The property is situated on a hill along a small quiet road Hirschengraben. It is just a five to seven minute walk to Zurich main station, which makes day trips or commutes out of the city very convenient. Our first impressions of the hotel exceeded our expectations. The hotel was recently refurbished. The room was fitted with new air-conditioning, unlike other hotels in the area. It was also made spotlessly clean day after day by the wonderful housekeeping team. We were welcomed by one of the receptionists Suzanne, who was very thoughtful and helpful by assisting us with the many queries and requests that we had. One of the staff, Sascha, was very considerate and helpful and went out of his way to make our stay exceptionally pleasant.

We felt that the breakfast could do better by varying the daily menu. Everyday, the breakfast was largely the same, maybe the variety of eggs could be improved. The breakfast would be more outstanding if there would be some hot food like sausages. The price point for this hotel was not cheap but it was worth it.

Overall, I am pleased to say that the experience was very positive and I have left with a good impression. Firstly, I would like to commend the hotel on the spacious and quiet rooms. It was a delight to have such a comfortable and peaceful environment to relax in. Additionally, the cleanliness of the hotel was impeccable. It was clear that a lot of effort goes into maintaining a high standard of cleanliness, and I appreciate this attention to detail. I would also like to highlight the exceptional service provided by your staff, particularly Sasha and Albina at the reception. From the moment I arrived, they were incredibly welcoming and helpful. They went above and beyond to ensure that all of my needs were met, and their friendly and accommodating attitudes made me feel valued as a guest. Their presence truly added to the overall positive experience.

However, I must mention a small drawback regarding the hotel's location. Being situated on a hill could pose a challenge for guests with heavy luggage or mobility issues. It might be worth considering offering assistance or providing clear information regarding this aspect of the hotel's location. Furthermore, I wanted to mention that disposable slippers were not provided in the room. While this may be a common observation in hotels throughout Switzerland, it would be beneficial to consider providing this amenity as it adds to the overall comfort and convenience for guests.

This is a great hotel close to the centre and the railway station. The hotel is very stylish and modern with an arty feel. Staff are friendly and attentive and breakfast is plentiful with great variety including some hot options. We loved it on our 2022 trip and were just as impressed this time round. Weve stayed in a few different hotels and apartments on previous trips to Zurich but this is a clear favourite.

The Time Out restaurant at the hotel which has a great reputation is closed at the weekend so we couldnt eat there this time. This year the hotel stay seemed very much more expensive than previously but this reflects the poor exchange rate of Swiss Francs to British pounds lnot poor value for money.

Location from train station was within walking distance. Located in Old Town only two blocks from river was a nice plus. We could spend our overnight stay in Old town and enjoy the ambiance. Free breakfast was beyond extraordinary with all the traditional european faire and then some. Room was spotless, they'd even accommodated three of us in one room by splitting the king bed into two and making a bed on the hideaway a third bed. Couldn't have asked for any more service. They went above and beyond. Even sold us train tix for the next morning so we wouldn't have to purchase at the train station.

Zurich was unseasonably hot - there didn't seem to be air conditioning. Our room was located on a corner so we opened all the windows to get circulation - that meant we heard the traffic noise. Had it been about 10 degrees cooler we probably wouldn't have opened the windows and would have never heard the traffic. Might ask for a quiet room if it's in a warm month.

Location...GREAT improvement in air conditioning system: WONDERFUL. Breakfast outdoors is ' to die for' not to mention the quality of the buffet...staff accommodates my need to store luggage...BEST hotel in Zürich for me ( I have stayed in many others when St. Josef is full).

Cannot think...lobby is unusually HOT in summer but....that is 'fishing' for a problem. It is a wonderful discovery ( years ago) and I always try to reserve there. Prices keep rising but I know that other similar hotels charge about the same....can't be helped. I would stay longer as I used to do when the ' world was a cheaper place.'

The staff were exceptional. Gave us lots of advice, and also a membership card to the art gallery. The room was lovely and has recently been refurbished, we were given an upgrade, but the receptionist team could not have been more helpful. The breakfast was very good, continental selection as standard, but still very good. My husband also particularly liked their homemade yoghurt for breakfast. The location was great, easy to find and quite close to the main station, only 2 or 3 minute walk from the old town where the shops and restaurants are.

Nothing, loved it all. If I had to be really really picky, there was only one plug socket that my travel adapter would fit into, but there was a USB plug too, so it wasn't a problem....

* Good location in the city centre, with a lot of restaurants around, 5 min walk from the train station, 3 min walk from the tram stop and supermarket COOP, great transport connection with all sights, Just mind that if you walk from the train station by the Google map, you will need to climb the stairs, which is not very comfortable with the luggage; I recommend not climbing the stairs but walking along the street which is beneath and after some metres there will be an ascent without stairs just opposite the hotel. * Room looks modern and stylish. * Good wi-fi. * Friendly staff. * You may take free tickets to the Zoo and Kunsthaus at the reception and save 47 CHF.

* Only liquid soap in the bathroom. * No bedside table.

The location of the hotel is excellent, the old town is within walking distance, the streets are clean and safe. There is a park right next to the house for visitors with pets, and there are good jogging tracks for fitness enthusiasts. The house has been beautifully renovated both inside and out.The bathroom has very good lighting (this does not happen often), the design of the room is beautifully designed, the towels are large and especially soft. A magnifying mirror and hair dryer get extra points. Every little detail is beautifully designed and well thought out. The hotel team speaks excellent English.

Very nice staff, excellent location near train station and the altstadt. Plenty of restarants in the area, nice comfortable bed, decent bathroom, pretty quiet for the location.

Always best to ask any hotel when booking if important amenities will be available. In my case the highly rated restaurant was closed on Sunday. Not a big deal but every guest knows that feeling they get when they check in only to find out something that attracted them to book is not available.

I absolutely love this hotel. I had to iron some clothes as there wasn’t one in the room. Two staff members assisted in setting up an ironing board and iron for me. Our daughter hand her boyfriend spent a lot of time in the lobby filling out their massive paperwork to even look at an apartment to rent. They were very kind and provided them with staplers, paper clips so they could organize all the materials. The food is wonderful and we love the location, close to the train hub.
