I recently had the pleasure of staying at Swiss Chocolate by Fassbind in Zurich, and it was an experience to remember. The hotel boasts an excellent location, merely a stone's throw away from the train station, making commutes and explorations incredibly convenient. A delightful surprise awaited in the lobby – a mesmerizing chocolate fountain, which is a testament to the Swiss's love for their world-famous chocolates. My stay was thoroughly comfortable, with all amenities ensuring relaxation and peace. Additionally, the check-in and check-out processes were smooth and hassle-free. I highly recommend Swiss Chocolate by Fassbind for a genuine Swiss experience in the heart of Zurich!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Swiss Chocolate by Fassbind in Zurich, and while there were many highlights, there were a couple of aspects that left room for improvement. The in-room amenities could use an upgrade, and the dining options, given the stature of the hotel, were a tad limited. Additionally, the charge of CHF50 for a late checkout (even by an hour) after a week-long stay was surprising. I would have anticipated such a minor extension to be complimentary. That said, the Swiss Chocolate by Fassbind offers a genuine Swiss experience in the heart of Zurich, and I would love to be back to stay at this fine hotel.

location was great, just 5 minutes from Zürich HB and next to Tram Central and polybahn station. it’s a quiet street though as we arrived the day of the Parade and there was zero noise; hotel crew were really nice with us and always kind with our toddler. they provided us with a cot for free (this service is not free in many hotels nearby) and made an upgrade for us so we could be more comfortable with the baby. they gave us chocolates everyday as a gift when we were leaving in the morning. breakfast is not big in terms os variability but nice quality and all the essentials to enjoy it plenty. it’s the second time we stay at this hotel and we’ll come back 100%

The hotel was 7 minute walk from the Zurich Hb, but also across the river in the top of the old city well away from traffic and close to decent restaurants and walks to central sites on both sides of the city. The rooms are of various sizes and we were given a larger one (211 similar to 411 and 611). The bed was comfortable and the toilet, shower was is very good working order. Lots of clean towels, good furniture and desk space. Good working glass elevator. We did not try the breakfast as it is Switzerland and very expensive though looked adequate - given in the small lobby at the front.

Like other Swiss and German hotels, there appears to be a denial of global warming. Zurich is a humid city and all decent hotels need proper air conditioning. This hotel is not different. While it provided a unit cranked to 5C, there was little output even on manual forcing the fan - forget automatic - it shuts off in 5 minutes. We had to open the window (no screens) and use the curtain shears for screening. There was also only one roll of toilet paper. Hopefully the hotel will stop talking about the "environment" and ensure the environment in the room is as comfortable in hot humid weather as is needed for each customer.

On our arrival Katia was very friendly. She gave us a map and explained the layout of the immediate area. She suggested wonderful places to dine as well. She is a wonderful face for the establishment, treat her well! The cleaning staff was also pleasant and friendly.

It took us a few minutes to figure out the lights in the room. A better explanation of how to activate them would be good otherwise it is an excellent system, one I had never seen before. The room 408 was small and the desk was inconvenient for making coffee. But I feel like I had to say something negative, otherwise we enjoyed our stay very much.

Hotel location is within walking distance to Zurich Train Station and lots of restaurants nearby

Staff should be trained to help us if we have issues with our room. On the first night, our room was cold with 7 or 8 degree Celcius outside and the heater was not working. The next day we told the receptionist in charge at night to check our room because we were freezing cold at the room, but he only replied "there is no one complain about the heater, you might try again to turn it on". He only said that and didn't even come to our room to check.

Location location location Walked everywhere including 4 short blocks to trains lugging 50 Pound duffle bag skis ski boots and rolling carry on. Concierge Carlos was wonderful. Gave us directions, recommended what to see during our stay, recommended restaurants, answered questions and was just ban amazing guide. Chocolate theme was fun and loved the chocolate fountain that greets you in the lobby. Place is spotless and modern and great value in the Old Town and amazing location at Central tram. Note - rooms are small so recommend paying additional money for a slightly larger room. You need to walk up 5 short steps to entrance.

I loved everything. Can’t beat location and the hotel is clean, quiet and comfortable. If you need a large room or have mobility issues this isn’t an ideal place.

Location is brilliant, very close to the train station, many restaurants and bars arround. No private car park but public car park only few min away. Staff was very friendly at both check-in, breakfast and check-out. Beds were very comfortable.

Extra pillow would have been nice. Shower head in room 302 couldn't be swiveled and sprayed over the shower curtain. We also had room 411 and that shower had a door and all perfect. Price for 2 rooms for one night was 550chf which is on the high side.

We were lucky to get connecting rooms on the third floor(301.311) that allowed a little corridor between our rooms which is perfect for kids. The hotel was ideally situated near the Central Tram station and loads of restaurants. Beds were comfy and room was well designed. Carlos on the reception was very helpful too.

We stayed for 3 nights and our room was not cleaned on Day 2 which was a Saturday but that was fine. We avoided the chocolate fountain in the lobby as it didn’t seem very hygienic.

It’s a lovely property, reasonably priced for that area. The room is spacious and the staff do their job well. The location is fantastic, very close to the train station and tour bus meeting point. A lot of restaurants nearby, walkable distance to the Lake area.

The bed was not so comfortable and in the month of May that we travelled, it was hot at night. The A/C is only switched on from June to September as it is in most properties in Switzerland

Very central. Close to main station and Old Town with lots of nice restaurants was in easy walking distance. Breakfast was good but basic and very small area to eat but functioned well nonetheless. Room was very small and not suited for a longer stay. Clean and comfortable but bathroom was tiny and some people would struggle.
