

Nothing I can call out, this hotel ticks all the boxes.

I try to reserve ten scores for the exceptional (a honeymoon destination or somewhere that someone with mobility issues would be happy to stay in and just watch the world go by). This is a pleasant hotel in the city centre which was very suitable for our few days in Zurich but would fail my criteria for a 10. A fairly standard European hotel room. Good breakfast. We would be happy to stay here again for a few days. 15 minutes walk from main railway station, lots of places to eat. It rained whilst we were in Zurich but the hotel was able to provide free passes to the Kunsthaus Art Gallery (biggest in Switzerland) which is in any case a top attraction in itself. You can ask to borrow a kettle but otherwise there is free coffee and tea provided in the foyer. Staff very friendly and helpful.

A little tucked away in the corner of a small square you could miss the entrance. Room was possibly a little on the small side but more than adequate. We had no trouble finding a table in the breakfast room but imagine there could be an issue at busy times.

The people at the front desk were so kind, offering coffee, tea, apples, umbrellas. The hotel was small but had all of the little things that make a difference - free water bottles, a electrical outlet close to the bed for your phone, earplugs for the fireworks on Swiss National Day, a little chocolate on the pillow, and a lovely cooked breakfast. The location was perfect, surrounded by lovely restaurants and in the middle of the main points of interest. It was extremely clean and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

There wasn't anything I didn't like

First of all let me say that the staff at ALEXANDER HOTEL are the nicest. Riyna (I hope I*m spelling it correctly) literally met us between the train station and the hotel .Coffee in the lobby upon arrival. Room was on the 1st.f;oor.but yet not too noisy at night .Beds were nice and comfortable. Breakfast was good .Decent selection of hot and cold food items. Exiting the lobby doors you are at the edge of OLD TOWN.. You are just a few blocks away from the train station ,bus depot, supermarket, theatre house and other points of interest .Staff is very friendly.

all our expectations were met. There was nothing we didn't like.

Very convenient if you are coming from Zurich railway station (few minutes walking distance ) Area allows for all the main attractions to be reached on foot, especially if you are on a first trip to Zurich The Checking in and out were a breeze. Very friendly staff, nice welcome and helpful lady at the breakfast room Nice shower, room is basic but has a comfortable bed. Clean and well maintained.

nothing really to complain .. price is Zürich standard. The room was a little noisy at times as it was on the first floor, street view on a weekend night so if you are a light sleeper it can be bothersome.. A little kettle en suite would have been a plus but hot drinks were available at the front desk , so no big deal
