Room: No chair in room, so not very good for reading. Breakfast: Unusual in that only cooked breakfast is provided, with no option of cereals or toast. However, I had the best bacon sandwich I've had in a long time! Also, breakfast starts at 7.00 am, which was what I needed for an early start. I was also allowed to keep my bike safely inside the building.

Dinner: I arrived at about 6.30 pm after a long day of cycling. Needed to shower and change. I knew from past experience that the hotel serves good food; the receptionist said food was served until 8.30, so I didn't need to rush. However, when I went down to the bar, it turned out the kitchen had closed early! This was a disappointment. However, there are several places to eat within five minutes' walk.

Cosy relaxing room, very comfy bed and pillows etc, lots of channels on the tv, bathroom was lovely and modern and shower was massive and easy to use, facilities were very good and I enjoyed the hot chocolate. Staff very friendly and went out of my way to make sure I was comfortable as unfortunately I had a badly sprained ankle during my visit, forgot the gentleman’s name who was very kind and helpful he had a beard and was very friendly, and the lady with glasses during breakfast was very helpful and kind too. The price was very reasonable especially with including the breakfast the next morning! Very tasty and good sized amounts with continental breakfast included too.

Nothing to not like.

Hotel under new ownership and room had been refurbed.recently. Everything was clean as one would expect and the bed was comfortable. Good Traditional cooked breakfast but no juices or cereals offered. An excellent carvery meal was provided for our private group on the evening we stayed.

Only one bar serving a large hotel with many folk in it!

Nice and cozy small hotel in a very good location. Decent room size with 3 beds and a very good bathroom. They have parking as well which is an added advantage. All and all a good experience and highly recommended

Our room was on the third floor and we had some luggage so taking it upstairs wasn't too convenient although one of the staff helped us with taking the luggage upstairs which was very helpful

Rooms were very big - had coffee machine, wardrobe big bathroom etc. The bed was also really comfortable and we managed to get a great nights sleep. The location was perfect, close to Bala lake and restaurants/pubs. Hotel also had parking which was a plus. Staff have been great at resolving any issues. Breakfast was also really good - we had options to chose from a menu rather than a buffet-style.

We didn't have cooked breakfast but cereal. The options were very limited and it would have been nice to have had the option of a continental breakfast.

The toilet seat was almost falling off - literally just connected with it moving all over the place. Also the toilet roll holder was falling off the wall. A real shame because the rest of the facilities and room/shower etc were very good. Attention to detail.

when we arrived we were greeted by the lady on reception who gave us a very friendly and warm welcome. after checking in, she recommended a couple of good places to eat, she was right about the one we went to, the food was superb. the breakfast was very good and there was of plenty of choice. the room we had was very comfy and had plenty of room. all in all,we had a very good stay at the white lion and would stay here agin.

there were a few patches on a couple of ceilings where there had been a leak at some point, they could do with a lick of paint to tidy the place up.

We had a nice big room on the second floor and enjoyed having the space to move! Very pleased also to have a really nice big bed. Mattress a bit harder than we are used to, but this is only nit-picking. We had room service after the first night, which we weren't expecting so we were pleased. The staff were helpful and friendly. We enjoyed chatting with the lady who did the waitressing at breakfast.

Just have to bear in mind the bedrooms at the front of the hotel are a bit noisier in summer when you have to open the window to stay cool, and the traffic does get quite busy from early in the morning.

I liked the layout of the property. very clear precise instructions on how to get into my room etc. my room was way bigger than I imagined it to be. all staff were very friendly, and the breakfast was the BEST BREAKFAST I HAVE EVER HAD!

I liked everything, from the property, to the amenities and the locality of everything it was to the surrounding parts of Bala

We stayed for 4 nights and what a lovely time we had. We took our pooch and he was thoroughly spoilt from the time we arrived and every morning at breakfast! Very friendly staff and nothing was too much trouble!

The only issue we had was the shower managed to flood the bathroom on the 2nd morning but otherwise was fine.
