The hotel is 5 min walk from the main train station. Next to a Starbucks. The room was clean. We had a room facing a courtyard - not the main road - so it was quiet and we had a decent sleep. For Zurich, the price is decent. Since we only needed one night, before a flight the next day, we did not need a lot of "facilities". However on the plus side - this was the only hotel we used, out of 6 nights that had UK TV channels.

There was no EU electric socket, only swiss ones. I did not expect a UK one, but a EU one would have been nice to have. The password for the wife is written on the door - and that area was not very well lit - plus the font was small and the password has consecutive small 2 "r"s - which can be confused for n - that does not help either. I am still going to leave high marks for the overall stay -- since these comments do not deserve to slash the score - 9 is still suitable for what the hotel offers. It does not have kettle - but most hotels in Zurich does not offer this.

Staff were friendly and efficiently responsive to all our requests, e.g. allowing us to store some of my wife's medicine in the hotel's kitchen fridge. This was important to us. A big thank you to all the hotel staff. Our room was nice, and we loved that the glass door to the small balcony could be opened to let in fresh air. The separation of bathroom and WC into two separate small rooms was also a good thing. The check- in and check- out procedures were performed quickly a friendly and efficient manner with minimum fuss and the printed receipt clearly showed the cost of our stay. And last, but not least of course, the superb central location allowed us to move our luggage ourselves, 'by hand' across to Zürich main station when it came time to leave. Another great feature is that the hotel is just a few minutes walk from a largish 'Co-op' supermarket where we could buy reasonably priced supplies. We are very happy with our decision to have stayed at Limmathof for 3 nights.

Our room had no kettle to boil water for making ourselves a hot drink in the morning or evening, and no small fridge to keep milk or a few small food items. If these can't be provided in rooms, then they could be, and should be provided in the hotel's small common room on the ground floor. This would have allowed us to boil our own water and make a cup of tea instead of going to the reception desk to ask for a thermos flask with boiled water from the kitchen on each occasion. The staff never complained about doing this for us, but it was an unnecessary inconvenience for us, and the staff.

The staff were so friendly and accomodating. The room was as expected from my online research. It was clean, beds were comfortable, there was enough lighting and electrical outlets. The bathroom mirror is hung very high - a bit of an inconvenience for my 5 foot (152 cm) height, but there was another mirror in the room. Breakfast was great; dinner in the restaurant was very good. Loved the location. Niederdorf is right there, and wonderful to wander through with resaturants, cafes and shops. The street noise did not bother us, but might bother some.

Lower the bathroom mirror. Good to know: there are some stairs to navigate your luggage up, before you get to the elevators.

Historic but modern hotel located within walking distance of HB railway station and old town. The top-floor dormer room was cozy with a very comfortable bed, desk, good lighting, and a sitting bench. The bathroom had quality towels and soap amenities. The included breakfast was a selection of savory/sweet items and beverages. Staff members were friendly and efficient.

If you're a light sleeper, you may notice an audible HVAC-type sound coming from roof area which was close to my 5th floor room. Not noticeable during the day but definitely at night. Maybe not all rooms are affected depending on location.

Perfect location in city centre on river. Tram hub interchange right out front. Tram 10 from airport delivers right to hotel front. Staff at reception are excellent in demeanour and helpfulness. Breakfast chef Marcello is a happy accommodating face each morning. Hotel is an older building but interior is very acceptable, although rooms are a bit on the small side. We found the Half Price voucher a great saving for travel on trains, trams and buses and entry to attractions valid for 1 month. Saved us heaps.

Quite pricey but cheaper than most in Zurich. Switzerland is an expensive place to visit.

Great location: The hotel was about 250m from the main rail station, and on the edge of the old town area. The breakfast was good, cold meats, cheese, boiled eggs, fruit, muesli, yoghurt, and for those like me who need gluten free, gluten free bread rolls were prepared (heated up). luggage could be stored securely after check out for free. Tea and coffee not in room, but they were available downstairs. The room was quiet, despite busy location. I would definitely stay again.

About 10 stairs at front entrance (inside front door), before reception desk, but this was a minor issue. The hotel does then have a lift to all other floors. .

Location was great, very convenient to main train station (HB) as well as to all tram lines, which was exactly what I needed. Also convenient to Neiderdorf, so even late on a Sunday evening, I was able to get a delicious meal nearby. Good offering of shelving/hooks in the bathroom & good amount of space overall. I also liked breakfast choices. Very good options & great value. Staff was super friendly, prepared & patient. This overall experience was a pleasant surprise indeed! Thank you.

Room is dark so would love some better lighting. And an iron/ironing board option. Sorry if I missed that & it was there, I didn't see it.

Great value for money! The hotel is located right outside the main train station and tram stop, making it easy to reach most city attractions on foot. While the room facilities are a bit outdated, they reflect the city’s rich architectural history, which adds to the experience as a tourist like myself. For a 2-star hotel, it exceeded my expectations in every way—cleanliness, friendly staff, comfortable beds, and even an elevator! We booked two rooms and were thoughtfully placed next to each other. I only stayed in Zurich for one night, and this was an excellent choice. Highly recommended!

The location was exceptional! It's just a five-minute walk to the train station, so you can easily arrive and depart from the airport using their amazing train system. Also, the hotel is within walking distance to all the great Christmas markets in Zurich, as well as downtown attractions. My room was immaculately clean, and the bed was super comfortable. The staff person (named Beth, I think?) was SO kind and helpful when I arrived. I also liked being able to get a glass of wine from the restaurant downstairs each evening. I will definitely stay here again when I return to Zurich.

I wrote to the hotel prior to my arrival, asking them if I would need to buy a specific charger for my stay. I have one for Germany and one for the UK, but I read that you need a specific one for Switzerland. I was a little stressed because I wasn't able to find what I needed where I live, and I didn't have time to order one. It turned out they had plenty of chargers they loan to their guests. It would have been greatly appreciated if they had responded to my question! I never heard from them. I also wish I could have controlled the temperature in my room. A coffee maker in my room would have been nice too, but they do provide instant coffee in the lobby.

We arrived by train to Zurich and the hotel was an easy 5 minute walk from the train station. The room was sparsely furnished but had everything we needed, was clean and comfortable. It rained during our stay and there were umbrellas available to borrow. Breakfast was basic, but good and freshly made coffee to order.

The shower could use updating. The tub was very deep which could make it difficult for some to get in and out of. Close quarters too. It was a bit confusing as to how to turn the shower on. The busy street in front makes for some noise at night but you’re in a large city.
