We were attending a wedding at a venue 10mins away and so this was conveniently close by. Being a small B&B there was a lovely homely feel and I liked that the owners had chickens to provide their own eggs for breakfast, were dog lovers and incredibly friendly and helpful, even providing a taxi service tro/from the venue

I can’t think of anything I didn’t like to be honest! Our room was cosy, bed comfy and breakfast delicious. Before we went to wedding we were offered fresh milk if wanting to use our kettle to make tea, but said no as didn’t have time for it at that point. When we returned about 1am I realised I would have liked a cuppa so a suggestion would be to leave a few sachets of UHT milk in room for that eventuality - but that’s a very minor quibble!

Lovely location, lovely farm house. First thing you notice is how clean everything is. Bed was a delight and so comfy, better than home and then the morning shower was equally superb, powerfull jets and instant supply on hot water. Breakfast was also top notch, great cooked breakfast and plenty of homemade options including jams and cake. Owners very friendly. Couldn't have picked a better place to stay overnight before journeying deeper in west scotland

The question is what I didn't like, really struggling to answer this one: Knowing the next place I'm staying at has an awful lot to live up to, to match this lovely place.

From the moment we arrived at Crofthead Farm House we knew we were in for a great stay. The welcome was so genuine and when we were shown to our room we were delighted - it was spotlessly clean, spacious, beautifully furnished and the view was lovely. Our expectations were further exceeded at breakfast which was deliciously cooked to order by Nicola, there was as much as you could possibly eat and it was all fresh, all locally sourced and served by Gerry, the very best host. Nicola and Gerry were also a wealth of information about the local area, where to eat, where to visit and they really helped us to get the most out of our visit. Usually when you are staying anywhere with a dog you are consigned to the worst room in the establishment, even though you are paying for the extra cleaning, this was absolutely not the case at Crofthead where our dog was welcomed with treats and sausages! We are already planning our next visit!

Really friendly welcome. Plenty of parking and Nicola very kindly made her EV charger available to us which added to the convenience. The room and bed were very clean and comfortable and we had and an enormous bathroom which helped as we had brought our dog to this very dog-friendly establishment. Breakfast was superb with an extensive menu which was adapted to suit our vegetarian requirements. Really fresh eggs and delicious homemade jam and cake. Thanks for a great stay.

We stayed at many nice places on our trip through Scotland and England, this was hands down our best accommodations. Others were great, this was by far superior. Nicola and Gerry are wonderful, Nicola called in a reservation for our dinner, made us feel welcome at checkin and throughout our brief stay. Gerry was an amazing breakfast host.

Our only dislike was we wished we had stayed longer!

The location was great beautiful view from our bedroom window. Nicola and Gerry went beyond to make us feel comfortable in their home. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The room was easy access. The breakfast was huge with eggs from their own girls and very tasty. If we wanted information on where to go Gerry gave us directions and ideas. Loved the stay would recommend to anyone wanting to stay in that area.

Breakfast was very good. Great choice of cooked breakfasts along with freshly prepared fruit salad and other berry dishes/croissants, cereals etc. Exceptionally friendly owners and also exceptionally clean. Unless you are particularly worried about having a large room, the room size which was more than adequate, I doubt you will find a better presented and friendlier B&B anywhere.

Crofthead is in a handy location for the ferry to Arran and for visiting the area. It has wonderful views all around and is easy to find. As soon as you drive up to Crofthead you know you have chosen well as the place just feels so welcoming. We had a terrific warm welcome from the owners and ‘check in’ was easy. Our room (the suite) was wonderful with lots of space for us and our cases, a huge comfortable bed, an en-suite with all you need, 2 large TVs and all the amenities you could ask for including a small useful fridge. After a wonderfully quiet, comfortable nights sleep, we had an excellent breakfast and I thoroughly recommend the overnight soaked oats and Nicola’s excellent homemade marmalade. All in all I could not recommend this place more highly (and it’s very reasonably priced too), we loved our short stay, thank you. p.s. sorry about the Scotland result.

Everything!!! The rooms were a great size. Nicola & Gerry made you feel very welcome. My bike was put in a safe place. Breakfast was superb, with great choices. Very quiet, and a 20 minute walk into town for dinner at the Black Bull ( another wee surprise). A real gem of a place and you won't be dissatisfied staying here.

Delicious and very generous breakfast. I'd return just for the french toast alone, very yummie. Very comfortable bed and room and many thoughtful extra's (a little fridge with milk in the room, small bottle of water, etc). Very friendly owners who can tell you best places to go for walking, eating, etc.
